Story
Animal Information:  Nova is a sweet 25-pound Chihuahua mix who found herself at risk in Stanislaus Modesto. Our shelter partners reached out to advocate for this little lady, and after watching her videos, we knew we had to help. Nova is estimated to be about 3 years old and is friendly with other dogs and people. She can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long before she’s asking for affection. Foster Profile:  Nova is the kind of dog who will steal your heart the second she leans into you.  She’s incredibly affectionate, easily bonds with new people, and lives for snuggles. She’s smart, eager to learn, and absolutely loves toys, training, walks, and car rides. Out exploring the world, she truly shines. Nova is looking for a dog experienced, adult only household. She experiences some separation anxiety, and will do best in a single-family home with a securely fenced yard. Apartment living or situations where she would need to be left alone frequently would be difficult for her. Nova is currently working through some resource guarding and is making good progress, but will need an experienced, committed owner who can continue that training and provide clear, consistent guidance. Nova can be selective with other dogs and is not reliant on them, so she may do best as an only dog or with a well-matched, balanced companion. She is great with cats! Nova is a fun little adventure companion who is going to be a once in a lifetime friend for one lucky family.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus in Modesto. She will be transferred via Wiggle Butts, arriving to foster care on  03/08/26 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 29, 2026, 10:15 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Bowie was adopted by a loving family in 2022, but a pending change in living circumstances and an out of country move with no permanent address means Bowie is in need of a new place to call home.  Foster Update: Bowie is a playful, affectionate little guy who thrives on being close to his people. His dream home would be with someone who works from home, takes him along on adventures, or is home for much of the day. While he can relax in his crate for a few hours when needed, he's happiest with plenty of companionship, playtime, and opportunities to explore. This energetic Chihuahua mix loves walks with lots of sniffing, outdoor time in a safely fenced yard, and games like fetch, tug, hide-and-seek, and even agility training. He gets along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a playful canine companion. Bowie has also done great with older children and would love a family that enjoys interacting and playing with him. When playtime is over, Bowie turns into a world-class cuddler. He loves curling up beside his people, soaking up sunny spots around the house, and enjoying a good massage. He sleeps happily in his own cozy bed but wouldn't object if his new family invited him onto the couch—or even the bed! Bowie will do best with adopters who understand small, energetic rescue dogs and are committed to positive, consistent training. In return, he'll bring endless love, laughs, and companionship to the lucky family who welcomes him home. Bowie is a smart, eager-to-learn dog who has been very well trained. He responds to a marker word ("Yes!"), praise, affection, and treats, and he knows an impressive number of cues, including sit, down, wait, kennel, leave it, touch, heel, paw, high five, and more. He also understands hand signals and enjoys engaging with his people through training and games. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys checking in with his handler, and loves opportunities to sniff and explore. Like many dogs, he continues to work on skills such as recall and staying calm around exciting new people and outside noises, but he has a strong training foundation and is eager to keep learning. Bowie especially shines when it comes to agility and enrichment activities. He completed multiple agility courses and private lessons and even participated in a dog agility trial for fun. Whether it's learning new tricks, navigating obstacles, playing interactive games, or practicing obedience, Bowie thrives when his mind and body are engaged. His ideal family will enjoy continuing his training journey and celebrating just how clever, athletic, and enthusiastic he is. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia in Bakersfield California in 2022 and is being rehomed in 2026 due to an out of country move.June 29, 2026, 10:15 pm
