Meet Layla!
Gentle • Loyal • Loving
Layla is a calm, kind-natured girl with a heart of gold. She’s house-trained, sleeps through the night, and would happily curl up beside you for cuddles once the day is done. While she can be a bit shy at first, her loyalty runs deep—once she bonds with you, she truly becomes your dog.
Layla is being fostered on a farm, so she’s confident around big machinery, gentle with horses, and other animals. She’s smart, food-motivated, and highly trainable, with great recall and wonderful manners. She loves car rides, adores other dogs, and is fantastic with people and kids. No food aggression, just a sweet soul who wants to belong.
She’ll benefit from some leash work (farm life didn’t require much!), and she would thrive in a home with a big family and a confident “model” dog to help guide her as she continues to mature.
Breed: Collie / Retriever / Schnauzer mix
Size: Medium, expected to mature under 50 lbs

Interested in adopting?
1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application
2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call!
3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home
Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.
