If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Meet Pretzel: The Little Miracle with a Big Heart! Hi, I’m Pretzel! I am a super cute, lovable 1 yr old Schnauzer mix pup (approx. DOB 6/1/25). I might be small, but I have a story of huge resilience. I was rescued from a backyard breeder in Pinellas County. When I was first saved, I couldn't walk at all, but I’ve worked so hard, and I am now a happy, zooming puppy who loves life! My Personality I am incredibly sweet and affectionate. Now that I’ve learned how to walk, I love to explore! I am playful, eager to be loved, and just want to be with my people.  I would do best in a home with another dog to play with.  I love to chew on my nylabones and stuffies. My Medical Journey I do have some ongoing bathroom problems, but that doesn’t slow my spirit down! We had an MRI done and unfortunately nothing can be done to fix the problem.  I do my best to go the bathroom outside but sometimes have accidents.  My foster mom sometimes has me wear a belly band. I am looking for a special adopter who can help me continue my journey to becoming as strong as possible. My Ideal Home Other Dogs:  Yes, I get along great with other dogs! Cats:  I don’t mind them at all but sure do like to bark at them Kids:  Because I’m still a young dog and a little "mouthy" when I get excited, I am recommended for a home with mature children. If you are looking for a lovable, brave little companion and are willing to manage my needs, I am ready to be your best friend. Pretzel's adoption fee is $400 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required. NAME:  Willow BREED:  Schnauzer mix SEX:  female COLOR:  black/white AGE:  2 yrs as of Aug 2026 WEIGHT:  14.5 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME: Meet Willow!  Willow is a 2-year-old, 14.5-pound girl who appears to be a Schnauzer mix, although as with so many rescue dogs, her family tree is anybody’s guess! What we already know is that Willow is a friendly girl who enjoys people and has plenty of personality packed into her scruffy little package. Willow loves to run and play and would enjoy a family that gives her opportunities to get out, stretch her legs, and have some fun. She also rides well in the car, so if your idea of a good day includes bringing your canine sidekick along for the adventure, Willow is happy to call shotgun.  She’s also a very smart girl, and luckily for her future family, she LOVES treats. That combination should make her a fun and eager student. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and the right snacks, we think Willow will catch on to new things pretty quickly. When it comes to other dogs, Willow is a little more particular. She can be selective about her canine friends and has a bit of a bossy streak, so she isn’t necessarily looking to join a home where every dog wants to be in charge. Any potential canine roommates will need to be a good personality match. Willow likes her people. She likes her fun. She REALLY likes her treats. And she reserves the right to choose her own friends.  Because Willow is still new to Canine Castaways, we’re continuing to learn about her. We haven’t discovered all of her favorite things, funny quirks, or exactly what her perfect forever home looks like just yet. What we do know is that she’s a fun, active, intelligent little girl who enjoys people, loves to run and play, travels like a champ, and has enough confidence to let you know what she thinks. If you’re looking for a scruffy little sidekick with brains, personality, and an adventurous streak, Willow might be your girl.     If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. NAME:  Kasey BREED:  Schnauzer/Chihuahua SEX:    female  COLOR:  Black/tan AGE:   est at 6 yrs as of July 2026 WEIGHT:  9 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME: Meet Kasey!  Kasey is an approximately 6-year-old Schnauzer/Chihuahua mix weighing just 9 pounds, with a gentle heart and an adorable coat that's as unique as she is. Her body is covered in a wiry coat, while her head is wonderfully soft, making her extra hard to resist when its time for a few gentle pets. When you first meet Kasey, you'll notice she's a little shy. Fast movements and sudden activity can make her nervous, so she appreciates kind voices, gentle hands, and people who let her settle in at her own pace. As she begins to realize she's safe, her sweet personality starts to shine through. Kasey gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company, making her a wonderful addition to a home with a calm canine companion. Since Kasey is still new to Canine Castaways, were continuing to learn more about her every day. Each day brings a little more confidence and another glimpse of the loving little dog she's becoming. Kasey also has a mammary mass that will be removed when she is spayed. Once that's behind her, shell be ready to enjoy the happy, healthy future she deserves. If you're the kind of person who understands that some dogs just need a little extra patience and reassurance, Kasey will reward you with something truly special: the quiet trust and unconditional love of a dog who finally knows she's home. NAME:  Captain Sully BREED:  Schnauzer mix SEX:  male COLOR:  black AGE:  Est DOB 11/2022 WEIGHT:  23 lbs NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Meet Sully!  Sully is an almost 4-year-old Schnauzer mix weighing 24 pounds, and he's searching for the person willing to give him the chance he's been waiting for. Before moving into foster care, Sully spent far too long watching other dogs find homes while wondering when his turn would come. His foster family saw something special in him and decided to give him a chance. Within just a week, Sully began to blossom. The shy, uncertain dog they first brought home quickly learned he was safe. Today, Sully spends his days playing with his foster brothers and sisters, running around the yard, enjoying walks, carrying around his favorite soft toys, and keeping a close eye on the people he loves. He especially enjoys snacks, outdoor adventures, and spending time with his canine friends. Sully gets along very well with other dogs and would likely love a home with a playful canine companion. He seems happiest when he has dog friends to run and play with. While Sully enjoys being close to his people, he's not a dog who needs to be in your lap all day. Instead, he prefers to be nearby. You'll find him at the foot of the bed, beside you on the couch, or resting near your feet while you go about your day. Being close is his way of saying, I love you. Like many dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Sully can be cautious with new people and is sometimes more skeptical of men at first. He also has occasional moments where something seems to trigger old fears, causing him to become anxious or unsure. When that happens, Sully needs patience, understanding, and a little time to work through it. The good news is that once he feels safe, his true personality shines. And that personality is wonderful. Sully enjoys birthday parties, walks, yard time, toys, naps, and simply being part of the family. He sleeps happily on the bed with his foster humans but is also content relaxing in his crate. His foster family describes him as a pretty well-rounded pup who has made incredible progress since leaving the shelter. The ideal home for Sully would have a fenced yard, another friendly dog, no small children, and people who understand that trust is something earned, not rushed. Sully doesn't need someone to rescue him. He needs someone to believe in him. His foster family already does. Now he's hoping his forever family will too. 🍫 Meet Nestle! 🍫 Nestle is a sweet, gentle 12-pound little guy who may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he becomes the most lovable cuddlebug ❤️ He’s the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and then happily settle in for some quality couch time. Nestle enjoys running and playing with his dog friends, especially a good game of Tug-O-War! He’s dog-friendly, cat-friendly, crate trained, and does well when left loose in the house. Because Nestle is shy and can be nervous around people and quick movements, he’s looking for a calm, adult-only home with patient humans who understand that trust takes time. A secure fenced yard and another small, confident dog are a just - Nestle truly blossoms with canine companionship 🐾 Nestle is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. 📍 Tampa, FL 💰 Adoption fee: $200 If you’re looking for a gentle little guy who just needs someone willing to let him come out of his shell, Nestle might be your perfect match. ❤️ Apply to adopt: www.love4pawsfl.org/adopt
