Story
Current Location: Ijamsville, MD Meet Macaroni: The Shy Little Collector 🧸 If you have a quiet home, a playful dog, and a heart full of patience, Macaroni might just be your perfect match. Macaroni is a beautiful black wire-haired Terrier mix with a soul that is slowly learning how to shine. Coming from a difficult hoarding situation, the world can still feel a bit overwhelming for her. She is very shy and cautious when meeting new people, but for the right person, the reward of her trust is worth every second of the wait. Her Personality: Once Macaroni feels safe and opens up, her true "silly girl" side comes out! She’s a quirky, sweet pup who has a hilarious habit of collecting random objects—she loves to keep her favorite "things" close for safekeeping. What Macaroni Needs: - A Canine Guide: Macaroni must have a confident dog sibling in her forever home. She finds her courage by watching other dogs and needs a buddy to show her that life isn't so scary. Need a built-in buddy for Macaroni? Check out her adoptable foster brother, Jaxi, in the link below! https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/OPFH-A-46911 - A Secure Yard: Because she finds the leash quite intimidating, a fenced-in yard is a must. She loves to explore and play at her own pace in a secure space. - Patience & Understanding: Her new family will need to take things slow. She isn’t a "love at first sight" kind of girl, but rather a "love that grows deeper every day" kind of girl. - A Quiet Environment: A calm household without too much hustle and bustle will help her feel most at ease. Macaroni has come a long way, and she’s looking for a special adopter who sees the brave dog she is becoming. Are you ready to show Macaroni what a "happily ever after" feels like?

Story
Meet Ozzy! Say hello to Ozzy, a one-year-old Wire Hair Terrier mix who is quite possibly the sweetest, most loving and most irresistibly charming little guy you are ever going to meet! This smart, playful and utterly devoted boy had a rough start in life but has emerged from it all with a heart so full of love and a spirit so bright that everyone who meets him falls completely and totally head over heels! Ozzy's Story: Ozzy was found abandoned in a rural part of southwest Virginia — scared, lonely and completely on his own. Nobody should ever have to start their story that way and especially not a boy as sweet and wonderful as Ozzy. But here is the most beautiful part — despite everything he went through Ozzy never let it harden his heart. Not even a little bit. This incredible boy came to us with the gentlest temperament, the warmest spirit and more love to give than you could ever imagine. His story is being completely rewritten now and the best chapters are absolutely still to come! Why Ozzy Will Steal Your Heart: Those EYES Though — When Ozzy looks at you it is absolutely over. You can feel through his gaze exactly how deeply and genuinely he cares about his people. It is the kind of look that reaches right into your soul and never lets go Devoted & Loyal — True to his Wire Hair Terrier roots Ozzy forms deep and powerful bonds with his people. When Ozzy loves you he loves you with his whole entire heart completely and without reservation Smart as a Whip — Wire Hair Terriers are famously intelligent and Ozzy is living proof of that! This clever boy picks things up quickly and genuinely loves the process of learning Playful Puppy Energy — Ozzy still has all that wonderful one year old puppy curiosity and enthusiasm that makes every single day feel like a brand new adventure worth exploring Loves Other Dogs — Ozzy is wonderful with other dogs which is saying something considering his foster mom's own dog — who typically does not like other dogs — actually likes Ozzy! That is just how magnetic and wonderful this boy truly is Good with Cats — Ozzy extends his friendly and gentle nature to feline friends too making him a great candidate for a multi pet household Kiss Monster Extraordinaire — Ozzy loves his people SO much that he expresses it through an absolutely generous and enthusiastic kissing policy. Small children might find his level of affectionate enthusiasm a little overwhelming so a home with older kids or adults would suit this loving boy best House Trained — Ozzy knows exactly how to behave in a home environment and takes his house manners very seriously Crate Trained Champion — This incredible boy sleeps in his crate all night long without making a single sound. Not one peep. A truly remarkable quality that every sleep loving human will deeply appreciate Eager Student — Ozzy is actively learning his basic commands and is making wonderful progress every single day. He genuinely wants to please his people and that eagerness makes him an absolute joy to work with Leash Training in Progress — Ozzy is learning to walk beautifully beside you on a leash and is coming along wonderfully. With a little continued patience and consistency this boy is going to be the perfect walking companion World Class Cuddler — When the adventures and the kisses and the play are done Ozzy is absolutely ready to curl up close to his people and snuggle with everything he has got The Wire Hair Terrier Magic: Wire Hair Terriers are known for being devoted, loyal and deeply intelligent family dogs who form powerful and lasting bonds with their caregivers. Ozzy embodies every single one of those beautiful qualities and then adds his own special brand of sweetness and charm right on top. He is genuinely one of a kind. What Ozzy Is Looking For: A loving home where he is cherished and adored A family that appreciates a dog who loves deeply and enthusiastically ‍‍ Older kids or adults who can handle and appreciate his affectionate and kissy nature ⏳ Someone willing to continue his training journey with patience and consistency ️ People who want a cuddly, devoted and loyal companion by their side every single day Ozzy was found alone and scared in the Virginia countryside but those days are behind him now. This sweet, smart and absolutely wonderful boy is ready to leave every bit of that uncertainty behind and spend every single day loving his people with everything he has. He just wants love. He just wants to belong. He just wants to be your boy. And honestly? You could not ask for a better one. Please contact Destiny Sibert (DestinyS@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet scruffy girl ISO fresh start and love! JACKIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Jackie       Best Guess for Breed:  Wire haired terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  4.5 years as of January 2026   SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  43 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Watch this video of Jackie coming to say hi!     Special adoption considerations: Jackie is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Jackie has completed this activity restriction period.    Jackie is Looking For:  Her forever home! This sweet girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. At a bit under five years old, she's past her puppy days but is up for adventure - she's eager for sniffy walks and world exploration with her humans! A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, and lots of snuggles round out her wish list. What do you say? Do you have space in your home and your heart for Jackie? What My Foster Says About Me:  Jackie is very sweet and friendly to people and dogs. She has not had an accident in the house. She is very good in the crate and enjoys playing fetch and tug. She is a higher energy dog, but is well balanced -she is able to settle and nap when left alone. She rarely barks (only at squirrels). She takes feedback on what not to chew very well, and seems like she could be trained further very easily. She is very smart! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Sweet momma, Utopia and her five day old pups were one day away from being euthanized in a small south Texas animal control. Momma was scared and protective of her babies for a few days before she realized they were safe. NOW she is THE sweetest and most loving girl!! She needs a patient family, she is so happy with her foster mom but needs a confident and easy going family. She likely would do best with another confident dog. She wants time to know you before she will relax in your home. She is worth the wait :) She is doing good with potty training and is good with dogs and cats. She likes going for drives and walks good on a leash. She's got the cutest little tuft of fur on her head. She's smart and likes to play. Mama is likely a long haired/wire haired dachshund/terrier mix and the pups have the low rider qualities with heeler markings- ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX adoption only)

Benji is a sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, his loving personality quickly shines through. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like potty training, walking on a leash, and discovering how amazing cozy beds and fun toys can be. If you have a soft spot for scruffy, adorable boys and a heart for helping a pup continue to blossom, Benji is ready to find his forever home and be your loyal little companion Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)
