Story
MeShell MaBelle is a story of quiet endurance and beautiful transformation. At three years old and 60 pounds, this striking black Standard Poodle embodies everything people love about the breed — intelligence, sensitivity, and a deep emotional awareness of her people. For much of her early life, MeShell tried to be content with limited interaction and long hours alone. While she loved her family, the lack of stimulation and extended crate confinement placed stress on her gentle system, eventually leading to a diagnosis of Addison’s Disease — a condition that is very manageable, especially in a home built on routine, consistency, and love. Everything changed when MeShell entered foster care. Surrounded for the first time by open skies, fresh air, and patient guidance, she began discovering what life could be. On a lively farm filled with dogs of all sizes, curious cats, horses, donkeys, and even pigs, MeShell absorbed new experiences with quiet determination. She learned how to play, how to relax in the presence of others, and how to take joy in simple freedoms — running through tall grass, resting near trusted humans, and curling up beside a canine companion at the end of the day. Today, MeShell is a happy, affectionate, and energetic girl who thrives on companionship and gentle structure. She is deeply people-oriented and does best when she is included, seen, and emotionally connected to her humans. Her care needs are straightforward: a daily pill, a once-monthly injection, and a lifelong promise that she will never again be overlooked. What she gives in return is immeasurable — loyalty, intelligence, and a love that feels steady, intentional, and profoundly sincere. MeShell MaBelle is ready to leave her past behind and step fully into a future where she is cherished as both a companion and a soul. If you feel a pull toward a dog who has known hardship but still offers her whole heart, she may be the one you’ve been waiting for. To learn more about adopting MeShell, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and include your location when inquiring. Adoptions are available to Tennessee residents, with regular transport offered to families in the northeastern states. Story
Snowball is a handsome 3-year-old, 65-pound Pyredoodle (Great Pyrenees / Poodle mix) with a big personality and an equally big heart for the right home. This boy truly knows how to fit in with his people. Snowball can happily go with the flow—content to lounge on the sofa during a Netflix-and-chill evening, but just as excited to join in when it’s time to head outdoors. He rides wonderfully in the car, did great for his bath, and absolutely loves the snow and tennis balls. He already knows how to sit and politely offer his paw, walks beautifully on leash, and was calm and non-reactive when seeing other dogs on walks. He is also fully crate trained and enjoys settling in for the night—especially if that means sleeping in bed with his humans. Snowball’s former owner affectionately described him as “95% the perfect dog,” and it’s easy to see why. He’s affectionate, adaptable, and bonds closely with his people. Snowball will thrive best in a calm, adult-only home with an experienced and confident owner who understands canine behavior. He can show some resource guarding, particularly around food and occasionally during play, and benefits from clear boundaries and thoughtful management. In his previous home, Snowball struggled with the busy energy of young children, which ultimately led to his surrender. For everyone’s safety and success, he is not a good match for a home with young kids. We believe Snowball is a Pyredoodle, and his ideal adopter will understand typical Great Pyrenees traits—including independence, stubborn streaks, and food guarding tendencies—and be willing to manage these behaviors thoughtfully and consistently.  Snowball is looking for a calm, structured home where boundaries are respected, routines are consistent, and his wonderful qualities can truly shine. In the right environment, he has the potential to be an incredibly loyal, loving companion. If you are interested in adopting Snowball, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** February 13, 2026, 1:29 pm

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 12/26/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bentley does have some dental tartar, as noted in his vet records. He will likely need a dental in the next 12-18 months. Weight: 61.7 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes - Bentely has never lived without a fenced in yard and needs leash training. Bentley requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Bentley is looking for a calm, mellow, and predictable home environment where he can settle in at his own pace. Loud or constantly changing surroundings may be overwhelming for him, and he will need time to adjust and feel secure in his new space. With a peaceful home, understanding adopters, and a steady routine, Bentley has all the potential to blossom into a devoted, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with quiet loyalty and love.  Bentley would truly thrive in a home with another dog, as he gains confidence by following the lead of more social companions. However, an experienced home familiar with timid or rescue dogs could also be a great fit, provided he continues to have regular, positive interactions with other dogs outside the home. What is my personality like? Bentley is a 3-year-old, 60-pound Standard Poodle with a gentle spirit and a warm, happy smile that instantly draws you in. Sweet and kind by nature, Bentley carries himself with a quiet confidence and a calm presence that makes him easy to be around and easy to love. He does well with other dogs and is comfortable holding his own, though he prefers polite, respectful canine companions and is not a fan of overly pushy dogs. While he often looks to other dogs for reassurance, Bentley is also capable of exploring and building confidence independently once he feels safe. Bentley has been groomed regularly throughout his life and does very well on the grooming table, making routine care a smooth and stress-free experience.  How do I act when I first meet new people? As Bentley has never truly lived life as a household pet, everything about being in a home will be new to him. He will need time, patience, and gentle guidance to understand what it means to live indoors, follow daily routines, and learn basic house manners and training. Other tips and tidbits: Bentley's birthday is 07/24/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Honey of Earl is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Honey is a labradoodle. We does shed. