Story
Phantom Phillip came to us from a kill shelter in Indiana. This is a nice, friendly boy who is good with people & other dogs. He is very sweet, happy but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. His approx. birth date is 09/09/22 and he currently weighs 49#. This guy came in very matted & will require grooming for life. He has lots of energy. Ideally he goes with someone who wants to exercise him. We are guessing at his doodle mix. He has been vet. checked, neutered, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. He is also heart worm negative. His adoption donation is $550 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with his forever home. ##1774371##

Story
My My Mya came to us from a breeder where she was relinquished by no fault of her own. She simply got too old for the pet store. This is a nice girl who is good with other dogs & with people. She is very sweet but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. Her birth date is 07/11/22 and she currently weighs 23#. Photos were taken after spay surgery & she is still very sleepy. She will be groomed before adoptions & require grooming for life.  This girl is timid and will not be placed with children. She has been vet. checked, spayed,  micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She was heart worm negative. Her adoption donation is $650 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with her forever home. ##1721773##

Story
Johnny Riggins is a 15 year old 24# Doodle. He is looking for somebody to share his Golden Years with. He is basically blind from cataracts but can see light and dark, and shadows close up. He is a bit hard of hearing, which is not uncommon (if human, he’s approx. 78 years young). He struggles with some arthritis for which he takes a vet prescribed chew daily to help with joint pain and discomfort. For all of the above reasons , it is best if he would be in a home with only a few or no stairs. He also requires a fence so he can easily learn his outdoor boundaries. He does best eating a combination of soft and hard food. He has had a complete dental and is feeling more comfortable eating out of a bowl with no more gum or toothaches. Johnny still prefers eating alone with no person or pet watching him.He is potty trained, has absolutely no need for a crate, does well with other dogs, and would assume he is fine with cats also. He loves older children or anyone who will cuddle. He loves being a lap-dog, however he is unable to jump up and will need some help getting on the couch with you. He loves being outside as long as he has a human nearby – he will cry loudly if he believes he is alone. He requires regular grooming, including between his paw pads. His fur is just now returning following a complete shave due to his previous grooming neglect.Johnny will simply sweep you off your feet! Johnny is best buds with Abby Rose. His favorite place is cuddling on a dog bed with Abby. These two have definitely bonded and would prefer to be together. Please consider adopting both!If you are interested in adopting Abby Rose and/or Johnny Riggins please visit our website at www.pawsofadamscounty.com and submit an adoption application. When applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Only complete applications will be considered. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ruby!   * Her adoption fee is $300.00.* She is a 1 year old purebred red Standard Poodle.*PLEASE READ THE FULL BIO BEFORE APPLYING * Ruby came to us from an Amish breeder where she had been abused and then was released to us. She is shy and it takes her time to trust people. *Ruby prefers women over men, but with time it is possible to earn her trust w/ men if they are committed to being consistent with her.  She will NOT do well in a home with children.  She is dog and cat friendly.*Her new home will need someone who can be very patient with her process and give her extra care. *Ruby is a young girl who enjoys adventure.  She has been camping and loves to go backpacking.  She has done moderate to very rugged hiking trips.  She also loves trips to the park and farmer's market! *Ruby is sweet and affectionate and enjoys daily walks with her person. * She is spayed, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations.  She has been started on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  * She is house and crate trained and has basic obedience training.  *Her obedience training will need to be an ongoing task with her new owner.  Ruby has come miles in moving beyond her abusive past, but still has a ways to go.    * She is very content to be close to you but also likes to run and play in the yard.* We are looking for that very special person to make this very special girl part of their home.   * The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
