We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. Story
Agate’s health & wellbeing is evaluated by a private vet clinic local to me at least twice a year. This includes Bordetella and Canine Influenza twice a year instead of once a year in addition to the recommended annual vaccinations and heartworm check. I will send with you next monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Agate loves to snuggle, play & toys. She is used to central air conditioning. Single dwelling with fenced yard is a must - not an apartment nor condo because Agate will bark at noises in which she cannot immediately inspect, especially if she cannot see who is talking. Agate is a merle poodle that thinks she is a doodle. The right thing to do is find her a home with an owner over 35 to under the age 60 preferably an active family. Agate loves to go for hikes on a leash since 8 weeks old. Always ready for a car ride. Travels well long distances in a car if she is allowed to potty every three to four hours.

Story
Eddie is a Irish setter doodle! He is definitely a people person. He loves to snuggle, be pet and have nap time with his human. Eddie is crate and potty trained. He loves to be outside. He is anxious a bit in the car, so a seatbelt harness is helpful. He is working on leash handling with his trainer. Eddie would do best in a single dog household, but he is working with his trainer on being respectful of other dogs. Eddie is very sweet and inquisitive, he loves to watch tv. He always wants to know where his human is and likes to spend time with them. Eddie would be a great addition to your household!Estimated birthday~~6/1/21_____Standard and Special Breed adoption fees includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please click on the links for adoption application and more information:paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formpaawarren.orgwww.avocato.org***PAAW’s Avocato Catfe’ is open in Farmington Hills! Story
Meet Ben: Certified Hug Expert! Ben is proof that sometimes all a dog needs is someone willing to see their potential. Ben is a Poodle mix (possibly with lab) who is around 3 years old and 70 pounds. He's house trained, kennel trained, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, will be microchipped, and neuter scheduled. Ben has an enormous heart and so much love to give. His favorite thing in the world is being close to his people, especially if it means giving one of his signature gentle hugs. He's incredibly affectionate with goofy, enthusiastic energy and does wonderfully with other dogs - he's very tolerant and enjoys canine companionship. Before coming into our care, Ben had a difficult start to life... He was underweight, suffering from significant skin and coat issues, and desperately in need of medical care and compassion. His coat is starting to recover, and every day he looks and feels a little more like the dog he was always meant to be. Prior to us, Ben was unfortunately recommended for behavioral euthanasia. Thankfully, our trainer saw the dog Ben truly was beneath everything he'd been through. Given time to decompress with structure and guidance, Ben has shown just how eager he is to learn and how deeply he wants to connect with people. He responds well to training - he's making great progress and listens well when redirected. We've identified some resource guarding that we're addressing, and Ben has been responsive to guidance. Ben is available as a foster-to-adopt. The foster period is free and gives everyone the opportunity to ensure it's the right fit while we continue supporting his success. If you're looking for a dog with endless love to give and you're willing to continue helping him become the very best version of himself, Ben just might be your perfect match! -About 3 years old, 70 lbs -Poodle mix (possibly with lab) -House-trained, kennel-trained -Great with other dogs -Cats and children are unknown at this time -Currently in training and responds well to guidance -Up to date on vaccines, HW negative -Will be microchipped and neuter is scheduled -Foster-to-adopt; adoption fee will be $250 -Located in Lapeer County, MI Apply here if interested!! https://form.jotform.com/252927582638167
