Meet beautiful LULU, she is a 7 month old pure breed Standard Parti-Poodle.  She weighs 34 pounds and expected to be at least 50 pounds as an adult.  As a standard poodle she will be tall. She is white and light brown. LULU is such a sweet and calm dog who is really low maintenance on a daily basis.  She loves playing with the other dogs in my home and her best buddies and 2 tiny chihuahua's. She is housetrained, potty trained and crate trained and totally trusted in the house while I am gone.  She is counter curious and will steal food that is left where she can reach it.  I have stairs and she has yet to climb them to follow us. If you are interested in adopting LULU please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This doodle is CHRISSY, she is about 1 1/2 years old and 44 pounds but underweight.  She has a good appetite and should gain the weight she needs pretty quickly.  She is active but knows how to calm down and rest when I am resting or on my laptop.  She really likes to hang around me but does not cause a stir if I put her in her area while I am dealing with the other dogs. CHRISSY gets along with all of the dogs in my home and I mostly have small breeds here right now.  I do not have any cats in my home so I am not sure how she would do with them.  She seems to mind her own business and follows directions pretty well. She can be a little bit apprehensive on the leash when you first get started but after about 2-3 minutes she will walk next to you you.  She does not get car sick.  She did great getting groomed and her coat is mostly curly when grown out. She was matted when I got her so I had to have her shaved down.  But it'll grow out fast in no time.  She will probably need to be groomed every 8 weeks. CHRISSY does not really play with the smaller dogs but she watches them and she has not picked up a toy.  She likes treats, bully sticks though.  There is no aggression in her in any area and she is a good companion.  She does like to run zoomies in the yards. More pictures are available.   If you are interested in adopting CHRISSY please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Story
Baby Cakes is a 7 month old female Poodle/German Shepard mix who weighs around 28 lbs. Her hair was completely matted and a mess after coming into the rescue so she had to be shaved and her hair is still growing back. She plays well with other dogs but can be a bit shy at first. She is very sweet and loving once she warms up. Baby Cakes loves to run around with other dogs and wrestle in the yard. She does like squeaky toys and is treat motivated. She also crates extremely well when traveling. Baby Cakes is spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. Story
She's my Dixie Belle! Just like the song lyrics, this is a lovely and sweet gal. Dixie Belle is a 7 year old Standard Poodle mix (supposedly her mother was known and our best guess is that there is German Shorthaired Pointer in there as well - we will be performing a DNA test on her for more information since she's not telling us who her daddy was). She weighs 35lbs and true to a Southern lady, is a polite and dainty gal. Dixie Belle wants nothing more than to spend time with her people - she will do best in a home where she will have human companionship most of the day. She is perfectly housetrained and loves to go for walks and play fetch with squeaky balls. Dixie Belle is used to being the only dog in the home, although she may consider sharing her space with a calm, friendly pup. She has happily shared space with older children as well. To learn how to make Dixie Belle your next 4-legged family member, please contact Tracey at tracey.d@poainc.org AND complete an application found at www.poainc.org.

Story
Name: Snoop Dogg Nicknames: Snoop. D O Double G (duh.) Baby Boy. Big Man. Snoop snoop snoop dawg (specifically with the w). Breed: Long-haired, fluffy Pitbull. Otherwise known as Poodle/Golden/Pitbull. Yes, yes he is. Age: 1 year Weight: 80 lbs. Sex: Male Before OMD: Brought to the city shelter due to landlord issues. When we heard he was so nervous with the shelter volunteers but kept trying to sweetly give paw, our hearts melted. Energy Level: Medium. He does have energy (he's only 1 after all!) and he's certainly not as chill as his namesake, but with daily exercise he settles well. Tag line: He is beauty, but he is not grace. Descriptors: VGB (very good boy). Good-hearted. Smart. Goofy. Awkward. What we love most: Well of course the whole "I'm nervous. I'm unsure. I don't know you and I don't know what to do, so I will give you my paw" clincher. When he stares up at his person until they start petting him and he leans into the pets. His zooming skills. What he loves most: Cuddles (he's determined to be a lap dog). Pets. Treats. Balls. Working on: He is a smart cookie so he's picking up on commands and tricks quickly. He takes treats gently. Dream on leash...after you finish the chase game of trying to first get him on the leash. Dogs: Yep! He has played in daycare many times. He was initially a mounter with certain dogs, but we are hopeful his recent neuter will fix that. Cats: Not yet tested. Kids: Dog-savvy older kids only since he has not interacted with kids while in rescue and he is still working on his exuberance and jumping when excited House-trained: Snoop is currently hanging at one of our boarding/daycare partners and we can't say for sure what his level of housebreaking will be when he integrates back into a home. His family should be prepared to take him out frequently initially and build a routine. Crate trained: Yes! Snoop Dogg is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT, IL, and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.

A stunning and sweet Pyredoodle? Yes please! Meet Oreo. Smart and sweet with LONG legs, this girl is chill, gentle and a just little hesitant at first. She just adores soft places and cushy blankets. Not too dignified for a little unsanctioned counter surfing (I mean, so tempting). This long, tall lady (but still trim and fit) is athletic and loves playing with her foster sister and sometimes with resident dog. She's ready to meet her new best friend who will give her all the gentle affection she deserves. And she will love you truly and forever. May 5, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
This is a courtesy post Please contact Donna at dogrescue@gmail.com or text her at 203-340-5912 Peter is a 4 ½ year old male dog who is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He was adopted by his family when he was just 10 weeks old and is believed to be a poodle pointer. He has lots of energy and loves to play. Peter is a fun loving guy who loves to: Play fetch Sit in his pool Swim in any kinds of water Go on walks/hikes with his family Chase the hose outside Being outdoors Chase birds, rabbits and squirrels (He has yet to catch one, but continues to try) He is very social with company that comes over to visit Loves sitting at his front door with it open watching the traffic/people go by Loves sleeping in his crate at night Can leave him home all day and will not chew objects in home He loves having jobs and working Peter is considered special needs due to his high anxiety. Due to his family having a toddler, his family has made the difficult decision that Peter needs a home with less noise and more space. He is a very skittish dog who needs to be with someone who understands his high needs. Peter worked with a trainer for a year - is great with the commands: Sit Come Down Place Stay Leave it No Quirks: Food aggression (He loves finding his food in the house and is given space when he eats and does great) Resource Guarding Tight Spaces (He becomes uncomfortable and can become reactive if felt threatened) Sleep startled (He has a space in his home where he knows he can go sleep and not be bothered) Peter needs a special home equipped to work with him on easing his anxieties. His adopter will receive a training package with his current trainer to allow for a smooth transition. His family is willing to help with any transition as well. He would benefit from a family who has land for him to roam. Due to his high anxiety, he would do best in a home with adults only and no other dogs. (Although he does well with other dogs especially females)
