WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾💛 Meet Gordo — 8 Pounds of Love, Loyalty, and Lap-Warming Perfection 💛🐾 Gordo has been waiting… and waiting… and we honestly don’t understand how this little guy is still looking for his forever home. At just 3 years old and 8 pounds, Gordo is living proof that the very best things come in the tiniest, snuggliest packages. This sweet Chihuahua mix is equal parts lap warmer, cuddle champion, and loyal sidekick. He adores being close to his person and will happily follow you from room to room like a tiny, devoted shadow. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who truly wants to be with you — not just near you — Gordo is your guy. He does have a soft spot for the ladies (Gentlemen, don’t worry—he’ll accept you too, but he’s a mama’s boy at heart!) and would thrive in a calm, quiet home. He’d also be thrilled to have a small doggie friend to sunbathe with and share naps. Kids aren’t really his vibe, but cozy couches and peaceful routines? Absolutely. 💊 A little extra love note about Gordo: Gordo is considered special needs due to occasional seizures, which are well managed with daily medication (Levetiracetam and Phenobarbital - about $50 every two months). He takes his meds like a champ and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He’ll also need Midazolam on hand, just in case he does have a seizure — though thankfully, his meds are working very well and he rarely has one. Now for the fun stuff… 🐶 Gordo’s Favorite Things: • Being used as a living neck pillow • Sunbathing like a tiny beach bum • Napping with doggie friends • Shamelessly begging for watermelon 🍉 • Sitting in your lap… always • Staring down the vacuum like a brave little warrior He’s house trained, crate trained, and happily trots into his crate at mealtime like the good boy he is. Gordo is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly loving — the kind of dog who bonds deeply and gives his whole heart once he feels safe. This little guy has been through a lot in his short life, but he hasn’t let it dim his sweetness or his desire to love. He’s just waiting for someone to see how special he truly is and give him the calm, loving home he deserves. 💛 If you’re looking for a devoted companion, a constant cuddle buddy, and a tiny soul who will adore you endlessly — Gordo is ready to wiggle into your heart and home! Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give this sweet boy the forever home he’s been waiting for. 💖

Story
Animal Information: Lizzie is a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 22 lbs. She ended up in an overcrowded San Bernardino shelter and was at risk due to lack of space. Even in that environment she stayed sweet and easy to handle, and she gets along well with other dogs. Thanks to a wonderful foster she is now safe in rescue. We will share more about Lizzie as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Profile: Lizzy was a shy girl who arrived from California, who is growing into a wonderful family pet.  Lizzy's favorite activity is lap sitting. She is the most snuggly dog I've ever seen. She almost never barks but doesn't hesitate to talk to me with a low rumble when I make her stay in place while I'm cooking. She sleeps all night in her kennel and frequently retreats there for naps. Her leash training is coming along great. Her recall is good, but for now, I recommend that she not be allowed off-leash. She can be skittish and would be difficult to catch.  Lizzy gets along well with my resident dog, but she loves to be the center of attention, and she would do best as the only dog. She has not been tested with cats or children. She is a silly, playful little girl who loves playing games and entertaining herself. But she can hold her own on play dates. I have no doubt she will be a great companion and friend for anyone with a lap.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from San Bernardino Shelter in California. He will be transferred via Wiggle Butts arriving to foster care on 11/23/2025 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.January 1, 2026, 10:21 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Melody is an adorable Chihuahua mix who joined us from Modesto, CA on 2/13/2025. She is dog and people friendly, and was kenneled with other small dogs in the shelter. Foster Update:  Meet Melody, affectionately called "Bunny" in her foster home. She is a sweet and sassy chihuahua-terrier mix. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and is curious about cats—she just wants to play! A confident, dog-savvy cat could be a good match, but some felines might not appreciate her enthusiasm. Melody has plenty to say and would do best in a single-family home, where she can have her daily conversations without disturbing neighbors. While she’s friendly and sweet with everyone, she can get a bit mouthy during play, so a home without young children is ideal. Melody is happy to keep herself occupied with toys or a nice bone, but above all else she is just thrilled to sit and snuggle in your lap. She’s making great progress with house and crate training and is working on her leash manners. If you're looking for a fun, sassy sidekick, Melody might just be the one! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus Animal Services in Modesto, CA.  She arrives in Seattle on 02/13/25 via START rescue transport and will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.  October 17, 2025, 11:31 pm
