Story
A SUPER SWEET & CUDDLY GIRL:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 21 lbs.     Hello – I’m Eden!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control after having some very hard luck.  I had been bitten by a snake and was recovering from that. I had skin issues, fur loss, and ear infections all due to neglect. I also had to have the tip of 1 toe amputated due to torn ligaments at the joint, dry eyes, and 2 fatty lipomas removed when I was spayed.  All that took time, but I have been a total trooper while Mosly Mutts and my wonderful foster tended to these needs and now I’m ready to find my new family and continue living the good life that Mostly Mutts has started for me - so exciting!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There are dogs in my foster home, and we don’t really interact much.  I’ve been just fine with them but am not looking for a playmate.  I also met dogs at Mostly Mutts and had the same reaction. So, if you have a dog that sounds like a match for me, let’s meet. / I ignored the cat in the home I visited when first rescued, so if you have a dog-friendly (or dog-tolerant) kitty, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / I’ve been around a gentle 3- and 14-year-old in my foster home and I do well with them.  I also met nice kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and did well with them, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as super sweet, fun, friendly, cuddly, and loving!  I really want/need to be with a family member, so I need a work-from-home or stay-at-home family member to be happy!  I’ll be the best company you could ever ask for!  Though I am a beagle mix, I’m pretty quiet, but when I do talk to you (not bark or howl), I make funny little sounds like groans and cries, etc. while looking right at you – it’s like we’re really having a conversation. / My energy level is currently 3-5 but I think it will increase a little now that I’m starting to feel better. I’m having little bursts of energy which are adorable.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m working on ‘wait’ using my name for feeding times and ‘stay’ at doors as I want to go out the door with you. I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / I absolutely HATE being in any type of crate to the point that I’ve hurt myself when in them, so no crates for me! / My potty habits are great in my foster home!  They have a doggie door to a fenced yard, and I go out when I need to.  If the doggie door is locked, I’ll stand by the door for a moment but if no one lets me out I will go in the house.  If you don’t have a doggie door, my foster thinks I’ll do well on a good schedule.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE people and want to be with them all the time!   A true lap dog, I am super happy to be held and to cuddle up with you for a nice nap. I’m pretty much up for whatever you would like to do around the house so I can keep you company and spend time with you.  I’m starting to play with toys now too. / I don’t like being without people, and of course I hate the crate! I’m not a fan of human food which is actually good – but I do like a little American cheese.  Otherwise, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, good care, and training.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I’ve come a long way on my road to recovery and my fur is growing in nicely now.  Mostly Mutts will be happy to go over the above-mentioned medical challenges that I came in with.  I am looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
LOOKING FOR A QUIET TYPE HOME:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 15 lbs. Hi, I’m Janet!  I came from a situation where there were just too many dogs in the home, and we needed help.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts was able to answer the call and now I’m in a great foster home getting lots of attention and learning all about being a great dog in a great home environment!  I’m ready to find my new home now and start living the good life with a family of my own. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with other dogs and liked the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts too. I also like the dog in my foster home who is close to my size. When I’m out for a walk with my foster and I see other dogs, I’ll bark and bark at them and it’s not entirely clear if I want to play with them or not, so let’s meet with a proper introduction!  Mostly Mutts and my foster feel that it’s best I have another playful and friendly dog in my new home to pal around with as I love doing that! / I am kind of in love with the kitty in my foster home and I try very hard to get her to play with me, so if you have a kitty that likes playing with dogs, let’s meet! / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts or in my foster home, but I am still a bit skittish, so if you have older calmer and gentle kids, let’s meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: In my foster home, I’m very happy and I enjoy scratches and belly rubs as well as napping.  I’m still a little bit skittish but very sweet. I’m looking for a patient family that understands my background and that I likely didn’t get training or individual attention, so I have a lot to learn. I’m a bit hesitant with people and I should not be left unsupervised at home because I have some interest in things that aren’t mine.  I like to move things around which is quite adorable, but I do need to learn what’s mine and what is not mine.  An apartment/condo type home would not be a good fit for me due to the close quarters and all the people I’d have to come in contact with. / My energy level is 4-6 generally, but I do like going for walks so it can be 5 – 7 at times.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t know any commands yet, and I’m not food/treat motivated, but I’m sure in time you can teach me some.  In the meantime, my foster is working on helping me come to her on my own and my leash training.  