Meet Donny! 🐾 Donny’s journey to safety is one that took a village. Donny was one of five Shih Tzus left behind in a small town north of Austin when their family was suddenly deported. With no time to make arrangements for their beloved pets, the dogs were left outside in the yard. A caring neighbor did everything possible to provide them with food and water, but with triple-digit Texas temperatures, they desperately needed somewhere safe to go. Thanks to the combined efforts of Orphan Annie’s Neonatal Rescue, Victoria Turner, Mina Davis, and Mini Wonders Adoptions, all five dogs were eventually brought to safety. Orphan Annie’s found a foster for the sister, while Victoria and Mina helped transport the four boys to Mini Wonders Adoptions. Now it’s Donny’s turn to find the family he deserves. ❤️ Donny is about 2 years old and absolutely loves people. He seems to make friends with just about everyone he meets! He also gets along well with other dogs, although he tends to do best with female dogs or males who have been neutered for some time. Donny previously lived with his brother, but the two older boys weren’t always the best of friends and occasionally got into scuffles. For that reason, we believe Donny will be happiest having a home of his own rather than being adopted with his brother. After everything Donny has been through, he deserves to know what it feels like to be someone’s cherished family member. He needs a person who will give him a chance, provide him with patience and understanding, and show him that his difficult past is behind him. Bella is an amazing survivor. She is an 8-yr old Shi Tzu weighing 16 lbs. Bella was surrendered to us when her owner was unable to provide the care she needed. A family member let Bella out and she was jumped by a large dog causing a significant eye injury that resulted in the removal of her right eye. She has made a great recovery. She is a sweet and affectionate dog. She can entertain herself with toys and she is good with other dogs. She also had no problem meeting the feral cat in the fosters yard. She will walk on a leash and appears to be housebroken. She is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, complete bloodwork and has had a full vet evaluation. Her adoption fee is $350. Domino is a purebred Shih Tzu at least that is what his family bought at 8 wk from the breeder. Domino is now almost 4 yr. old and weighs 18#. He was surrendered secondary to very busy schedules with work and children’s activities which left no time for him and equated to long kenneling hours. He is an extremely loving and very happy young dog . He tolerated hours of grooming to remove deep matts and long hair which ended in a handsome haircut and we found his pretty eyes and ears . He bathed easily . He had 3 room mates ( 2 females and one male) initially and had no trouble integrating with them . Domino has demonstrated good housebreaking manners . He can walk on a leash with a halter or martingale collar . When presented with his food initially he had a strange behavior of walking around the bowl and whining and whining and might not dive in for a couple of minutes . Don’t know if he was taught to say a prayer before he ate 🤗. Domino is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped and has had a vet evaluation. Sammie is a 6-year-old multi-Poo weighing 13 lbs. She was surrendered by a family whose mother had been backyard breeding Shi Tzu’s. Eight months prior to surrender Sammie weighed 17 lbs. When she arrived, she weighed slightly less than 12 lbs. and was extremely emaciated. She arrived voraciously hungry and of course we have been working on food aggression. Her best friend and sleeping buddy is Emma, our senior, three-legged, one-eyed Shi Tzu. She is playful with toys and is playful with other dogs. She kennels at night if she can see her foster mom. Sammie would do best with another four-legged friend in the house. She will make a loving great companion. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and has had a full vet evaluation.
