Story
Sweet Tennessee is such a lovely kind pup. Her pos owner left her behind when they vacated their apartment. She is fully potty trained, loves car rides, walks beautifully on a leash. Tennessee is that perfect balance of playful puppy energy and cuddle bug. She is only 8 months old and weighs 25 pounds. We are guessing she should weigh 30-32 pounds when fully grown. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

“So, here’s the sitch!” Meet Kim Possible and her brothers, Rufus and Ron. They are Poodle x Cane Corso puppies who will make the ultimutt sidekicks. At 10 weeks old, they are the full package— confident, cute, and cuddly. They will be large breed dogs once they grow up. With the proper training, these 3 will be the gentle giants of your dreams. We were asked to team up with @yourloveunleashed and @onemuttatatimerescuefoundation to help with these three who are part of a litter of a litter of 9. Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Story
Matisse von Marseille is a pure black 3 year old Standard Poodle with a long list of wonderful qualities. Before we share all the amazing things about him, we need to explain that Matisse can become protective in a home. He needs an adult home with someone who knows how to adjust to a dog who needs a pack leader, so he doesn’t feel he needs to protect his people. Our trainer can work with someone willing to learn how to set boundaries for Matisse. At the rescue, he is the perfect dog. He does so well with the structure there with no hint of a problem. He is great in the play group with other dogs and avoids any problems. He is also good meeting everyone. He is so happy and charming, always ready to go out on walks with the staff and other dogs. He is perfect on the leash. In a home, he needs a more controlled environment, so he feels “responsible to you, not for you”. Matisse is super housebroken, knows his commands like "sit", "down", "paw". He can self-entertain himself with his toys and balls, especially with his favorite soccer ball. He is loving and affectionate, but needs people who don’t smother him with affection until the boundaries are set. He sleeps through the night in his crate or would be prefectly fine on a big fluffy bed next to yours. Matisse has so many great qualities and will be the perfect dog in a home with the right owner with whom he will thrive and be a model canine citizen. He is so worth the effort. He asked us to add that he has an aversion to cats, so no kitties please. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Matisse von Marseille YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
