Story
Rocco was adopted as a kitten during kitten season from a local no-kill shelter. He is a bit particular and can come off as shy but once he’s fed and knows he’s in good company, he loves to be in your presence. He’s not super affectionate but doesn’t want it be known that he doesn’t like being alone (very much a - let me sit next to you but you don’t have to pet me - kind of cat). He is currently 5 years old and will be coming from a home that had another cat, and a baby. He took awhile to warm up to the other cat but eventually tolerated his presence. His feelings towards the baby are still unknown but he never showed aggression. Rocco loves food and it’s what wins his heart. He doesn’t require a lot of energy and enjoys his independence.

Story
Clementine (Clem or Clemmy for short) is about 3 years old and was found as a stray kitten when I was in college. She is very playful and affectionate and quick to launch herself at any moving toy or piece of string. She loves to rest nearby others but she's not the biggest cuddler though she may tolerate it for a few minutes! She has lived with other cats, dogs, and kids as young as three. She gets along pretty well with other cats as long as they are given time to smell each other first and they do not pounce on her (she's pretty independent and not the biggest fan of playfighting) and is kennel + litterbox trained. She is NOT a fan of dogs but can learn to tolerate one only if she has space to retreat away from them. She has slept in a cushioned kennel at night due to her zoomies with fluffy bedding, her pillow, and a heated stuffie! She's completely up to date with her shots. I'm looking for someone who can give her the love and affection she deserves; she's an absolute sweetheart!

Story
We have had Peanut for 10 years. He is playful and likes to “knead” blankets on your lap. We do let him outside, but with a harness and leash since his front paws are declawed. He is good with calm dogs. The reason we need to give him up is because he is not good with children and grandchildren are in the home frequently. We are also traveling more and have no one to take care of him.

Story
Lola is a 13-year-old indoor cat I’ve loved since adopting her as a kitten from Petco in Dallas, Texas. She started out as a shy little scaredy cat, hiding for three days before finally coming out to meet me, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. She’s incredibly affectionate, loves cuddling on laps, and sleeps by my head every night, often curled up on my back or stomach. She enjoys relaxing on a secure balcony or patio and still has plenty of playful, kitten-like energy. Lola has lived with both cats and dogs and tolerated them, but she’d likely be happiest as the only pet. She kneads, occasionally scratches while doing so, and has recently begun rubbing against my legs and gently nipping at my ankles, which may be due to age-related arthritis. I’m hoping to find her a calm, loving home where she can enjoy her senior years surrounded by comfort and affection.

Story
FOSTERED IN: Long Grove, IL ESTIMATED DOB: June 2021 COLOR/BREED: DSH Black KIDS:Yes DOGS: Some CATS: Some HISTORY: Pixel was adopted out as a kitten and is now up for adoption due to conflict with a resident cat and dog ABOUT: Pixel is a striking 4½-year-old black tabby with a silky, thick coat and a personality that shines just as brightly. She’s a confident little tripod—missing one front leg due to a birth defect—but don’t let that fool you: Pixel doesn’t know she’s any different, and it doesn’t slow her down one bit. Playful and energetic, she loves toys with motion, catnip pillows, and a good game of chase around the house, especially in the mornings. She’s also quite vocal, happily announcing her playtime and excitement with cheerful commentary. This sweet girl adores people and warms up quickly to new friends. The moment you sit down, Pixel is likely to hop right into your lap, purring contentedly while you give her favorite face, cheek, and ear scratches. While she prefers not to be picked up and isn’t a fan of having her paws touched, she more than makes up for it with her affection and lap-loving nature. Pixel is easygoing about food (though she eats with enthusiasm!) and has excellent litter box manners. Pixel would thrive in a quiet home where sudden loud noises and fast movements are kept to a minimum. She would do best as the only cat, but could live with a confident, non-territorial feline companion. She has done well with calm, low-energy dogs but is fearful of high-energy ones. If you’re looking for a loving, vocal, and playful companion who will happily keep your lap warm and your home full of personality, Pixel might be the perfect fit for you. 🐾💖 Interested in adding one of our adoptables to your family? FOSTERED IN: Adoption Center - Frankfort, IL 60423ESTIMATED DOB: August 2023COLOR/BREED: Black ShorthairKIDS: LikelyDOGS: UnknownCATS: MaybeHISTORY:Chalupa and her family (momma Taco Bell and sisters Burrito and Gordita) were surrendered to a shelter and then transferred to our care.ABOUT: Chalupa is a sleek black beauty who is always on the move, ready to explore every inch of her surroundings with boundless curiosity. If there’s a new drawer left open, a cabinet to peek inside, or a toy to chase, Chalupa will be the first on the scene. Her playful energy and fearless spirit make every day an adventure, and she’s always eager to turn the ordinary into something exciting. She is part of a bonded pair with her sister, Gordita. We have a program for bonded pairs where adopters only pay one adoption fee!Like most siblings, they are not attached at the hip every second of the day. One may be lounging in a cat tree while the other supervises bird activity from the window. But the moment something exciting, suspicious, or snack related happens, they immediately appear side by side like a tiny panther security team reporting for duty. Both girls absolutely adore people and are incredibly loving once they settle in. They enjoy attention, belly rubs, and being told how stunning they are, which honestly should happen often because they are gorgeous. They are affectionate without being demanding and have a wonderful independent streak. If you are at work or out running errands, they are perfectly content hanging out together and keeping each other company. When it comes to other cats, these sisters are a little selective. They have not been especially receptive to other female cats and seem happiest being the stars of the show. Interestingly, they do tolerate a young, confident male cat who visits their room from time to time, so there may be some flexibility with the right personality match. Still, they would likely thrive in a calmer home where they can remain the main feline focus. They are excellent eaters, use the litter box perfectly, and clearly believe interior decorating is an important nighttime hobby. The morning volunteer is often greeted by mysteriously relocated beds, scattered toys, and a room that has been “updated” overnight according to the sisters’ unique vision.
