Story
Ebbie is one of our longtime guests, recently reaching the 6-year mark. He lives in his own air-conditioned, heated cottage on the property and has a little courtyard in which to sun himself. But, a shelter is not a home, no matter how "special" your digs are. Everything about Ebbie is solid -- his stature, his energy, the confidence with which he carries himself. He's a guy who attaches deeply to his human, sometimes a little too deeply, causing him to feel like he needs to protect them from strangers. For that reason, Ebbie, 10, would do well in a low-traffic, lower-stress home. He would thrive with a routine and a little structure to his days. He likes knowing what to expect, as do we. He is very loyal and endearing and he adores his shelter friends. He knows his basic commands and is polite and self-assured. He loves to lounge around and take it slow.

Story
Please contact Tammy for more information about this pet.Easy-going family manA Letter from Hector To My Future Family… Hi, it’s me—Hector. You may not know me yet, but I’ve been waiting for you. I’m 9 years old, around 70 lbs, and I’ve spent the last two years hoping someone like you would come along. I’ve had homes before… some good, some not so much. I’ve been returned, lost, and forgotten. Once, I even walked myself back to the shelter gates because, deep down, I knew I deserved better. And I still believe I do. I’m not asking for much—just a soft place to land and someone who means it when they say “forever.” I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I know my commands. I also just got a great health report from the vet. Aside from a little arthritis, I'm healthy as a horse. Yeehaw! I love snuggles, slow strolls, and feeling like I belong. I’m gentle with people and can live with older kids. I get along with some dog friends too—just no cats, please. My caretaker says I’m loyal, low-key, and full of love. I just need a home where I can finally exhale and know I’m safe. Where I can lay my head down and not worry about being left again. So if you're out there—my person, my family—please come find me. I've waited a long time, but I still believe you're coming. Love, Hector See my latest videos: https://bit.ly/findhector Questions? adopt@doggieharmony.org Apply to adopt: www.doggieharmony.org (click Forms) Even if you can’t adopt Hector, please share his story. RubyFemaleStaffordshire Bull TerrierDOB: 2/20/25Adoption Fee: $225Ruby in the house! This beautiful girl is so excited to find her new family! She is a very spunky, happy 6 month old pup who would benefit from consistent training. She would thrive in a home with a structured environment, and she would do well with older kids who could play with her in the yard and help with training. She doesn't quite understand personal space yet, but she just loves being near her favorite people and will be a very loyal dog with the right guidance. We all want the best home for this silly girl, and we're hoping that's going to be you! Stop by today to meet her- you never know, she may become your newest family member!!Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Marissa is a three-year-old, 50-pound staffie terrier mix that is boarding with a rescue partner in S GA. She was initially with another rescue, but she and one of our dogs there, who is very dog-reactive, struck up a friendship, so we asked if we could take her so he would have a buddy. She has been there for a year now, receiving rave reviews and being good with everything. It’s not fair to hold her back longer. We wish for the pair to be adopted together, as they are both well-behaved and good dogs. If not, we hope Marissa can find a home for them. If you would like to foster or adopt her, please go to www.atlantalabrescue.com and apply. ##2479168##

Story
Phoenix is a 4–5-year-old Pitbull mix who came to our emergency hospital after a good Samaritan found her severely injured on the roadside. Her wounds, likely the result of multiple dog bites, required extensive hospitalization and ultimately a leg amputation. Despite everything she endured, Phoenix remained gentle, loving, and resilient throughout her recovery. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives and continues to live life joyfully—her missing leg does not slow her down in the slightest. Unfortunately, due to her past trauma, she is dog-aggressive and must be the only pet in the household. That limitation has made it extremely difficult to find her a suitable home, even though she has touched every heart in our clinic.

Story
Gunter is a 3–4-year-old Pitbull mix (grey and cream) who was found in the summer of 2022, chained to our hospital’s back gate in Union City, Ga. We attempted to contact animal control and local shelters, but unfortunately, no one responded—and several facilities warned that he would likely face euthanasia if surrendered. We chose to care for him ourselves. He was neutered and has remained up to date on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick control. Day to day, Gunter lives in a kennel and enjoys short breaks on our outdoor patio several times a day. He has not been socialized with other animals due to space and safety limitations, so we are unsure of his behavior toward other pets. However, he has shown no aggression toward people and is a favorite among our staff—energetic, affectionate, and eager for companionship once he warms up.
