Rusty is a beautiful, soft tabby girl around 2 years old. She needs a family who is cat knowledgeable and patient. You must earn her trust. Rusty wants lots of love. She will sit and talk to you and come running when you call her. She loves to curl up next to you on the couch. She wants to be your special kitty. But she can be temperamental. She will lightly nip or swat you if she doesn’t like what you are doing or she is just in that type of mood. It does get better as she learns to trust you but doesn’t go away 100%. You can learn to read her cues. She loves to romp around the house with the other cats but when she wants her space will let them know. She does good with well behaved dogs. In early August, Athena needed to be rehomed by someone who worked in a different department than my daughter. We already have two dogs in the home; my other daughter also has a dog. But my daughter asked a friend, and he said they would take her. But he was rough with her. So, my daughter felt she should take the cat without asking me if it was okay. I don't want another pet in the house, as there are two dogs in the home. Athena, we believe, is about 4 months old. She is sweet, playful, and gentle. She likes both kibble and Fancy Feast cat food. She especially likes the soft food. She also prefers cold, filtered water over faucet water. She is housebroken. She likes to be outside, but now it is getting rather cold. She is curious and runs around a lot, so someone would have to be okay with her kitten behaviors.

Raina is a long term resident. When she was brought to the shelter she was fearful and needed time to adapt and to truly feel safe. Though Raina can still be shy, she has a beautifully sweet personality. We do not know if Raina has lived with other animals or honestly, if she has lived in a real home. During her time in the shelter she has not been bothered by the other kitties - introductions should still remain slow! Raina has the softest purrs and enjoys soft head pets. She seems to enjoy being in high spaces and would certainly enjoy having a cat tree of her own! Raina will likely be overwhelmed in busy homes, with small children and rambunctious dogs. She would do best adapting to a smaller, quieter space first in her new home. Though Raina tends to take things slow, she is worth getting to know!
