Story
Animal Information: Skeeter is an estimated 6 year 12 lb chihuahua who was a stray intake to Tulare County municipal animal shelter and at risk for euthanasia for length of stay. He's been housed with multiple other small dogs (all adopted) but is passed over because, well, he's a middle aged black chihuahua. There's nothing wrong with him, just a normal little dog, friendly with other dogs and people. His time is now! He's coming to rescue! We look forward to getting to know him in foster care.  Foster Profile: Skeeter is a friendly, charming little guy who quickly wins people over with his affectionate temperament and confident, easygoing manner. He walks politely on a leash, is reliably housebroken, and is quiet in the home, rarely barking. He ignores the resident cat and shows little interest in other dogs during walks. At home, he has formed a strong bond with my resident dog, following him everywhere and seeking close companionship. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Skeeter was a stray intake to Tulare County and at risk for euthanasia due to length of stay. He'll be arriving to DGS on Monday 6/22 via our rescue partner Furry Freight, and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 21, 2026, 11:28 am

Story
Animal Information: Trumpet is a 1-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix with the look of a miniature retriever and a personality to match. This sweet boy gets along well with other dogs, loves meeting new people, and is always eager to make new friends. Trumpet was found wandering as a stray, and when our shelter contact reached out to tell us about this staff favorite, we couldn't resist. We knew we had to help him find the home he deserves. With his friendly nature, charming looks, and affectionate spirit, Trumpet is ready to bring joy and companionship to one lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Profile: Trumpet is a little lovebug and the perfect couch buddy. He's a goofball who wiggles around on his back, waves his feet in the air, and army crawls on the floor. He also loves to snuggle up with other dogs. He prefers to sleep in the same room as his family. Give him a big nest of blankets in a crate with some soft toys and he will sleep quietly through the night. He likes a leisurely stroll around the block where he can explore every shrub and sniff every flower. A true Seattle-ite, he's a big fan of dog-friendly coffee shops where he can meet new people and get little treats. He's very cooperative getting his eye stains cleaned every day and tolerates people touching his feet. He's progressing nicely with basic training (sit, stay, come, crate), although he gets distracted sometimes so he still needs some practice. Overall, he's an easy-going dog and a joyful addition to the home. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus in Modesto, CA via START transport and will arrive in Seattle 06/25. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 21, 2026, 11:28 am

Story
Animal Information: Ginger is about 4 years old and weighs 17 lbs. She was originally spotted in a known dumping area in Modesto, California, before being safely caught alongside another dog by a kind Samaritan and brought to the shelter. At first, Ginger was very nervous and shut down, but with a little patience and attention, she slowly began to warm up to staff and show her sweet personality. This lovely girl has clearly had puppies in the past, but those days are behind her now. She is friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. Ginger is ready for a fresh start and we are excited to watch her continue to blossom with love, patience, and plenty of TLC in foster care. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus Animal Shelter. He will be transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 5/14/26 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 21, 2026, 11:28 am
