Story
Diesel came up to one of our foster families crying at a gas station. His tail was severely damaged and infected. He picked the right people to help him. He has required a couple vet visits, the tail although we tried to save it had to be amputated but now he has almost completed his recovery. HE will be available for adoption after Nov 15th! He is extremely thankful, sweet and playful. He has shown no signs of health issues and has kept his love for people in spite of whatever happened to him before he cried out for help. We marked special needs due to he MAY experience some balance issues due to a very short tail. He must be an indoor cat Only! We will be updating his pictures showing more fur after his stitches are removed. He is in a home with a cat friendly dog and cats. He loves them all. We will send out applications before Nov 15th if you are interested. His adoption fee is $50. Please email us at info@clarkcountycares.com

Story
Poppy is a four year old girl with lots of love to give. She doesn’t love small hands so a home without children would be best. She loves to snuggle on a cozy blanket or bed and prefers to come to you for pets. She is not a big fan of leaving the home so indoor lifestyle is best.

Story
Cutie Pie Moore came to the Humane Society with a horribly injured leg. It is believed that the leg was caught in a coyote trap but Cutie managed to pull loose. But in doing so the skin and fur was peeled back and all the tendons were torn and non repairable. The correct choice to allow her to heal was to amputate the leg. Surgery was successful and Cutie Pie is recovering well. She is such a sweet cat, fully of love and purrs despite the horror and pain she endured. We need a foster home and eventurally an adopter for this special survivor feline who truly adorable. Please fill out applications found at www.bhumane.org

Story
Meet Miss Bunny UPDATE: November She really does miss the other two. She is showing no signs of pain or difficulty, jumping or running. She likes to lay with me, especially in the evenings. Totally a snuggles cat. This fluffball, was found huddled soaking wet and cold in the rain at the very edge of a busy highway in Pulaski County. We surmise she hopped a ride under a car and fell out. But who knows? She can't tell us. What she does tell us is she is a loving girl who has some SPECIAL NEEDS. SPCHS is very picky about all adopters to ensure the best home for each animal in our care. But Bunny has a genetic issue with her spine, it seems there is extra space or a missing vertebra. This causes her gait to be more like a hop, but it doesn't slow her down. But she will have to be watched for deterioration and perhaps limited on big jumps. She quite possibly will need pain medication thru out her life. Nothing slows her down currently playing full out with her foster siblings Sammie and Shade. Bunny is about 16 weeks and has had vaccines and flea/tick medication and wormed. Her adoption fee includes, combo testing, spaying and micro chip for ID. If you are interested in helping Bunny with her forever home fill out the SPCHS application.

Story
Izzie is a petite senior girl who spent her early years surviving as a community cat. When it became clear she wasn’t thriving outdoors, a kind-hearted volunteer helped her find her way to safety and eventually into our care. At just under 4 pounds when she arrived, this little lady was in rough shape—but with love, good food, and a soft place to land, she’s blossoming. Now over 5 pounds and gaining strength, Izzie is showing us her true self: sweet, snuggly, and completely lovable. She adores being held like a baby and will purr away in your arms without a care in the world. Izzie gets along beautifully with other cats and has a calm, mellow demeanor—though every now and then, her playful side comes out in the cutest ways (ask her about her paper towel roll obsession!). Izzie does have a minor medical quirk—due to age or past health issues, she sometimes has a little trouble with her bowels. She knows to use the litter box, but on rare occasions, poop slips out without her realizing. It’s not constant, and she’s still a very clean girl, but she’ll need a patient and understanding adopter who can love her just as she is. This darling girl has overcome so much and still has so much love to give. If you have room in your heart and home for a senior sweetheart who just wants to be close and cherished, Izzie would love to be your girl. Izzie's estimated birthday is 9/22/2015. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped with lifetime registration. She also had bloodwork and a UA done that both came back normal! Make Izzie a part of your family today!
