Story
Meet Links! Links is an adorable gray tabby boy born in July who currently weighs about 5 lbs. He and his sister, Butters, were found on a rainy night abandoned on a dirt road in rural Alabama, but this little survivor hasn’t let his rough start dim his bright spirit. True to his name, Links is fast as lightning! He loves racing around, climbing the cat tree, and turning playtime into his own little adventure. When the zoomies are over, he’s just as happy being held and will reward you with a loud, happy purr. Links is a fun-loving, sweet kitten who enjoys both playtime and affection. He’s also litter box trained and ready to settle into a loving forever home. If you’re looking for a playful little buddy who will keep you entertained and then curl up purring in your arms, Links might be your perfect match. 🐾🐱 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Our rescue are fostered in Alabama foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
I adopted Miso in 2019 after returning home from a military deployment overseas. She has been a loving companion and a very special part of my life since then. Miso is 6 years old (May 10 birthday!) I am looking for a calm, loving home where Miso can receive plenty of cuddles and affection. While we truly wish we could keep her, we have a 1-year-old son who adores her and constantly wants to be close to her. Unfortunately, Miso becomes very stressed around young children and has scratched him on a few occasions when he gets too close. Because this happens so frequently, we feel it is safest and fairest for Miso to find a home without small children, where she can feel relaxed and secure. She truly is an affectionate, cuddly, sweet, independent, playful, loyal, and gentle girl (with adults). She does very well with other animals and enjoys people, but she is not comfortable around young children. I know there is a home out there that will make her and their home happy.

Story
Peanut Brittle was adopted from a shelter when she was an older kitten. She is the most easy going, affectionate cat I have ever met. She loves to be pet and cuddle, she likes to sleep on the bed next to us. She is mostly mellow, but does like to play with string or other toys. She is clingy, she wants to be where you are. She is okay being left alone for awhile. She's a very sweet cat. She has heart palpitations, which the vet says is mostly benign. One of her eyes has a spot that is growing very slowly, the vet also says it's not really something to worry about. Our lives have gotten very buster with 2 children and full time jobs, and Peanut has been throwing up more recently. We took her to the vet and they didn't find anything wrong. I read that stressed cats can stress vomit, and I worry that she is feeling neglected. I have grown to dislike her because she wants so much attention and I don't have the energy to give it. I worry she knows I don't like her and it's stressing her.

Story
Ellie is a 7 year old sweet cat. We rescued Ellie when she was a kitten. She is declawed and spayed. Unfortunately, we have a larger male cat that is dominating Ellie. It’d be best to find her a new home where she can be a solo kitty. She loves to be pet, snuggles in bed, and is a couch potato.

Story
Birthday: July 15, 2025   Anise has a silly personality with a bigger heart. She was part of a TNR project, where she was found in a shed that was designated as the colony "feeder." It was weeks after the people involved with the project fixed the momma cat when Anise appeared from her hiding place, following her mother around.  Anise, along with a few other kitties, were brought to LCCR to find a family who would adore her! It wouldn't be a hard task once you meet her!   Though Anise is a bit timid, she's slowly overcoming her shyness with each passing day. She loves to play with her toys and, maybe more so, her brothers! With how they are helping her come out of her shell, we think if would be best if Anise were to be adopted with one of her siblings or have a kitty friend waiting for her at home! Many of Anise's older cousins are still at her current foster home, and she adores them to death!    While she might be a kitty's cat kind-of gal, she has also warmed up fondly with her humans! Whenever she receives pets, she'll purr away content as can be.  She's grateful of the canned food that's given to her at mealtimes, and she's a bit energetic when it comes to her litterbox! She may have some silly habits, but with her pretty tuxedo markings and long white whiskers, it's hard not to fall in love with this girl!   Anise's adoption donation is $135 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay.  If you would like more information, please contact Kim at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. Story
Birthday: November 28, 2022 Cats may not need certification to be official lap cats, but Hadrian has it covered! This 16-pounds of pure lovin' is as sweet as sweet can get! He was taken care by loving people who found him in their yard. They thought it would be best to let him stay in their garage until a rescue could take him. They would have kept him if it weren't for the fact that they already had too many furbabies! When he was brought for a checkup, it was discovered that he was FIV+.  That may sound a bit scary, but we can assure you that it's not as bad as some may think it to be. Yes, the virus causes the cat's immune system to not function at full capacity. They are more prone to illnesses, so regular checkups make sure that they are in tip top shape.  The virus only affects felines through deep, penetrating puncture wounds.  Sharing the same water bowl and grooming are not efficient ways for the virus to spread to other felines. The best option for a FIV+ kitty is to remain in indoor cat. Despite this fact, Hadrian goes about each day like any other kitty! Hadrian comes over when you call for him, jumps on laps, revs his purr engine, and gladly accepts any form of attention, including but not limited to pettings! He has a bit of a ticklish side if you rub his belly too much. So, it's probably best if he went to a home where there are no young children who might get play-kicked by this strongman. Anytime you want a Velcro kitty who will actually sit on your lap, give Hadrian a call! His adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and neuter. Story
Birthday: October 19, 2025 Waynesboro had given the world a real treasure in the form of Nocturne! This black kitty is a reserved little girl, still unsure about her new lifestyle.  Though she is a shy thing, would you believe us if we said that she is a papoose baby? No really! This girl likes to be carried around in a papoose! The reason she loves it is because she can get pets and some treats! Though this is a silly way for her to enjoy company, she takes pleasure in a bunch of other hobbies! For example, she loves to play, and if there are toys involved, you can bet that they'll be flying! When the sun is pouring in through a window, she'll take time out of her schedule to fit in a sunbathing appointment at the windowsill! She can be a little slow to warming up to people, but the secret is her stomach! This girl has a healthy appetite, and if treats are involved, it might be the way to her heart! Her adoption donation is $135 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay.
