Russell Scruff has the kind of sweet, scruffy face that makes you want to scoop him up and tell him everything is going to be okay. With his tousled fur, gentle eyes, and quiet little personality, he has a way of pulling at your heart without even trying. He may be a little shy when you first meet him, but watching him gather the courage to take tiny baby steps toward you for affection makes earning his trust feel incredibly special. We believe he may be a Terrier mix, but with animal rescue, breed and age are always a mystery and our best guesses. Whatever his DNA may be, it certainly gave him an irresistible face and the perfect compact size! Russell is dog friendly and is currently being fostered in a home with other dogs, including dogs much bigger than he is. His foster has shared that everyone gets along great together. Having friendly canine companions around may even help Russell feel more comfortable as he settles into a new environment. Personality-wise, Russell is calm, gentle, and incredibly sweet. He is a sensitive little guy who needs a bit of time to warm up, but he wants affection and will slowly work up the courage to ask for it. He’ll take a few careful baby steps toward you, pause to make sure everything is safe, and then inch a little closer until he is finally within ear-scratching distance. It is such a tender, endearing way of asking for love, and once you see it, you’ll want to give him all the scratches he could ever ask for. Russell is crate trained, and his foster has shared that he sleeps through the night in his crate. From what we have seen so far, he also seems to understand where the appropriate place to go potty is. As with any rescue dog entering a new home and routine, he may need a little patience and consistency while he adjusts. Russell would love a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace and learn that he is safe and loved. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Meet Lily! This sweet girl was found as a stray out in eastern Washington and after a much needed groom and vet care, she was transferred to us! She loves everyone and wants to get all the attention from everyone. She has not been tested with cats yet, but that can be arranged. Hi, this is Boomer's story. While I was traveling across Florida in my bus, I found a stray puppy. He was around six months old. I took him in, cleaned him up, got him vaccinated, and treated for fleas. Since then, he's been with me. Part of my family, part of this journey. He's potty trained inside the bus, but I know he would need more structure and consistency in a home. I also have another dog, a service dog who can go everywhere with me. But two dogs make it harder. As much as I love Boomer, I can't afford to keep them both as I try to relocate and get my life in order. Boomer deserves a loving, experienced home where he can be cared for properly. I'm hoping to find that place for him. I belive he is a poddle terrier mix, but I'm not really sure, he doesn't shade, but need a hair cut once every 6 months. He is incredibly handsome dog and he can jump full body very high, he know commands like: sit, down, leave it, drop it and shake.

Lightning! ❤️ Meet Lightning, an incredibly sweet and affectionate Bernese Mountain Dog/Standard Poodle mix who is ready to find his forever family! At about 35 lbs., Lightning is a social, adventurous boy who is full of personality and enthusiasm for life. He loves his people, enjoys being part of the action, and is happiest when he’s included in whatever his family is doing. Lightning has done very well meeting a variety of dogs at the sanctuary. He loves to play, communicates appropriately with other dogs, responds well to boundaries and corrections, and is easy to redirect. He can be an enthusiastic playmate, so canine friends who appreciate his energy and playful style would be a great fit. And if your family loves the outdoors, Lightning is ready to join the fun! He absolutely LOVES the water and would make a wonderful companion for hikes, outdoor adventures, and days spent exploring. He knows some basic cues, listens well, and is very people-oriented, making him eager to engage with his handlers. Lightning came to us with his brother, Mater, and after spending about a month getting to know them, we’ve seen that both boys are confident, social, and comfortable independently. While they enjoy each other, they aren’t reliant on one another and we believe Lightning will thrive having a family of his very own. We think Lightning could do wonderfully with children 8 and over and would thrive with an active family committed to giving him plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection, and opportunities to be included in everyday life. Due to his high energy and play style, we recommend a household with no cats.
