We need a very special home for a very special boy...meet Qing! Qing is a very sweet young boy, and what he lacks in legs he makes up for in endless love! He was found as a stray, dragging behind him an entirely useless leg. It was amputated, and he has adjusted well to the 3-legged life. He is looking for his forever home, but exactly how long "forever" is remains uncertain for him - along the way, we discovered that Qing is positive for Feline Leukemia, a virus that runs a completely unpredictable course. The only thing we can say for certain is that he is *progressively* infected. A progressive FeLV infection means that he is more likely to become ill at some point. But Qing is a lover boy like you've never seen. He is an expert biscuit maker and loves belly rubs and chin scritches. He's got such a zest for life and loves crash landing into his various toys. When you adopt Qing, you will receive a wonderfully socialized gentleman! Qing will need to go to an only cat household, or a household with other FeLV+ cats. His current foster home has other leukemia kitties, and he is thrilled to have them to hang out with! Please note, FeLV spreads easily to other kitties via saliva, so Qing should never be housed with non-FeLV+ kitties. Qing is the sweetest baby, and he would be wonderful for someone who really needs a buddy. He would be perfectly content to sit on the couch or the bed or at the table with someone and hang out all day!! Included with the adoption is Qing's neuter, all current-due vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! With proper, slow introductions, she ought to be fine with calmer dogs. She is not overly fond of the toddler in her current home (a bit too much commotion for her liking!) but older, calmer kids should be just fine with Summer. Chester - Oriental Shorthair Age: 11 ½ years Neutered, approx 13 lbs Chester is a huge lovebug! He’s happiest when he's cuddling or simply being close to his person. While he may be shy and skittish at first, once he feels safe, he becomes a loyal and affectionate companion. His favorite activity? Chasing wand toys—he’ll leap into the air to catch his “prey” with gusto! This sweet boy has asthma, managed with oral steroids twice a week. He’s unable to tolerate inhalers or nebulizers due to anxiety. Marilyn - Seal Point Siamese Age: 13 years Spayed, approx 8 lbs Marilyn is a gentle and affectionate sweetheart. She’s especially bonded with Chester and always wants to be near him—if he’s out of sight, she’ll search the house calling out for him. She enjoys interactive toys, especially ones with moving balls or chirping sounds. She occasionally vomits, likely due to hairballs, and is currently on hairball prevention food to help manage this. Chester and Marilyn are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their connection is strong, and they provide each other with comfort and companionship. Marilyn generally does well with children, but Chester is quite nervous and tends to hide from younger kids (e.g., a 7- and 10-year-old). For this reason, a quieter home—preferably without young children—would be best. Older, respectful kids may be okay. Chester and Marilyn haven’t been around other cats in over 8 years, so it’s unclear how they would adjust. They currently live with a dog, but unfortunately, it’s part of why they are being rehomed.
