Although S. Korea's new law banning the dog meat consumption is set to go into effect February 2027, and the consumption is all time low, the practice is still in common existence amongst elderly population especially in the rural countryside. No one could tell where this dog would have ended up. Thanks to the rescuers in S. Korea, this pup is longer in danger of getting trapped in dog meat trade! DoVE Project has rescue partners in S. Korea who have their own private shelter and/or foster network. Our dogs stay with either a foster family or a private shelter until they are matched with an adopter in the US. Upon arrival in the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. She is very active and playful, and does best in a home that enjoys regular interaction, walks, and engagement. Like many poodles, she is smart, alert, and deeply bonded to her people. She is excellent with her family and very affectionate once she feels safe. With strangers, Coco can be cautious and may come off as unfriendly at first, but she warms up with patience and consistency. She would thrive with an adopter who understands small-breed dogs and can give her time to build trust. Coco is spayed. She has a skin sensitivity issue and does scratch herself at times; this has been manageable but may benefit from veterinary evaluation, diet adjustments, or allergy management in a stable environment. Due to a recent change in our home situation, we no longer have the space or environment needed to properly care for a pet.
