You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, Monticello PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page.   Hampton is from a stray surrender. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you'd like to donate towards this pet's care, you can donate to our Animal Care Fund.   Our Animal Care Fund supports the medical and veterinary needs for all Ruff Start Rescue animals. You'll be able to enter this pet's name on the second page of the donation form. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 3:08 pm

Story
Ollie is a big boy that has been through a rough patch, but things are looking up! Ollie had a hard time learning his manners when asking for attention. We have found he is food motivated, and mostly just needs his time and space. Ollie loves being able to wander a home and find a good window perch to look out of. When Ollie has had his time to explore, he will come looking for you! He is a big lap cat and loves cuddling up and purring. He also enjoys head scratches, but prefers doing them on his terms.  Ollie would do best with older children, or those that understand that Ollie needs his space and will come to them when he's ready! He seems to get along with other cats fine, but slow introductions would be best for this guy. Ollie is so handsome and a bit misunderstood! He could use someone patient and understanding to bring him home and give him some extra love! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Ollie, please complete an application at aohrescue.org or send an email to aohrescue.org today! ##930676##

Story
This is Missy. She is roughly 8years old. Missy is a very sweet cat, she loves to be pet and is kind to everyone. She is almost always purring. She has been with us since she was young, roughly 6 months old. Missy is a flame point Siamese. She is mainly white with some orangish markings. She also has the most beautiful light blue eyes. She lays on our bed almost every night. When company is over she usually hides as a lot of commotion scares her. She is an indoor cat with the occasion of stepping out onto our outdoor landing. Missy is territorial and will pee on rugs because of this issue. We have another cat and dog who has been with Missy for many years. She gets along with both of them but is territorial, we believe she will do best in a home with no animals. We have two young children who have been around her and she does great with them. We have brought her into the vet and have ruled out medical issues. Thank you for considering our sweet girl.
