Story
Darla is a very friendly girl, good with kids and other dogs. She is a beautiful energetic girl that loves to play, play play. She is house trained, knows many commands, walks well on a leash, and has been to one-on-one training classes with an experienced trainer. Darla will be 7 months old on Jan 13, 2026. Because of recent family medical issues, it is very difficult for us to give Darla the attention she deserves. We are hoping she finds a home with a loving family and space for her to explore and grow. The ideal home for Darla would have an open space to play/run (good sized fenced backyard) and possibly other dog(s) for companionship. As mentioned before, she loves her people, the more the merrier.

Story
Side Pony’s story starts with heartbreak, but it’s quickly becoming one of hope. She was pulled just in time from an overcrowded North Carolina shelter, where she was facing euthanasia after being surrendered for not living up to someone else’s expectations. Labeled a “lousy hunting dog,” Side Pony simply wasn’t meant for the field. She was meant for a couch, a family, and a life filled with kindness. True to her gentle nature, Side Pony is meek, sweet, and incredibly affectionate with people. She gets along nicely with other dogs and even cats, making her an easy fit for a multi-pet home. She is especially fond of her foster cat sibling these days, waiting by the stairs every morning for him to come down and snuggle with her. Like most hounds, she loves long, leisurely walks where she can sniff every interesting scent along the way. And in true Side Pony fashion, she’s so easygoing that she’ll happily let you dress her up for any occasion. Side Pony is fostered in Abington, MA, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her.
