Story
Hi there! My name is Billy Bob, and I’m a 4 year old, 75 pound handsome St. Bernard mix with a heart as big as my paws! I’m a gentle, sweet soul who believes life is best when it’s calm, peaceful, and filled with kindness. I have a very easygoing vibe, and I’m just happy to be around good people who make me feel safe and love. While my exact breed may be unknown- Here's what is certain: the best part of my day is when a human says literally anything to me. "Hi, buddy." "Who's a good boy?" "Ugh, Mondays." Doesn't matter. My tail starts wagging.I'm a chill guy, and a gentleman on a leash. I'll go at your pace — no fuss, just a nice stroll. I do perk up when I see a squirrel. My foster family says I'm the easiest houseguest they've had. I'd like that on my résumé.I'm not looking for a lot. A cozy spot to flop, someone to chat with (I'll wag at all of it), and a good back scratch. My family tree might be a mystery, but my personality is not: sweet, easygoing, and happy to see you. Here's the scoop on my sensitive side: I'm a gentle giant, which means loud noises and sudden commotion can startle me or make me nervous. I'm incredibly polite and love saying hello to everyone — adults, kids, and other dogs — but a hectic household with a revolving door of activity is a bit too much for my low-key vibe. I'm really looking for a peaceful and predictable home — where we can keep things calm, cozy, and drama-free, and where I won't be left alone for long stretches. Here's the thing about quiet dogs like me: we're easy to miss. We're not bouncing off the walls or putting on a big show in our kennel photos. We're just standing there, hoping someone will stop scrolling long enough to say, "Wait...tell me more about that guy."So if you've been waiting for a calm, friendly, easy companion to share a quiet life with, scroll no further. I'm Billy Bob, 4 years young, 75 pounds, and looking good. And I think I'm your guy.Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog.We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org)Thanks so much.
