Sammy is 3.5 years old and weighs about 53 lbs. He looks Saint Bernard ish, but is definitely NOT the size of one. His story is one that stays with you. He was a well-known street dog living near the beach in Durres, where both tourists and local volunteers fed him every day. He became a familiar, friendly face—one of those dogs everyone looked forward to seeing. Then one day, Sammy showed up with a painful burn on his face. After speaking with neighbors and nearby businesses, it’s believed someone threw a chemical on him. It’s the kind of cruelty that happens when a good, trusting dog crosses paths with the wrong person. Because the person responsible is still in that area, returning Sammy to the streets would mean putting him right back in danger. And yet, despite everything he’s been through, Sammy is still incredibly sweet. He loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and has even met children without any issues. He never lost that gentle, trusting nature. Thankfully, his eyes were not damaged, and his burn has healed beautifully—his fur is already growing back in. Sammy is the definition of resilience. He deserves a safe home where he will never have to wonder if he’s going to be hurt again—only loved.  March 28, 2026, 6:29 pm

Their names are Ty, Tay, Beethoven, and Denali.. They're a terrific litter of Saint Bernard mixes, and boy, are they cute! Their 3-month-old weight is 12-15 puppy pounds but they'll grow to at least 50 pounds. Loved by all at the rescue, they are sweet, energetic, playful and dog friendly. In fact, they love to play with toys with their kennel mates! A delightful family of pups! (Posted 2/15/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip.
