Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Yenn, our resident "Grumpy Cat" doppelganger with a heart of gold, currently searching for her forever home! Yenn is a shy beauty who takes her time getting to know new people, but once you earn her trust, she reveals a sweet and affectionate side. While full body cuddles aren't quite her style yet, Yenn absolutely adores chin scratches and gentle head pats. These are the keys to her heart, and she'll lean right into your touch, soaking up all the affection you have to offer. Interestingly, as she's grown more comfortable in her foster home, her preference for being held has lessened – she's a feline who values her independence! Yenn finds comfort in the presence of her sister, Triss, and can often be found snuggled alongside her. While Triss is definitely the more demonstrative cuddler of the two, Yenn appreciates the quiet companionship. She's looking for a patient and understanding home that respects her boundaries and celebrates her unique personality. If you're looking for a charming, slightly reserved feline friend who will reward your patience with loving head scratches and a quietly content presence, Yenn might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet this beautiful girl and see if her grumpy face can charm its way into your heart! Yenn is from an owner surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Triss, our tiny, enchanting little lady with a heart full of potential, just waiting to softly blossom! At just a month into her journey with us, Triss is still a bit shy, a quiet observer often found with an adorable blep (a tiny tongue poke!) gracing her sweet face. Triss  may only have two teeth after her dental, but she doesn’t let that slow her down—she’s happily embraced her new life as a devoted wet-food connoisseur. When the mood strikes her, Triss absolutely melts into cuddles, seeking warmth and reassurance in your arms. She's a grumbly little gem, and it's quite charming how she makes the same distinctive grumble whether she's enjoying a good scratch or politely declining an approach! But don't let her timid nature fool you – beneath that reserved exterior lies a warm, purring cat longing for connection, especially with her sister, Yenn. Triss isn't just a cat; she's a testament to the power of patience and gentle love. She has the makings of an incredibly devoted and loving companion, she just needs a quiet, understanding home where she can truly build her confidence at her own pace. Could you be the special person who helps Triss unfurl her wings and discover the confident, cuddly cat we know she can be? Come meet Triss and let her subtle charm and delightful bleps steal your heart! Triss is from an owner surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Leah is a sweet and affectionate kitty who’s ready to steal your heart! This friendly girl loves attention and will happily curl up next to you for cuddle time. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or working from home, Leah will be your loyal little companion. She’s playful and curious, always up for a bit of fun, but also knows when it’s time to settle in for some snuggles. Leah is great with kids and has seen the resident dog but will need slow intros — she's calm, confident, and adapts well to her environment. If you're looking for a loving, gentle, and social cat to join your family, Leah could be your perfect match. Come meet her — she can’t wait to meet you! Leah is from an owner surrender with 3 siblings. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2025, 12:47 am

Story
i got Caspur (3yr) as a therapy cat at 8 weeks old from a breeder. he was diagnosed with anxiety and idiopathic cystitis around 1 year old. he needs daily anxiety medication in morning and night, special urinary health food, and to be monitored for urinary distress as he's had UTI's and bladder blockages. his new home needs to be stress free as it increases chances of crystals in his bladder. i cant deal with the stress of an anxious cat and his medical needs. he loves going for walks outside on his harness, bird toys, and sitting by the window. he's vocal. he only purrs around me and sits in my lap so im unsure how his behavior would be with a new family but he warms up. he cannot have strings/hair ties as he will eat them. he connects with his main owner and is microchipped
