Story
Freddy has a very interesting story! He was a local stray that was running for weeks. Many people tried to catch him but he was very scared. Eventually Freddy was secured and brought to a local Humane Society. He was extremely underweight and had very sore paws from running for so long. He was never claimed which means he was most likely dumped to fend for himself. Freddy was transferred to us because he needed further evaluation and training. In a short period of time, we have seen Freddy evolve. He is learning to walk on a leash. He is very smart and knows sit and paw already! Freddy is extremely food motivated. He is strong and working on his leash manners. Freddy has extreme fear with strangers, especially tall men. He is looking for a teen or older family that will work on building his confidence. Freddy requires slow introductions to new people, therefore he would do best in a house with not too many visitors. Freddy is being evaluated with dogs and seems to do well with female dogs and also some male dogs that are calm and social.

Story
Anna is a lovely girl who is approximately 11 years old and 65 pounds.  Sadly, her owner had to move where no dogs were allowed.  Times are tough for many people these days especially when it comes to finding affordable housing.   Anna has some health issues that include osteoporosis (back legs, wrists and hips) and hip dysplasia. she has been to our vet and had ex-rays done top to bottom.  She is now on pain meds and Librela shots once a month to help with pain.  She can do stairs and loves to cruise around the foster parent's yard checking out the sights and smells - oh, and barking at people and dogs going by.   Anna also has anxiety challenges when left alone. She barks and paces but does eventually settles (now she is doing better with some meds for anxiety).  Unfortunately, she doesn't walk on a leash and panics if offered a walk (even on a very quiet street) due to living in the country her whole life with access to several acres. She is easy to live with and easy to love, quiet in the house, great with other dogs, housetrained and affectionate.  Has shown no aggression with people, kids or dogs.  Not sure about cats but she is a kind dog overall  Needs an adopter with a house and fenced yard, who has lots of love to share with Hannah AnnaApril 25, 2024, 9:19 am

Story
Moose is currently being fostered in the Newmarket area   This St. Bernard is a sweet 2 year old boy named Moose. He is currently being fostered with another large female dog, an elderly cat, and two children. He was being fostered with a small dog before and was great with him. Moose has experience living with a family before he came into rescue and was only surrendered due his family's life situation. He is fantastic with everyone in the foster home and they have experienced no issues to suggest he was rehomed due to temperament or health. His only issue is his size and the fact he doesn't know he is big. He wants to be a lap dog to the two kids he totally outweighs. The kids still love this goofy boy. He really has a gentle heart and disposition. The foster home doesn't use a crate as they keep the dogs baby gated in the kitchen. Mr. Moose will counter surf given the opportunity but who can resist leftovers. Other than the occasional counter surfing Moose is not destructive and does not guard his toys or food. He is quiet in the house and has been left alone without incident.   April 25, 2024, 9:19 am
