Story
Sandy and Nautilus are beautiful lynx-point Siamese mix kittens about 5-6 months old (DOB about 7/25/25).  Sandy is female and Nautilus is male.  They and their “beachy” littermates, Mariner and Seashell, came from an abandoned house in Oak Ridge. The owners moved off and left several unaltered cats.  Their mom has been fixed and so have these babies.   They LOVE everyone as soon as they meet them.  They are VERY playful and active.  They love to play with toys or other cats and are never bored.  They like to be held and to snuggle.  They get along well with cats, and we think they'd be great with dogs and kids.  They are negative for feline leukemia and aids, had 3 distemper and the rabies vaccines, been wormed, had revolution for fleas, ear mites, and fleas, and been vet checked, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.  May be adopted separately, but preference will be given to local adopters willing to adopt them as a pair.  If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net  We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.January 6, 2026, 4:57 pm

Story
Catania is a warm, calm girl who likes to be in the company of people.  She enjoys being brushed and getting some snuggles. She will cry to let you know if she feels isolated & lonely & will eventually come to a responding call. She was not fond of my older cat when she first arrived but has gotten used to her.  At first, she hissed at her (nothing beyond a hiss) but now she has gotten used to her (after a weeek or so here with us). She loves petting & food, but has not shown any interest in toys.  She likes to follow me around the house to see what I am going to do next and whether she can participate.  She will stand on my lap for a short time if I put here there.  On the bed, she will make herself at home while you are there.  I suspect with more time in a home, she may discover lap sitting.  She takes a little time to adapt to a new place but she adapts well when she does.  We do know she lived with a number of other cats before she came to MPR.  She has not lived with dogs before so we do not know how she would do with them.Meet Catania by completing our online adoption application or visit her during our weekly adoption event at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, 12-4pm on Saturday.  All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. January 7, 2026, 1:24 am

Story
Caprese is an attractive, social and energetic Siamese cat. She has large bright blue eyes and loves to hang out, follow and interact with her humans. Caprese has many characteristics typical of a Siamese cat: strong, intelligent, loyal, and needs lots of stimulation and social connection. She would be best with a family where someone was home most of the time – she would get lonely and bored if left alone during the work day. Although she will vocalize for food, she is not as talkative as many Siamese. She can get overstimulated fairly easily but is smart enough not to bite. Caprese may take a couple of days for you to earn her trust, but then she’ll purr up a storm and chase a feather wand toy with vigor.  She loves Churu treats and will come running at the sound of the package.  We do know she lived with a number of other cats before she came to MPR. She has not lived with dogs before so we do not know how she would do with them.  Meet Caprese by completing our online adoption application or visit her during our weekly adoption event at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, 12-4pm on Saturday.  All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.
