Story
I acquired her from a friend of my granddaughter when she was six weeks old. The owners were moving and already had the mom and dad as pets. Deborah Ann is three years old. Her birthday is January 1. I am looking for a good home for her because I am eighty years old with chronic back problems. I have had several surgeries, and I am not able to walk Deborah or even play with her in the yard. She is very energetic but very loving. She loves to be rubbed, especially her head and chest. I want Deborah Ann to be in a home where she is properly cared for and loved. That is why I refuse to put her in a county shelter for fear that she would be euthanized.

Story
Easy-going family manHector is a big ol' sweetie who is excellent with kids and knows commands like sit and stay. That's because he was a loved family member until their unfortunate eviction.  But Hector's not letting this get him down. He likes to run around the yard for a quick minute, then is right back next to his humans, ready for pets and belly rubs! Two walks a day would be plenty for this guy.  Hector is food motivated and can learn most anything you'd like to teach him. He would do well in a home as an only pet, as he didn't socialize much with other pets in his previous home. But Hector promises he's not a demanding diva. He's a low-key dude who longs for love and companionship. Age: 7 years   Weight: 75 lbs Temperament: Gets along with all adults, kids and some dogs Training: House and crate-trained, knows some commands. Vetting: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention.   For questions, please email rmaan95@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.   May 8, 2024, 11:53 am

Story
Ebbie is one of our longtime guests, recently reaching the 6-year mark. He lives in his own air-conditioned, heated cottage on the property and has a little courtyard in which to sun himself. But, a shelter is not a home, no matter how "special" your digs are. Everything about Ebbie is solid -- his stature, his energy, the confidence with which he carries himself. He's a guy who attaches deeply to his human, sometimes a little to deeply, causing him to feel like he needs to protect you from the world. For that reason, Ebbie, 9, would do well with one adopter in a low-traffic, lower-stress home. He would thrive with a routine and a little structure to his days. He likes knowing what to expect, as do we. Ebbie would not be a great fit for other dogs or cats in the home, and he needs to be in an adult home. He is very loyal and endearing and he adores his shelter friends. He knows his basic commands and is polite and self-assured. He is pretty active but would be completely happen with a few walks a day to get out and explore.

Story
Meet Potter! This handsome boy is about 4 years old and is a silly guy! He loves to carry his toys when he goes for a walk, loves to play ball, and has a great time cuddling on the couch. He knows tons of tricks and will happily do all of them for a treat. He gets along well with most other dogs and he loves his kitty friends! As sweet as Potter is 99% of the time, he does get startled easily because his vision isn't great. If he is startled or doesn't see someone coming, he can be reactive. Potter would do best in a home with no small children and with a family that understands his limited vision.April 26, 2024, 1:45 pm

Story
Meet handsome Jonas! Don't you just love his ears?! Jonas ended up at the shelter as a lost boy on 2/7, and no one has come to reclaim him. The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know Jonas and they describe him as friendly and energetic! He LOVES treats and will sit nicely for them! We think Jonas will be a quick study as long as treats are involved. If you're looking for a hiking/running buddy, please consider Jonas! Jonas is approximately 4 years old, and he weighs 47 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, tested negative for heart worms and he has been neutered. He will be microchipped upon adoption. Please come meet him in run 803; his ID # is 653530. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Story
Meet handsome Rocco! He was surrendered to the shelter on 5/3 and we don't have any information as to why his people made this decision. The only information they left was stating that Rocco is good with kids. The volunteers describe Rocco as friendly and curious. He is not thrilled to be stuck in the shelter and we'd love to see him find a new, forever home soon. He is an independent boy and is strong on leash, so he'll need someone patient and kind to work with him on leash walking manners. Rocco does sit nicely when asked. Rocco is approximately 4 years old, and he weighs 62 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet Rocco in run 47; his ID # is 657337. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