I love walks (I’ve walked up to 2 miles at a time) but at times I’ll get a little stuck or want to pull and squirm, so a properly fitted leash and harness is a must! My foster is great at knowing just what to do when this happens, and she’ll be happy to go over it with you. / I’ve improved so much with my crate training – though I use a playpen type enclosure instead of a crate in my foster home.  When my foster needs to leave the home, I’ll almost always go into my playpen by myself.  I’m no longer crated at nighttime, but I get to be in the bedroom with my foster and the other dog and cat and I like that. / I’m doing really well with my potty manners on a good schedule, so keep me on a good schedule and I think I’ll do well in my new home too.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like walks on quieter streets, roaming in the yard with the other dog, scratches and belly rubs and I can entertain myself with toys by relocating them and tossing them in the air – so fun. / I don’t like loud noises, machines, etc. but I’m improving daily and am less jumpy at sudden movements. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re a patient family that will give me the extra time that I need to feel safe and at home, we could be a good match! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
LOOKING FOR A NICE CALM FAMILY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 23 lbs.    Hi, I’m Tabitha!  I came from a situation where there were just too many dogs in a home, and we needed some help.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts was able to answer the call for assistance and I was able to spend a month in a great foster home learning and getting used to a stable environment!  Now I’m at the MM facility learning even more and I’m ready to find my very own family to love and be loved by!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with other dogs that I liked, however as I’ve gained a little confidence, we learned that I should not live with other dogs as I want the toys and dog beds just for myself.  I will guard my items and have growled and snapped when I think another dog is too close, so I should be your only dog, please.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids close up yet, but on a couple of instances I have become very stressed when I see them playing from a distance, so a home without kids or perhaps mature kids 15 and older would be best and let’s meet. This includes kids that may come into my home to visit, such as grandkids, etc. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m back at the MM facility now, but here’s what my 1-month foster reported about me:  My fosters knew just what to do when I went home with them to make me feel comfortable. Initially they were quiet and just let me think and make sense of my new space and they only engaged with me when I initiated, which made me feel very safe. The first 3 days, I just wanted to stay in a nice dog bed in the living room (of course they took me out to potty and spent time in the room too), but by the end of day 3 I started venturing around the home. It is a smaller type of home which I personally like.  By the evening of day 4, I wanted to sleep in the same room as my fosters and on day 6, I was comfortable venturing into the other various rooms within the 1 story home without having them in sight. I’ve been here a few weeks now and I like being petted, tummy rubs, little kisses on the head, nestling up to them and laying on them!  I respond very well to positive reinforcement and the best thing is that I wag my tail now when I see my foster! They gave me time and patience to figure things out and I’ve come a long way and am transforming into a more confident pup. / My energy level is currently 4 – 6.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! When I was in a foster home, I walked well on a leash and looked back to my foster for reassurance.  When I encounter something new, my foster would let me stand and watch for a while so I can make sense of it and then we continue on our way.  I’ve embraced being a Beagle by enjoying all the sniffs on my walks.  I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / In the foster home I didn’t like being in a crate and could break out of it, which can be dangerous to me, so my foster gates me in my favorite room when they left, and I did very well with that. / My foster didn’t have a yard, so we went out on a leash to potty, and I did well with that!  I think I only had one initial accident but have done well on the schedule they have me on – so, yay me! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love soft dog beds with supportive edges that I can rest my head on. I have a newfound love of Benebones and soft squeaky toys, and once I’m comfortable with my people, I greatly enjoy being with them!  Food and treats are a good way to help me trust you as I sure like them. And I like it when you talk to me with a "dog voice" -lol / I don’t want to be rushed into new relationships or situations, so give me some time and space to figure things out please.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.     • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re a Beagle loving family and have extra time to help me settle in, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

