Story
Animal Profile: Tank is estimated to be around 8 years old and weighs about 15lbs. He was surrendered to RASKC when his owner passed away. He we very confused and stressed out in a shelter environment, so the shelter coordinator reached out to see if we could help. We could see that Tank was nervous and needed some time to decompress after going through such a dramatic life change. We look forward to getting to know him in foster care and matching him with a new family for life. Foster Update: Meet Tank! This sweet boy has gone through some stressful life changes, but he is making great strides and getting settled into foster care. Tank's foster mom shares, "Tank (we've been calling him Hank) is a fun little guy. He is nervous when meeting new people but adjusts quickly. We are taking him out daily to get him used to the sights and sounds of people and other animals. He does really well in the house, no barking, loves his crate and plays with our resident dog. He has been ignoring  our cat. We feel he could do well with a canine companion, or as a single dog." Because Hank is uncomfortable with hands reaching out to him, he will need to be in an adult-only home. We'll continue to post more info as Hank settles in! Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Animal History: Tank was surrendered to Regional Animal Services of King County in February, and arrived in our care on 02/25/25. He will be available for adoption after evaluation foster care. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-applicationMarch 31, 2025, 4:24 am

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Barkley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Meet Barkley: 8 Pounds of Loyalty, Sass, and Fetch-Fueled Fun Looking for a tiny dog with a big personality and a strong preference for estrogen? Meet Barkley—a one-year-old Chihuahua mix, part lap-warmer, part fetch champion, and full-time heart thief (if you’re female). Barkley weighs in at about 8 pounds, but don’t let the size fool you—this little guy is a professional cuddler, an avid Nyla bone enthusiast, and a ride-or-die doggie bestie. He LOVES other small dogs (especially the ones that will play tug of war, snuggle on a rainy day, or share in a dramatic staring contest with the vacuum). His ideal home? One calm, loving lady who doesn’t mind being followed from room to room A doggie companion close to his size and energy level A home with low testosterone (sorry, teen boys and husbands—he’s just not your dude) Barkley has been through a lot, so it takes him a bit to trust. But once you’re in, you’re in. He’ll cuddle up with you like a furry, overprotective neck pillow. His favorite pastimes include: ✔ Playing fetch like it's an Olympic event ✔ Getting his ears rubbed (he melts) ✔ Snuggling up tight with his human or his canine BFF ✔ Politely (or not-so-politely) begging for watermelon He came from a rescue in Texas, and he's now ready for his forever retirement home—complete with treats, and belly rubs. Barkley is sweet, sensitive, and just wants a calm, cozy life filled with love, chew toys, and someone who understands that the quickest way to his heart… is thru his stomach. If you think you and your lifestyle would be the perfect match please fill out his adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org

Story
Animal Profile: Minnow is an approximately a 1 year old 5 lb female, short haired Chihuahua  joining us from Stanislaus Modesto in California on 06/11/2025. Not much is known about this pint sized cutie, besides that she is adorable and those eyes are telling us she can't wait for some snuggles. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Introducing Minnow, a spunky, spry, and snuggly 1 year old chihuahua. Minnow is tiny, but she is an eager adventurer and enjoys going for walks and hikes. She does like to snuggle and be near her person, but she won't be ready to cuddle up on the couch until she gets her wiggles out. Minnow loves to do zoomies in the yard, chew sticks, and chase balls that are larger than herself. Minnow walks fairly well on leash. Minnow does well with the large dogs in her foster home and has been neutral around other dogs on walks. She wouldn't mind another dog in her forever home, but she is person-oriented, and would be just as happy as an only dog. She recently went on a several mile pack walk with five other dogs and thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with the pack while minding her own business. Occasionally on a walk something will catch her by surprise and she'll bark, but she is very easily corrected. Minnow is extremely food motivated and will regularly check in with you if she knows you have treats on a walk.  Minnow is friendly with people and charms just about everyone she meets. She is working on basic obedience and potty training, and any adopter should be willing to continue her training. Minnow is crate trained, and does not bark when left alone. However, she can be vocal when her favorite people enter or leave the room, or if she suspects that the other dogs in the foster home are going on a walk without her. Minnow's vocal range varies from canary whistle to silent scream to sonic boom, so at this time we are not considering dwellings with shared walls. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus Modesto in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 06/11 via START Transport . Story
