Story
Meet Lulu — a soft, gentle soul with a heart full of love and a PhD in cozy living. At around 11 years old, Lulu has fully embraced the art of the slow, sweet life. She isn’t here for chaos or constant motion—she’s here for the good stuff: warm blankets, quiet afternoons, soft pets, and being close to her person. If you’ve ever wished for a companion who will happily curl up beside you and make your home feel instantly calmer, Lulu is exactly that kind of dog. Her favorite hobby? Finding the comfiest spot in the house and settling in like she’s been waiting for it all day. A couch, a dog bed, a sunny patch on the floor—it’s all fair game, and she makes each spot look like the coziest place on earth. Add in some gentle pets and kind words, and you’ll see her completely melt. Lulu doesn’t ask for much, but what she gives in return is something really special. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/2cRUskYyRO8?si=EAUx899WdQskmUu8 She is incredibly loving and affectionate, the kind of dog who bonds deeply and just wants to be near you. There’s something about senior dogs like Lulu—they have this quiet understanding, this calm presence that feels like comfort in its purest form. She’s not trying to figure life out anymore; she already knows what matters, and that’s love, safety, and companionship. Lulu is also wonderfully easygoing. She does great with other dogs and has been around children ages 5-8 and has proven to be gentle and sweet. She’s currently thriving in her foster home, soaking up all the love and showing just how adaptable and kind she truly is. She’s not demanding, not high-energy, not complicated—she’s just… good. With kids, we do believe that she would do best living with kids 8+. Older kids that can understand her calmer personality. If you have grandkids that come over to visit, that is totally fine as it won't be an everyday thing. She did great meeting a 5 year old girl and was so gentle around her. Lulu is just an older gal and likes for her general everyday to be on the calmer side. Adopting a senior dog like Lulu is something truly meaningful. These dogs don’t get enough attention, but they are often the most grateful, the most loyal, and the most loving companions you could ever hope for. Lulu isn’t going to chew up your shoes or bounce off the walls—she’s going to quietly become your shadow, your comfort, your little piece of peace at the end of a long day. She’s already grown into the perfect companion; she just needs someone to share that life with. LuLu is deaf and we believe she may have some limited vision, but she is a sweet soul who deserves the world. There’s a softness to Lulu that you can feel immediately. Maybe it’s in her gentle eyes, or the way she settles so easily beside you, or how she leans into affection like it’s her favorite thing in the world. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to impress you—she just wins you over by being exactly who she is. All Lulu wants is a loving home where she can spend her days doing what she does best: cuddling, resting, and being adored. In return, she’ll give you unwavering love, quiet companionship, and a kind of warmth that only a dog like her can bring. If you have a soft spot for the underdogs, for the gentle hearts, for the ones who just want a place to belong—Lulu is waiting for you. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This very mellow fellow is the greatest mild mannered companion you would want.  He knows all of his commands and very smart to learn more.  NOODLES is 2 years old and 55 pounds.  He was abandoned in a city park by his owners and they must have loved him at one point and spent a lot of time with him because he is very into his humans, knows commands and well behaved.  Unfortunately he was very matted and needed to be shaved down to make him feel better instead of properly groomed. He walks very well on a leash and rides in the car without getting sick.  He is not high energy but he really enjoys going on walks and he does not pull the leash.  One of the pictures is what he looked like when found and before he was groomed. NOODLES is a doodle and can be mistaken for a pure breed Standard Poodle.  He is crate trained and house trained. If you are interested in adopting NOODLES, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         June 21, 2026, 9:46 am

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.Okay, GRACIE does not look too beautiful in these pictures but she is in person and her soul is really beautiful.  GRACIE is a wonderful dog who I rescued from the streets of San Antonio, TX.  She had been hanging out at a bank, just sitting there waiting for someone to rescue her.  She was so happy to be saved.  She is for sure a very loyal and loving dog. I am going to try to groom her this weekend and get better pictures of her but she is an all black dog and those pictures are hard to take and to make them clear.  Her coat is wavy/curly and she does allow you to groom her and she takes a good bath.  GRACIE is a poodle/terrier mix who is 3 years old and 51 pounds. GRACIE's main purpose in life is to play.  She would do best in a home with another dog as a playmate.  For sure she would occupy that dog's time and energy!  GRACIE plays, eats and sleeps to get ready to play again.  She deserves a second chance at having a loving home.  I wish I knew why she was tossed away on the streets because she is such a good girl and I have no problems out of her. She loves to go on walks or do anything that involves receiving love.  