I’m Cinnamon, an affectionate, cuddly, and laid-back Lynx-point Siamese fella who can dispense the most powerful head-butts that you could ever experience! It’s because I’m such a lover that, when Foster Meowmy’s a bit distracted, I shove my head hard into her head as a ploy to get her to notice me. I luxuriate whenever she scratches my ears, checks, or chin, and if she’s lounging on the sofa to watch TV, I like to crawl up on top of her for a snooze. You’ll understand my craving for attention after you get my rescue backstory: I happily lived with my owners until they were evicted from their apartment and abandoned me outside when they moved out. Loyal fella that I am, I waited for four months in an outside storage closet for them to come back for me. Thank heavens someone alerted my future Foster Meowmy of my plight, and she immediately came over and scooped me up to take me to the safe haven of her home. She found that I had not dealt well with the hardscrabble life of an outdoor cat – I was malnourished, my ordinarily beautiful coat was a mess, and I was covered in fleas – but that didn’t deter her, saint that she is. I’ve flourished ever since I’ve been enjoying the indoor life again – I give a hearty “meow” every time I hear her open a can of Friskies wet food for me! I must say that flea meds, brimming food bowls, brushing my fur coat, and soft beds have all contributed a lot to my getting back to my “buff” self again. I’m Sammy, a handsome, incredibly affectionate, and wonderfully talkative blue lilac-point Siamese mix fella who, just like Siamese purebreds, is happiest when I’m close to my favorite hoomans. I'll cheerfully follow Foster Meowmy from room to room to ensure that I can supervise her daily activities and simultaneously give her a running commentary to ensure that she never feels alone. Whether she’s cooking dinner, working from home, or just relaxing on the couch, I’ll be right there, convinced that everything is more fun when we’re together Some cats are born to live outdoors, but I assure you that I am not one of them. I originally showed up at Foster Meowmy's community cat feeding station looking like a grumpy, intact survivor of numerous caterwauling fights. She trapped me because she assumed that I was feral -- until I made it abundantly clear that what I really wanted was NOT freedom but a family of my very own. After surviving the hardest chapter of my life, I was more than ready to leave the streets forever and again be the spoiled house cat I had been in my past. My clipped left ear may tell the story of where I’ve been recently, but my tender, devoted disposition tells the story of where I belong. Once Foster Meowmy brought me to the safe haven of her home, my wish list has been refreshingly simple -- a bowl of wet food, an occasional Churu treat, a soft bed, and – most of all -- someone to love. Unfortunately, the consequences of surviving the hardscrabble life became a reality when I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.