Animal Profile: Chester is an estimated 6-year-old, 7.8 lb male Chihuahua who was found as a stray in Louisiana and transferred to the Pacific Northwest for a second chance at life. He is a gentle, affectionate, and resilient little dog who thrives on companionship and forms strong bonds with his humans. Foster Update: Chester is a sweet and expressive companion who is quickly settling into foster care. While initially described as more sedentary, his foster has found that he enjoys longer nature walks and does well staying close to heel. He is especially food-motivated, which makes reinforcing good leash manners a breeze. As a likely "fair weather" walker, he may prefer to skip the rain, but he’s happy to be out and about when skies are clear. He’s playful and joyful with toys—he loves fetch and is learning the joys of a good squeaker. Chester also rides nicely in the car and is getting used to being secured with a car harness for safety. He is making steady progress with crate training and can now spend time alone during the day. Chester is also improving with house training and is learning quickly with consistent routines. Chester would do well in a home with adults and/or children, and he appears to have experience living with people—perhaps even a senior individual, based on his calm and affectionate demeanor. He is friendly with both men and women and often chooses a favorite person to follow loyally from room to room. While he can coexist with other dogs, Chester has shown some resource guarding behaviors around high-value items, so any canine introductions should be done thoughtfully. He could also thrive as the only dog in a calm, loving household. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Caddo Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arriving to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 3/23/25. Story
Animal Profile: Tino is an approximately 2 year old, 15 lb male mixed breed who was taken in as a stray, along with a female shepherd, and kenneled with a husky. He does well with other dogs and is social/friendly with people, too. Foster Update: Tino has settled into our home routine and is doing great! He adjusted very well. He is sleeping great in the crate (he goes in there by himself at night). He loves to play with a bunch of soft dog toys playing tug-of-war and fetch. Super cute.  He has been getting lots of walks but we are still working on leash tugging and excitement when he sees other dogs. Tino is doing great with sitting and staying about 6 feet from the front door. We worked on this as a priority since he seemed to want to bolt the first week we had him. Now that he has settled in, he doesn't try to bolt anymore, but he might have impulse control to seek adventure so it's something we are very mindful of. Overall, he is doing great. He is super cute, affectionate, and seems to enjoy being part of a family. He's got lots of energy so he gets extra walks and play time, and a family who can match that energy with another dog or activity would be perfect. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Story
Animal Profile:  Kenan is an estimated 8 week old male, Chihuaha mixed puppy joining us from Texas on Monday, 6/09. Kenan and his siblings have been in a Texas foster home after being found with their mom, Letty. Unfortunately a couple of their siblings were killed by other strays. Kenan and his siblings were bottle fed for 3 days while their mom recovered. They are now all healthy and happy waiting for their ride to the PNW.  Foster Update:  Keenan is a curious, confident, cuddly little guy.  He explored his foster home right away and quickly figured out how to go up and down stairs. He figured out how to go through the dog door on his own with no human training (which only a few of our fosters have done).  He quickly learned to sit for treats too.  He’s eager to please people.  He really wants our pet bunny, ducks and older dogs to play; a home with another playful or tolerant dog would be awesome for him, but he would also be okay as an only dog.  He isn’t intimidated by the bigger resident dogs, and likes to play with his small foster sister — especially tugging on her fluffy tail.  He vocalizes when he wants something, like to be picked up for a lap nap.  Or to be released from his crate; we’re working on that.  He has a regular and predictable elimination schedule (as soon as he wakes up and shortly after he eats) that helps with house-training.  He’s a sweet dog and we’re enjoying him. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Animal Advocacy in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Paws Up Rescue on 6/09. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.  June 21, 2025, 8:20 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Murphy is an estimated 4 year old, 10 lb male Pomeranian who joined us from Stockton, CA on 1/22/25. Murphy has a lot of potential to be a great family pet but he was pretty scared and shut down in the shelter. Shelter staff reported that he was nervous about being handled but that he warmed up on a leash, out of the kennel, and came around for affection with just a little patience. Foster Update: Meet Murphy – The Perfect Little Co-Pilot! Murphy is a joy to have around. He recently joined me on a long drive to pick up my kid from college and was the perfect travel buddy -- calm, cuddly, and totally adorable with his head out the window. He loves being held, is great with new people, and handles new environments like a champ. Murphy really shines when he’s getting attention and being close to his people. Murphy needs a home with no small children and no apartments, and he’ll do best with someone who can give him lots of love and companionship. Ready to meet your new best friend? Murphy's ready and waiting! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate.