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic. Weight:73 lbs Height: 24in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Honey requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Home life is still new to Honey, and she will need time, patience, and guidance as she learns routines, house manners, and expectations. She will benefit greatly from consistent, positive training and a family willing to help her navigate this new chapter with kindness and structure. Because Honey is energetic and enthusiastic, she would do best in a home with older children who can match her size and confidence. Her joyful, bouncy nature may be a bit much for very young kids, as she could accidentally knock them over during play. Honey has been tested with cats and thinks they are pretty cool. She would be fine in a home with cats. What is my personality like? Honey arrived in rescue after her human mother died. Honey is a strong, confident girl with a steady presence and a heart that’s ready to connect. She has raised puppies before and knows how to communicate clearly with other dogs, setting respectful boundaries without being reactive or unkind. Honey carries herself with natural leadership and a calm assurance that makes her easy to trust. Honey is a 3-year-old Lab–Poodle mix who truly enjoys being outdoors. Having spent much of her life outside, she’s happiest when she has room to move, explore, and breathe in the fresh air. She would love an active lifestyle filled with walks, hikes, and everyday adventures alongside her people. Honey is ready for a life where she can be both guided and loved - where her confidence is respected and her heart has room to open fully. With the right home, she has everything it takes to become a devoted, adventurous, and deeply rewarding companion. How do I act when I first meet new people? At first, Honey may take a moment to warm up to new people. She likes a gentle approach—but once she hears a kind voice and is offered a calm, open hand, her walls melt away. From there, she’s your buddy: loyal, engaged, and happy to be right by your side. Other tips and tidbits:  We were told Honey is 3 years old. We have no paperwork confirming this. We celebrate her birthday 12/2/22.  She is mother to many of the puppies. House trained? Ginger is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Ginger's mom Honey is a labradoodle. Her dad Jackson is a standard poodle. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 61 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? No. Ginger can and will jump a 6-foot fence. She requires a dedicated adopter who can ensure her safety when outdoors. She cannot be left outside alone ever. What kind of home would be best for me? Ginger is looking for a calm, patient home where she can be a companion to an existing dog. She truly thrives with canine companionship and must have another dog in the home to help her feel secure and confident. Ginger is the dog you adopt when your dog needs a dog!  Ginger is still learning that humans are a safe source of love and affection, and she will not be placed in a home with children under 18.  She does best in a quieter environment without the hustle and bustle of young children. Ginger requires an adopter who is experienced in socialization and rehabilitation and understands that some dogs will always be shy and shut down. Ginge will improve but she will most likely never be a social butterfly.  No need for walks.  She would just as soon stay home.   Ginger has never lived in a home before and will need time, patience, and understanding as she learns household routines, expectations, and basic training skills, including walking on a leash. She is a gentle soul who comes around slowly, but once she does, she shows her sweet and affectionate nature. What is my personality like? Ginger has lived a very sheltered life. She spent more time outside than in and human interactions were very limited. You will teach her everything - about companionship, how to be a pet, and what living in a home looks like. It will take time. Likely lots of time.  While Ginger enjoys affection, she will likely always be more of a "dog's dog." She isn't looking to be the center of attention in a large, busy household-instead, she prefers to share love and companionship with another dog. With time, guidance, and a lot of patience, Ginger will grow into the wonderful dog we know she can be. How do I act when I first meet new people? Ginger is timid meeting new people. She is still unsure about people in general. Other tips and tidbits: Ginger's birthday is 10/11/2024 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Yes, Zaire is spayed, up to date on vaccines and has a negative heartworm test. Our best guess is that she is an Australian Shepherd with some doodle mixed in. Only a DNA test will tell. She is not hypoallergenic and will shed. Zaire is an escape artist and cannot be left alone or unattended, ever.  Weight: 67 lb Height: 24in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes,  Adoption Fee: 699$ Fence needed? Yes, but it must be properly reinforced. Zaire can never be left unattended in your yard. She must always be supervised. She is an escape artist, and she will try to get out if left alone.  What kind of home would be best for me? Zaire comes with some very important quirks that her future family must be fully prepared for. Zaire is not a beginner dog. She needs a confident, attentive home that understands her instincts, takes containment seriously, and is committed to keeping her safe. Zaire is an exceptional escape artist with an extremely strong desire to roam. She will attempt to leave her home environment no matter how loving or enriching it is - not out of unhappiness, but because wandering is deeply wired into her. She can defeat wire crates, open doors, pop gate latches, push through fencing, shift panels, and occasionally dig her way out if given the opportunity. Because of this, she requires serious containment - secure fencing, reinforced gates, vigilant door management, and supervision. A tracking collar is strongly recommended for her. Zaire is also strong and assertive with her body, especially when it comes to slipping past legs and through openings. For this reason, she is not a good match for unsteady individuals or young children. While she may be okay in a home with children, caution is advised - kids tend to move in and out frequently, leave doors ajar, or may struggle to physically manage her when she decides it’s time to make an escape. Zaire is friendly and playful with other dogs of all sizes but does not require another dog in the home to be happy, though another dog may help to keep her around.  She sheds and would not be suitable for anyone with allergies. She is also vocal - she talks, howls, and expresses herself regularly - so she would not be a good fit for apartments, condos, or homes with shared walls.  Exercise-wise, Zaire is fairly mellow and does not need excessive physical activity, but she would absolutely enjoy adventures with the right equipment. A secure harness and a non-slip collar (such as a martingale) are essential, as she can easily back out of standard collars. What is my personality like? Zaire is a sweet, friendly girl who is always happy to see you, but she’s not overly pushy or demanding for affection. She enjoys connection on her own terms and has a playful, social personality that makes her fun to be around. She’s generally mellow and easygoing, but sometimes she gets the zoomies and LOVES to run around in a big open yard. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would love the dog park, or doggy daycare. She is great with puppies and smaller dogs. She absolutely thrives on human love and affection and will sit by you all day if you just commit to petting her. She loves food and is very food motivated. How do I act when I first meet new people? Zaire has never met a stranger in her life. For the right person—someone who values vigilance, structure, and preparation—Ziare can be a loyal, entertaining, and deeply engaging companion with a big personality and a love for life.  Other tips and tidbits: Zaire was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on her pre-rescue. Based on her overall health and condition she was estimated at 2.5 years old when she arrived in rescue. We celebrate her birthday 07/12/23 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.
