Good with cats,
Story
Milo is the kitty that will be your valentine for years to come. He is the very essence of heroic- gentle- and mild mannered. He is confident but bashful. Milo vocalizes his inquiries with meows - and wants to give you a head butt to make sure you're doing ok. He wants his next adventure to be inside a home with a candlelit dinner over his bowl of cat food. Milo is the kitty to keep you company- and if you do happen to leave- he will wait patiently for your return. Please and see if you can take this sweet prince home! Hello there the adoption fee is $20.00 CASH OR CHECK it is low as we do not spay/neuter our animals or vaccinate as we do not have a vet on site. Upon adoption you would sign a legal contract stating that within sixty days you will get them sterilized and vaccinated per state requirement. Sometimes due to age or complications the 60 day window can be extended however only by a vets discretion. Your contract is not fulfilled and your adoption of the pet cannot be successfully closed until proof of sterilization and vaccination is provided to us from the adopter. You may come to the shelter any day of the week between 8 am and 4:30 pm, just please give us a call beforehand to let us know you are coming at 281 291 5644. Thank you!

Story
Duchess is an adult female born in 2021. She will usually hide when strangers are in the house. And she likes a nice peaceful environment. Loud noises and lots of simulation are not in her comfort zone. However, as she gets to know you, she can become very affectionate. She will jump on your lap, nudge you until she receives her strokes of affection, and then hang out with you for hours. She loves to play games. Her favorites are laser pointer, string, and mouse (with some catnip, of course). She enjoys climbing in her cat tree or perching on the window sill and watching birds, butterflies, and salamanders. She loves hide and seek, sometimes hiding under furniture and then jumping out suddenly. Duchess may also be a budding office cat. She is fascinated by monitors, the movement of the mouse, and printers. Anytime you are in the office, expect Duchess to show up soon to help.  Duchess has always lived with her brother, Tigger. They have been together since birth and have a very close bond. When they can’t find each other, you will hear them meowing and calling to one another. You often see them together, laying on the bed, perched in the window sill, or just hanging out on their cat tree. While they do some things separately, they seem to really enjoy each other’s company. This is good on those days where you are stuck at work, to know that your cat has a sweet companion. In most cases, Tigger is the initiator of activities and relationships. Since he is more outgoing than his sister, Duchess, he forges new territory, and then she follows soon after. The reason why they are being rehomed? A new member of the family has very bad allergies. The family loves them enough to keep them in their current home until a new home can be found. This brother and sister pair are TOO SWEET! Tigger will hover over sister Duchess at adoption events, keeping her safe:) Both are very sweet and loving. This is a great bonded pair looking for a new, forever home. The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area. All cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV and feline leukemia, fully vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and microchipped. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Clear Lake Petco (2410 Bay Area Blvd, Houston 77058). If interested in one of our cats please feel free to complete an application, found on our website www.secondchancepets.org, and email it to us at pets2adopt@yahoo.com for pre-review.  January 3, 2026, 6:48 pm
