Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever Home Wanted: Meet Chunk-O! Chunk-O is a St. Bernard / Labrador Retriever mix who came to us through no fault of his own after being surrendered by his owner. He and his sister, Strawberry (also available for adoption), were the last two pups from an accidental litter of eight, and we stepped in to make sure they get the loving homes they deserve. Chunk-O is brand new to our rescue, but so far he’s checking all the good-boy boxes. He appears to be crate trained. The owner stated he has been exposed to a leash but not walked regularly so he may take a little time to settle in. He is dog and people friendly, having grown up in the home with 6 children. He loves attention, and is happiest soaking up affection from anyone willing to give it. Most of all, this sweet guy just wants a family to call his own. The owner stated that Chunk-O, while the largest in the litter, is the biggest baby. He's more on the shy side but super sweet. He and his sister Strawberry (also available for adoption) really love water. Chunk-O and Strawberry have lived outdoors the last several months so housetraining may need some work.  As we continue to get to know Chunk-O, we’ll update his bio with more details—but his gentle, loving nature is already shining through. If you’re interested in meeting Chunk-O, please fill out an application at  www.labradorsandfriends.org Chunk-O is located in Southern California        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 12, 2026, 2:48 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever Home Wanted: Meet Strawberry! Strawberry is a St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever mix who came to us through no fault of her own. She and her brother, Chunk-O (also available for adoption), were the last two remaining pups from an accidental litter of eight, and we stepped in to make sure they get the happy endings they deserve. Strawberry is brand new to our rescue, but so far she’s been nothing but a sweetheart. She loves pets and affection, has a gentle-giant demeanor, appears to be crate trained, and is both dog and people friendly. She’s the kind of girl who would be perfectly content soaking up love and being part of a family. As we continue to get to know Strawberry, we’ll share more about her personality—but one thing is already clear: she’s ready for a family to call her own. Story
This St. Bernard mix defies both odds and expectations.  To meet Shito you would not believe he spent the first year of his life living in a small cage filled with his own feces.  When his "owner" was charged with animal cruelty he graduated to being tied on a chain in the desert heat.  Concerned neighbors came to the rescue of him, his three siblings and two other dogs when the "owner" was arrested and sentenced to time in jail.  Unfortunately, that "freedom" meant cutting them loose to fend for themselves unwilling to be touched by people.  When we got the call we knew we had to help and after a grueling 10 days were able to safely secure them all.   Shito's start was full of fear but his desire to trust and be loved was intense for a dog who had clearly had a rough beginning.  Once safe, his confidence, eagerness to please, absolute desire for affection and food drive blossomed and is a joy to experience.  He LOVES to be touched.  Brushing is his absolute happy place.  He'll meet you with a tail wag, loves to give sweet kisses and will make you smile.  He is a gentle giant but due to his size and young age is still learning feet stay on the ground but is a dream on the leash and sits quick for treats.  He has rarely met a person he didn't love, however, is afraid of little feet so older children only please.  Due to a life fighting to survive he can be around dogs safely but not in the same home or shared space so needs to be your one and only.   He may have had a horrible beginning but he is ready for you to help write his amazing future.  Apply and come meet him today.  You won't regret it. ##2163426##
