He came to us from a puppy mill and he’d never known the love from a human or the freedom to run through a yard and sleep in a warm bed. With lots of love and patience, he has learned to trust and love. He plays with toys, loves treats and belly rubs. He is learning to walk on a leash and he plays well with other dogs. Jacques is a 4 year old miniature poodle who is extremely dependent on Yvette, a female 3 year old miniature poodle. Both dogs need a home that is quiet, and they must go together. They are both a beautiful apricot color, and are sweet as they can be. It is obvious they have not had much experience with the world around them, so they will require someone who is willing to take their time to gain their trust.They are not housebroken, but working on it!They would not be a good match with children, or apartment living. Margaret is an X-Puppymill Mom. Margaret and 3 other standard poodles joined out rescue at the end of April 2023. The 'Little Women" stood frozen in the kitchen huddled together for several hours the first day they arrived from the mill. Fast forward three months and they have learned how to be dogs. That being said, Margaret will likely feel very unsafe at the start of her adoptive home. She will need someone with patience and love to let her come along on her own pace. But we expect in a couple of months in her new home she will safe and fully relax into the routine of the house. We feel Margaret will do best in a home with another respectful dog to help her feel safe Margaret must be in a home with a fenced in and gated yard , We consider all dogs to be flight risks but a puppymill dog is more shy and requires more security. Once she feels safe she will delight you with her charming poodle personality. She loves to be pet especially on her head and will sit there next to you for hours! Margaret is fully vetted, She has been spayed, received age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and is heartworm negative, Subsequent vaccines are at the expense of her adopter Her adoption donation is $800.00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family, Little Dogs can live to be 25 years old so she wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse! We adopt in the local Chicago metro area.
