Could you get more perfect?! She gets along with other dogs but would be fine as an only pup too. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly and then is your shadow and best friend. She weighs around 45lbs and will not get any bigger. When we got her, she was super matted and so we shaved her - before and after pics are shown so you can see what her fur looks like! All of our pets are located in Houston TX and will not be transported until adopted.  You will get to video chat with the pup once/if your application is approved.  We are not first-come, first-served but rather strive to match dogs to their best fit homes!  If you are interested, you MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION at www.recycleddogsrescue.org.  The adoption fee is $850 + transport (if applicable).  We cannot guarantee breed, size, or behavior!

Duke is an almost 7-year-old Border Doodle with a big heart, fluffy coat, and lots of energy. He’s incredibly sweet, very smart, and would thrive in a home with space to run and play. He’d excel at tricks or agility and loves both mental and physical activity. Duke is healthy and adores belly rubs, couch snuggles, and praise, talk sweetly to him and he turns into the wiggliest, happiest boy. He is leash reactive but friendly with dogs off-leash. Due to separation anxiety, he’d do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Not suited for apartment living, he needs a yard or easy outdoor access. I’ll also send him with all his high-quality belongings: bed, toys, crate, food, and more. Because of my busy travel schedule, he deserves a home with more time and consistency. If you’re active, affectionate, and don’t mind kisses, Duke may be your perfect match! 💛

**WALTER IS ADOPTED!** Are you an adventurous soul seeking a four-legged friend to join your adventures? Look no further than Walter, an energetic and playful pup who is always up for a good time! This curious and intelligent 8-month-old Standard Poodle is eager to explore the world and won't rest until he's sniffed out every secret spot on your next camping trip. Walter found his way to Pal's Place after being surrendered to a local veterinary clinic when his previous guardians realized they weren't prepared to handle the commitment that comes with caring for a young puppy. An untreated skin infection he developed as a very young pup has left some superficial scarring on his face, and we are unsure if those areas will ever re-grow fur. Walter doesn't seem to mind one bit, though, and he actually thinks the scarring makes him look cool and gives him some street cred. Walter is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and dogs and is always up for a game of fetch or a good old-fashioned belly rub. He's an outgoing, fun-loving goofball with a heart of gold and an endless supply of enthusiasm. He's the perfect companion for those who want an active and curious buddy to join them on hikes, runs, bike rides, or even just a trip to the park. With his boundless energy and playful spirit, Walter will keep you on your toes and bring endless laughter into your life. He loves other dogs and thrives in their company. He will do best in a home with at least one other playful dog as a companion. Walter likes to use his voice and can be a chatty Cathy at times, so no apartments, condos, or units that share walls with neighbors. D Litter - Donut (F), Dumpling (F), Dunkin’ (M) 12 weeks old 10lbs Breed Guess: Poodle Mixes What We Know: Donut, Dumpling and Dunkin’ came from a home with their mom Curly (14lb grey poodle mix) and dad Prince (14lb black fluffy mix) when their people could no longer care for their animals. Dumpling is almost identical to her papa Price, while Dunkin is the male duplicate with tiny widgey legs, and sweet Donut doesn’t know where she got her adorable looks from! They are three of the sweetest puppies you could ever hope to meet! They are so gentle and well-socialized. They all love to be held and have the best time running and playing. While we’re not certain on their breed mixes, both mom and dad are smaller breeds, so we anticipate them staying on the smaller side once grown. What We’re Unsure About: We can’t guarantee breeds or ages, but we do our very best to guesstimate. In the shelter environment, we never know if a dog is housebroken or not, but we work on getting every dog to potty outside during their time with us. It’s important to anticipate needing to do all basic training.

Sundae is a standard poodle puppy born 9/15/24 . He is a spirited little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us but he will need a patient family to go slowly and let him gain his trust.. He will blossom with time and patience. Sundae needs a home with a secure fenced in yard for his potty place, He is not a dog for an apartment or condo setting. He must have a home with another dog buddy to show him the ropes and give him confidence, Dogs born in commercial breeding facilities understand dogs better than people, A respectful adult dog will give him a lead to follow, He loves to play with his mate. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Marshmallow important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Sundae is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200.00. Yoshi needs a good home with an experienced dog owner, as he still requires training. He has had introductory puppy training classes, learning basic commands and house training in process. Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. 1-17-2026 Update for Marty Marty is doing really well in his foster home and is still a spunky little man with a bit of arthritis in his backend but it doesn't slow him down. Marty's hearing continues to be pretty good for his age and he is right in the mix of his foster siblings when Mom comes home after being out for any time. Marty's hair has grown in nicely on his back. He was almost bald when he came to his foster home. Marty's foster mom had never seen a change in a foster's personality quite as drastic as she did following Marty's dental, when all of his teeth had to be removed. Some teeth were so badly decayed that they had begun to calcify and attach to his jaw bones. After a few days of recovery, he began to eat and to be interested in the world. Marty eats soaked kibble with some soft food mixed in and eats every bite of each meal. He is now on 4 medications for his congestive heart failure and is doing very well with just an occasional cough. Fun facts about Marty: -He LOVES burrowing into beds that have a flap for him to crawl under -He is not safe when on furniture because he will quickly decide he wants off and give no warning and has no fear. -Marty never barks -Marty is smaller than the two cats in his foster home and really doesn't care. :) Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Jacob is a tiny little puppy know as a Chorkiepoo, a chihuahua/yorkie and Poodle pup. He is a spirited little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us. He is a happy guy who loves to play with his mates. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. He does like to vocalize so he will be best suited for a home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Jacob is a little guy causing him to be more fragile, He can't be in a home with little kids but would be fine with older kids. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Jacob important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Jacob is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $600..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Liam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits.
