Story
Animal Profile: Lulu was adopted in 2020 after being rescued from a high-kill shelter in California. Unfortunately, her owner passed away, so we welcomed her back into our care. Lulu arrived in rough shape, having gained so much weight she was obese, and her nails were so overgrown they were curled under and made it painful to walk. This sweet girl was put on a diet, and received a pedicure without any problems immediately at intake.  Lulu is currently in foster care with another small dog, a cat and a Golden Retriever. She is a happy girl who loves her walks and lives for snuggles. Lulu is now 7 years old, and ready to find her family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in California and will be available for adoption in Seattle, once evaluated in a loving foster home in the greater Seattle area. August 14, 2026, 5:17 pm

Animal Information: Meet Ruthie, a 4-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua with a resilient spirit. Ruthie ended up at the Stanislaus shelter after being attacked by a much larger dog, leaving her with puncture wounds and a very sore body. Shelter staff described her as gentle, easy to handle, and an absolute sweetheart, making it clear she deserved a fresh start. Foster Profile: Meet Ruthie!    If you're looking for a tiny best friend who believes the best days are spent snuggled up beside you, Ruthie is your girl! This sweet 8-pound Chihuahua is easygoing, affectionate, and happiest when she's relaxing with her favorite person.   Ruthie has a bit of a princess personality—she knows she's special and isn't afraid to show it! She would be perfectly happy as your one and only pet, but she could also live with a calm, small dog who respects her laid-back lifestyle. She also gets along well with cats.   Whether it's curling up on the couch, soaking up the sunshine, or following you around the house, Ruthie is simply looking for a peaceful home filled with love. Animal Information: Meet Bonnie, Brandy & Bessie! These adorable 10-week-old Texas Chi pups are ready to begin their next big adventure here in the Pacific Northwest! If you're looking for a smart, loving puppy to join your family and are excited to invest the time in training and socialization, one of these little ones could be the perfect match! Foster Profile: Little Miss Mischievous over here is Bonnie. She has been the sweetest girl since the second I picked her up, and she’s been winning hearts ever since. Bonnie is convinced she’s the boss of every play session. She loves wrestling with her puppy friends and usually likes to be the one calling the shots. But once the zoomies are over, she’s the first to snuggle up with her puppy siblings for a cozy nap. Tough girl by day, cuddle bug by night.   She’s playful, affectionate, endlessly curious, and always looking for her next little adventure. Bonnie loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and has the kind of happy personality that makes you smile without even trying.   And then… there are her ears. Honestly, they seem to have their own zip code. They’re hilariously oversized for her tiny little body, giving her the most expressive face and making every head tilt about ten times cuter.   If you’re looking for a puppy with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and ears that deserve their own fan club, Bonnie is ready to steal yours. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter (on contract, if applicable), core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Hi, I’m Zella! ❤️ I’m a 3-year-old, 22-pound Chihuahua/Min Pin mix who’s basically a tiny professional cuddler with a side gig in melting hearts. If you’re looking for a dog who’s 90% sweetness and 10% “I will stare at you until you give me belly rubs,” congratulations — you found her! I get along with basically everyone: dogs, cats, kids, grandparents, the mailman… I’m an equal-opportunity love sponge. My life goal is to be everyone’s favorite little shadow and part-time lap warmer. I’m also shockingly well-behaved for a small dog. I’m house trained like a champ, a dog door expert, and I treat my kennel like a luxury spa. You can actually trust me in the house — I know, I’m basically a unicorn. In short: I’m the gentle, goofy, ridiculously sweet girl who will follow you from room to room, give you the big sparkly eyes, and make you wonder how you ever lived without this much love in a 22-pound package. Ready to bring home your new favorite tiny best friend? I promise I’ll make it worth your while with maximum snuggles and minimal chaos (mostly). 🐾

Story
Animal Information: Ginger is about 4 years old and weighs 17 lbs. She was spotted in a known dumping area in Modesto, California, before being safely caught alongside another dog by a kind Samaritan and brought to the shelter. At first, Ginger was very nervous and shut down, but with a little patience and attention, she slowly began to warm up to staff and show her sweet personality. This lovely girl has clearly had puppies in the past, but those days are behind her now. She is friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. Ginger is ready for a fresh start and we are excited to watch her continue to blossom with love, patience, and plenty of TLC in foster care. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Story
Animal Information: Canelo is a 7lb, 6-month-old Chihuahua mix who came to Animal Control after being surrendered from a home with too many dogs. He ended up at the Stanislaus Animal Shelter and was at risk due to space. One look at that squishy little face and we knew we had to get him out of there! We're excited to welcome this sweet little guy to the PNW and help him find the family he deserves. We can't wait to meet him! Foster Profile: You can’t help but smile when you look at this little guy! He has great character and supplies endless entertainment! Like most young dogs, Canelo can be very “busy”. He is great at self-entertaining whether chewing on a bone, shaking a stuffy, or attempting to get the resident golden retriever to play! Mornings tend to be his most active and making sure the house is puppy proofed (no accessible shoes or socks) has kept him focused on appropriate activities and toys.  Canelo does great in his crate (he sleeps quietly throughout the night) and has been nearly perfect in terms of house training. Impressive for a 6 month old puppy!  It is clear Canelo has not had much leash or life experience. Consistent walks will help him improve quickly. Currently, he is unsure how to react when approaching other walkers and dogs. We will definitely be working on exposure and proper leash behavior while in foster care.  Canelo comes well when called but is definitely challenged by his enthusiasm for…well, everything!  Trying to keep all 4 feet on the ground is tough! He loves to jump and I am continually amazed at his agility! We are working to curb this behavior along with puppy nipping however due to these 2 habits, I would caution applicants with small children/toddlers in the home.  All in all, Canelo is a great puppy and will be a wonderful companion for years to come. He -loves lounging in the yard, enjoying the sunshine and the occasional romp in the grass! Canelo came from a home with other dogs and has done great with my resident golden. A home with another doggy sibling is preferred. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
Found on the side of a Texan highway at 6 months old, Nala had a tough start to life, but after a short stretch in a foster home, she joined my family where she has been loved and cared for like nobody’s business. Nala is now 5 years old and has been with the same family since her initial adoption. She’s the SWEETEST girl & wants nothing more than to snuggle her human all day every day, but given her start in life, she can be fearful/defensive. In particular she struggles with men & young children. She would do best as the only pet in an home. Any rehoming fee is only being collected to ensure her safety, and will be donated to the shelter I adopted her from.

Story
Hi! My name is Bella and I need a new home! I'm just a tiny girl so I don't take up much room and fit nicely in most people's laps. I am half Chihuahua and half Dachshund so they call me a Chiweenie. Well I may be half this and half that, but I am full-blooded affection! I just need a friend or family of my own to share my love with. I adore humans, especially when they take me on walks because i can go, go, go! I like other dogs and would not have a problem living in a home full of fur babies. I am well -mannered and will gently take treats from your hand. Won't you please consider me? I will be forever grateful for a forever home with you!