LOOKING FOR AN ANGEL:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. Hi, I’m Teresa!  I came from a situation where there were just too many dogs in the home, and we needed help.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts was able to answer the call and rescue us! I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program off site and now I’m ready to find a safe and quiet home with a patient and calm family to help me blossom. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with other dogs and I was happy when I saw other dogs in the prison/foster training program, I just wasn’t quite ready to play with them yet.  My trainer thinks that another dog may help me come out of my shell more and help me build confidence, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, or in my former home,  and new sounds and sudden movements scare me, so if you have older calm and gentle kids, let’s meet.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  It took me a week or two to start feeling safe and more comfortable in the prison/foster training program and they took things slow with me which I’ll want my new family to do too. Affection seemed new to me, so they practiced touch and petting, and I didn’t show any aggression.  I think this may take a little time in my new home but with kindness and understanding, I think it will pay off.  I’m looking for a patient family that understands my background and that I likely didn’t get training or individual attention, so I have a lot to learn.  An apartment/condo type home would not be a good fit for me due to the close quarters and all the people I’d have to come into contact with. / Right now, my energy level is very low at around 2 – 4, but in time once I feel at home, it may increase. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and my trainer is currently just working on helping me feel safe.  I do like walks in quiet places, but I am a flight risk due to my fear, so please make sure I have a properly fitted harness/leash as I don’t want to get lost or hurt. / My crate is my safe place - so much so that in the prison/foster training program, they sometimes blocked it off to help me come out of  my shell. Talk to my trainer about this please. / My potty manners were good in the prison/foster training program. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy sniffing around and using my nose to explore and I enjoy quiet walks. / Walking near traffic frightens me, so let’s find a quiet place to walk.  Loud noises and anything new frighten me as well, so the calmer the home the better.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’ve started a medication called Fluoxetine to help with anxiety and stress. You’ll notice in my pictures that a small portion of my right ear is missing, but it doesn’t bother me, and most people think it adds character to my overall appearance.    If you’re a patient family that will give me the extra time that I need to feel safe and at home, we could be a good match! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
Pheobe is a sweet, loving, shy 2-3 year old beagle mix. Pheobe can be a little slow to warm up, but once she warms up, she is a total cuddle bug and just wants to be with you 24/7. She loves being curled up beside you on the couch, behind your neck, or even putting her head behind your back as you sit on the couch. If there is even the smallest of openings, Pheobe is gonna find it and make sure she can get close to you! She loves her people and she loves her rubs! Pheobe is the last baby from our grieving breeder project. She came to back in January and need time to decompress, come out of her shell a little, and just learn the basics of being a dog. In that time, we have learned that Pheobe absolutely LOVES bones- of any sort, natural raw hides, pig ears, cow ears, bully sticks- she loves to chew on things, but never in a destructive way.  Pheobe came to us completely untrained- even the concept of being in a house was pretty foreign to her. She has mastered crate training, is doing amazing on her house training, and is still working on leash training. She will need a patient person to continue to work with her on house and leash training by providing structure and routine along with frequent potty breaks and proper crate training. Adoption fee $300: Pheobe is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations. To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic Once your application has been approved we will schedule a one on one meet and greet with the entire family, including your current dogs. ##1945104##

Story
Skips is a five year old beagle with the traditional loud beagle howl. He follows his nose everywhere and so he would be best placed in a house with a yard. He does tend to be fearful and timid, but can be won over with lots of treats. Once you've earned his trust you can look forward to the best of cuddles. We're really looking to place Skips and Marty (the husky in the picture) together in the same home, but if we have to split them up, Skips would be best placed in a home with another smaller dog. It may take time to adjust, so we're looking for something transitional where we don't just drop him off and say goodbye. We truly want him to grow and love his new family. So if it takes a few weeks that's ok! We're also ok with an open adoption! haha Would love to see pics of him from time to time living his best life in his new home. ✔ Housetrained ✔ Knows commands "sit" "come" & "kennel up"

All our dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. Senior dogs receive extra bloodwork and we try to do dental cleanings on any dogs that need them. Most of the dogs in our care are crate-trained and cat tested. We test with kids when we can. Our process can seem involved and long - we appreciate your patience. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. Bubba is  medium size senior beagle.  He is 14yrs old, but still has a lot of love to give.  Bubba came to us as a home surrender after his person passed away. He loves to hang out in the back yard and soak up the sun, but then come inside and cozy up with the humans.  Like what you see? Fill out our online application! We work on a first received, first approved, first adopted basis. We definitely encourage people who are interested in adopting, even if they haven't found the right dog yet, to fill out an application. Our process can take as long as two weeks (we work day jobs!) so having an already approved application speeds things up considerably when you see a dog that catches your eye. July 14, 2024, 6:23 pm

This mama was recently spayed, and still has some messy teeth to be fixed. She’s a real sweetheart. Very low-key and easy-going. She might have some fox or coonhound in her because she likes to climb. No matter, Jolene will charm you with her soft fur and gentle demeanor. Look for Jolene to be ready for adoption in May!
