Story
If you are interested in adopting Charlie, please fill out an application at woodscreekrescue.com Charlie is an adorable 8-month-old poodle mix with a playful personality and a love for fetch. This young pup is full of energy and enjoys chasing and retrieving balls, making him a great companion for an active home. As a puppy, Charlie is still learning the ropes and will benefit from continued training and guidance. The good news is that he is eager to learn, responds well to positive reinforcement, and is considered easy to train. Charlie would do best in a home without young children, as he is not comfortable around kids. He thrives with patient adopters who can provide structure, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for play and enrichment. Age: 8 months Breed: Poodle mix Male Good with children: No Favorite activity: Playing ball/fetch Training: Needs continued training but is eager to learn and easy to train

Story
Winlock is a gentle soul, senior dog who survived some really sad neglect in his former home in California. He was rescued out of a home with 10 dogs where the elderly owner was no longer able to care for the dogs. Winlock was overfed to the point he got up to 108 pounds but in the past month he has been doing so good on his weight loss program that he is down to 85 pounds. A healthy weight for him would be 80 pounds and he's making great progress with simple portion control! Despite Winlock's sad past few years, he is a doting boy with big brown eyes that will melt your heart. He was badly matted, had ear infections and painful fox tail seeds embedded in his skin but he is feeling so much better now after a grooming and some vet care. His personality has really started to shine through and he's started initiating fetch with his foster mom - he really loves for you to toss his toy so he can go get it and bring it back to you! - Bonds closely with women and isn't interested in men very much. - Approximately 10 years old and currently 85 pounds - Possibly a Poodle/Irish Wolfhound mix. His fur is long and fluffy but he's currently in a shaved state since he had such bad matting that needed to be alleviated. - Excellent with other dogs both large and small. We would prefer a home with another dog friend for Winlock. He really likes to have a dog buddy. - Polite with the cats he is fostered with and has lived with them successfully for 3 months. - Lower energy and happy to relax around the home. He could be totally content with a stroll around the neighborhood for exercise each day. - Potty trained and no potty accidents while in foster - Good home alone and not destructive - Ideally would do best in a home without a lot of steep stairs. He is on a joint supplement to help support his hips and joint health and many stairs would likely be tough for this boy. - Does need some assistance loading into a vehicle - Easy going, nice dog to live with! Winlock is very thankful for the care he has received and is always smiling and being sweet towards all the people who have helped him so far. Winlock is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, had a dental cleaning in June, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $150 adoption fee Fostered in Beaverton, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR WINLOCK ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
Hi, I'm Mia, a beautiful and graceful Standard Poodle seeking my forever home with loving people. I love to be active and to take a good snooze, too! I am located in Cascadia, OR, about an hour from Corvallis, Sisters, Eugene, Salem and about 2 hours from Portland and Newport. My rescue folks will meet you part way if you come from a distance. I am house trained, ride nicely in the car, love pets and snuggles and am a lovely girl. I seek a calm home without loud voices and a primary handler who is female, though my guy comfort level has grown fast in rescue and I plan on continuing this trajectory in my forever home. I am spayed, micro-chipped, negative fecal tested, and groomed. A great home for me and my must haves include: 1. An owned home with a good sized 5.5 to 6 foot fenced yard. 2. Folks not gone long hours and a primary woman handler at least initially. 3. Active folks who will treat me as a family member and include me in their activities. 4. A calm home with rescue savvy owners. 5. Folks who know the cost of grooming, good nutrition and vet care and are prepared to spend it. 6. I have 10-14 years of life left and seek to spend it in one home with my forever people. 7. Mia will do well in a home with other dogs and will do fine in a home with a dog savvy cat. If you meet the above criteria and think that this lovely girl may make a great new family member, please inquire or apply. To inquire, email: awoofovermyhead@gmail.com with "Mia" in the subject line. Please tell us a bit about yourself and how Mia will fit into your life. To apply, please complete the following application: https://forms.gle/4EmPakQsjoapv2wV8 Non-cigarette smoking homes only, please. Thanks!

Story
Lightning! ❤️ Meet Lightning, an incredibly sweet and affectionate Bernese Mountain Dog/Standard Poodle mix who is ready to find his forever family! At about 35 lbs., Lightning is a social, adventurous boy who is full of personality and enthusiasm for life. He loves his people, enjoys being part of the action, and is happiest when he’s included in whatever his family is doing. Lightning has done very well meeting a variety of dogs at the sanctuary. He loves to play, communicates appropriately with other dogs, responds well to boundaries and corrections, and is easy to redirect. He can be an enthusiastic playmate, so canine friends who appreciate his energy and playful style would be a great fit. And if your family loves the outdoors, Lightning is ready to join the fun! He absolutely LOVES the water and would make a wonderful companion for hikes, outdoor adventures, and days spent exploring. He knows some basic cues, listens well, and is very people-oriented, making him eager to engage with his handlers. Lightning came to us with his brother, Mater, and after spending about a month getting to know them, we’ve seen that both boys are confident, social, and comfortable independently. While they enjoy each other, they aren’t reliant on one another and we believe Lightning will thrive having a family of his very own. We think Lightning could do wonderfully with children 8 and over and would thrive with an active family committed to giving him plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection, and opportunities to be included in everyday life. Due to his high energy and play style, we recommend a household with no cats. If you’ve been dreaming of a loving, goofy, water-loving adventure buddy who is ready to become part of your family, Lightning may be your perfect match! ❤️ Lightning's adoption fee is $295 and he is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply to meet Lightning today!

Story
Poppy is the sweetest purebread golden doodle. We got her when she was just eight weeks old and she’s been around my four kids and other animals and has been great unfortunately with work schedule we are no longer able to give her the love and attention she needs looking for a caring, loving home for her. (She did have a hair cut at the beginning of Summer to stay cool so she does have shorter hair right now then in the photos)
