Daphne is a 1 year old parti-colored standard poodle who is looking for her forever home. She is the best girl! Loving and sweet and very willing to please! She is potty trained and is starting to use the doggy door. She likes to play when she is outside and needs to be reminded to potty before going in. She is kennel trained and sleeps through the night. She loves other dogs, so another active doggy companion would be a plus for her. She needs a fenced in yard as well because she loves to run. She rides well in the car. Her leash manners could use a little work, but she is a quick learner and catches on fast. She is a bit of a jumper when she first starts walking an needs a couple of minutes to settle down. She loves to snuggle and be close to her people. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
