Kiki is an inside cat and because she is a senior, there are times that she will be grumpy and hiss, but she’s never been violent. She currently lays around on a bed all day or sits in a window. She does love pets and cuddles! She is very low energy but will do zoomies every now and then! She does thrive in a calm household and being comfortable in “her” room! She co-exists with another cat that she really does not interact with.

She is independent during the day and loves snuggling at bedtime. Kibby is a white-and-tabby girl of the same age with a calm, affectionate personality. Both are spayed, healthy, and have no known illnesses. They are accustomed to dogs and children, including babies, and have lived indoors with occasional outdoor time. Outdoor access is not required. They are not bonded and can be adopted separately or together. They need homes by October 31 in the Williamsburg, VA area. From November/Bernie`s longtime foster-Dear Prospective Adopters:I have fostered November the cat since the month of November in 2025. I nicknamed him Bernie, and he seems to know his name. He loves toys and is fascinated by running water. He is initially fearful of new situations. When I first brought him home from HHS, he was afraid of the TV and open (screened) windows. But now he “watches” TV with me, and he likes to look out of windows.Bernie arrived in September 2025 at HHS from an unpleasant hoarding situation. His overall health is now quite good. His appetite and activity level are excellent. But he has suffered some discoloration in his right eye due to a Herpes infection. Unfortunately, this infection will never completely go away. The other residual effects of the infection cause him to have occasional sneezing episodes about once a day. He has already had all the appropriate treatments for his condition. So he doesn’t need medication, just an owner who accepts and understands the sneezing spasms. Both the eye discoloration and the sneezes seem to have stabilized, and have not gotten any worse in these many months.The veterinarians who gave him wonderful care tell me that Bernie could be contagious to other cats if he experiences a lot of stress and has a flare-up. So, he would do best as an only cat. Right now I keep Bernie separated from my own cat, because she and Bernie don’t need to adjust to each other if Bernie will someday go to a new home. I value and respect my vets’ opinions. But if I kept Bernie myself, I would gradually introduce my cat and Bernie to each other, for a life together in the entire house. The only reason I am not adopting Bernie is the fact that I am in my 70’s. It’s not a good idea for someone my age to adopt a such a young cat. He was born in February of 2025. He will be very energetic for years to come, and needs someone who can keep up with him. Bernie can play a little rough, especially if he hasn’t seen me for a few hours. He sometimes play-bites swats much like kittens do. When he’s calm, he lays beside me when I watch TV propped up on the bed. I talk to him a lot, and he meows in response. He will sometimes bring one of his toys to me. He will usually have lap time with me at least once a day.Bernie’s situation sounds more complicated than it really is. He has a good heart. And he doesn’t require anything but a good home. I am therefore offering prospective adopters the opportunity to visit Bernie here in my home.