She is really a pets pet and will not bother you around the house.  I have on good thoughts and great things to say about her. If you are interested in adopted GRACIE, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This is BIRDIE, she was given that name by the family who found her because her barks sounds like bird chirps and she is not a barker so I rarely get to hear her chirp!  If there was a name I could give her for happy and sweet I would name her that because she is just happy all the time and super sweet.  She totally gets along with everyone and tries to play with all of the dogs big and small. BIRDIE will get groomed on Thursday and I will update the 'after' pictures once she is groomed.  She is 2 years old and 40 pounds and a bit underweight.  She could stand to gain at least 5-10 pounds.  I think BIRDIE is a small large- medium size dog, not really the tall standard poodle height or weight.  Her color is cream and she takes a bath really well. She walks very well on a leash, jumps in the car and rides without getting sick.  BIRDIE is happy to meet everyone.  This is a great dog who deserves a 2nd chance at a good forever home.  She was found wandering a neighborhood and posted on social media for a while trying to find her owners but no one ever came forward.  She was not microchipped but she is now. Story
-Redman Milo is everything people love about a Doodle—a happy, affectionate, people-oriented companion whose greatest joy in life is simply being with his humans. At 2 years old and 55 pounds, he’s the perfect age: past the tiny puppy stage but still young, playful, and ready for a lifetime of adventures with the family he deserves. Milo isn’t looking for a new home because of behavior issues. In fact, he’s a wonderful dog. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, well-mannered, and thrives on love and attention. His heart is happiest when he’s close to his people, soaking up every ear scratch, belly rub, and kind word. Sadly, Milo’s family has experienced a major life change. His dad’s job now requires extensive travel as a construction worker, and the entire family must travel with him. That leaves Milo spending long stretches in boarding, and the financial burden has simply become too much. They have made the heartbreaking decision to find him a stable, loving home where he can finally settle in and never have to wonder where he belongs again. Milo’s ideal family will have the time to include him in everyday life. He would love a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and enjoy the outdoors before coming inside to relax with his favorite people. Whether it’s walks, weekend adventures, or quiet evenings on the couch, Milo simply wants to be part of the family. If you’ve been searching for a loyal companion who will greet you with a wagging tail, unconditional love, and endless devotion, Redman Milo may be the one you’ve been waiting for. He has so much love to give and is hoping his next home will truly be his forever home. Could you be the family he’s watching and waiting for? If you can offer Redman Milo the loving, permanent home he deserves, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. He’s ready to leave this chapter behind and begin the happiest one of his life—with you.     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 21, 2026, 9:42 am

Story
OTHER PETS: Raisin is nervous around other dogs, and will likely do best in a home where she can be the star of the show without the stress of other animal interactions. She will pass by other dogs without issue, but will bark and growl to create space when they get too close for her liking. [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn, Raisin would likely be a great first time dog for someone who can be committed to a routine grooming schedule and allowing her to slowly decompress. [First Dog]KIDS: Raisin is a generally a relaxed and friendly dog, but she does have her moments of feeling worried where she would benefit from a more predictable, quiet environment. She could potentially make a good family dog for kids that are old enough to understand how to interact with her appropriately, when to give her space, and active supervision by adults is crucial while watching body language. To learn more about body language: https://www.tjoconnoradoptioncenter.com/resources/dog-resources [10+ Must Meet First]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Raisin has been a fairly laid-back dog during her stay here in the shelter, but as she settles and becomes more comfortable in a home environment it's possible that she could become more active and playful. At the moment, though, she's more than happy to jump up onto her favorite person's lap and watch the world from afar. Providing regular/appropriate exercise and playtime combined with mental enrichment such as food puzzles and games will help meet her needs. [Couch Potato / Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement will help Raisin learn new skills and fun tricks while building confidence, and will go a long way in increasing the bond with her humans. [Minimal]GROOMING: Due to her coat type and texture, Raisin will require routine brushing in order to ensure that she does not become matted. Professional grooming appointments every 6-8 weeks will also be needed to keep her clean and comfortable. [Professional Grooming]June 20, 2026, 4:49 pm
