She’s an incredibly well-mannered puppy for her age and has a laid-back, go-with-the-flow personality that makes her a joy to have around. Whether it’s time for a walk or relaxing at home, Hazel is happy just being with her people. Hazel is affectionate and sweet and loves giving nose boops — and will even let you boop her cute little nose back, as tested by the teens in the home. She is potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps 8 hours through the night on her bed in the crate like a champ. She is truly impressive with some of the best leash manners her foster family has ever seen in a puppy. She eats well and is not a picky eater, and is treat-motivated and eager to please. Hazel attended a 2 week basic obedience training course and it shows as she does not jump on people, plus already knows basic commands like sit, down, and off, with clear potential to learn even more. Hazel is people-oriented and feeds off the energy in the room. Want to play? She’s in. Want to chill? She’ll happily relax on her bed nearby. She loves soft voices, gentle handling, belly rubs, being brushed and is a true little princess with a delicate, loving heart. Socially, Hazel is calm and once she warms up, confident. She’s been walked by neighbors and their kids, met excited dogs (including a bouncy Golden Retriever), and handled it all like a pro — just sitting politely and soaking up the praise. She enjoys doggy daycare, car rides and going bye-bye, and plays well with medium to large dogs. Hazel has never shown aggression or reactive behavior while in her fosters care, even when other dogs bark at her. Out of an abundance of caution, she will not be placed in a home with small dogs, as she didn’t get along with a small 14 year old dog in her previous home, and we want to set her up for success. She thrives with routine, enjoys daily walks (she’ll gladly take as many as you offer!), and would do best in a home where she isn’t left alone all day. Ideal Home- Hazel would be happiest in a home with medium to large dogs or as an only dog where she can soak up all the love.
