She is 1 year old and smaller than her brothers, with four tiny white paws and gorgeous tabby stripes. Unlike her silver tabby & white big brother Alder (read about Alder here), she is very shy around new people and loud noises -- she will hide. She has "petting time" once a day and gets super affectionate purring and rubbing into her foster mom as she gets brushed, but she mostly hangs out with her siblings. She is looking to be adopted with her brother Alder. They love playing with toys, bird watching, and running kitty races around the house. He was adopted two years ago, but his adopter recently fell on hard times and reached out to get help rehoming him. So due to no fault of his, Gopher had to return to our care. He is looking for a new forever home! Gopher is a shy boy, but very open to love and affection. He would do fine as a solo pet, but also gets along great with other cats and small dogs. Gravy Boat and her sister Casserole came to the shelter very scared of humans. Gravy’s way of coping was to freeze up and hope the humans wouldn’t notice her (it didn’t work). After spending some time in a foster home, she learned that humans are actually benevolent beings who feed her, pet her, and sometimes even feed and pet her at the same time! It’s easy to get her motor purring by giving her butt scratches while she eats. Everyone loves Gravy Boat but Gravy Boat isn’t for everyone. She loves her foster mom but is still pretty fearful of new people and unfamiliar sounds so it will take some time and patience to earn her trust. She is also a habitual hider and will find tight spaces to shove her little body into. And while she LOVES pets and will cutely follow you around the house, she’s not the biggest cuddler and is easily overwhelmed. Gravy would love to go to a quiet, calm home with her sister, Cassie, so she can keep borrowing some of her bravery and have someone to wrestle with.
