Story
Molly is a 1-year-old, 30lb Treeing Walker Coonhound Molly was wandering starved when found and is now in foster fattening up and learning to walk on a leash and working on housetraining. She is typically energetic, great with cats, would do best as the only dog, gentle with kids but no young kids who can leave a gate open; she is a hound and will take off! Molly absolutely needs a secure fenced. Her foster writes, “Molly loves everyone. Very sweet and wants love and attention all the time. Molly does have some allergies so she'll need to be on a specific diet. Just wants to be with her human.” Ideal for a walker-lover who appreciates the true sweetness and loyalty of the breed, or playmate for your playful resident dog. Please be aware, Hounds tend to have energy and require daily exercise and mental stimulation. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.July 9, 2025, 4:48 pm

Story
Are you an active person? Like hiking and being outdoors? Then I'm the dog for you. I'm kylo and I was surrendered by my owner because I wouldn't hunt. What can I say? I'm a lover, not a fighter. I'm about 3 1/2 and housetrained and crate trained.  And, if it couldn't get any better I'm good with dogs and cats. It would be great if I had a dog friend too. I would be at my best with older children. Sometimes I forget how big I am. So hurry before you miss out on getting your new best friend. ##1626861##

Story
(DOB 10/31/2022) Willow is heartworm positive but don't let that stop you from adopting this sweet, beautiful girl. Our rescue will pay for her treatment and for that reason she will be local adoption (1 hour drive distance to Wake Forest, NC) while she undergoes treatment. Willow’s ideal forever family would have sweet kids who love to play and spend time with her, especially in a fenced-in yard. Willow is a true outdoor enthusiast, and if there are squirrels around, she’ll be in heaven, running after them; maybe one day we will see her tree climbing skills as she follows their trail! Willow also enjoys daily walks with her family and is pretty good on a leash and is learning to not pull when she sees those furry little critters. Speaking of fences, she’s got some serious “basketball jumping skills,” so she’ll need a solid, 6-foot tall fence to keep her safe while she runs around, romps, runs, and explores. Willow can be describe as a lovable and sweet hound with a gentle heart! While she’s a little shy at first, her kindness shines through once she gets to know you. Willow is the type of dog who tries her best to please everyone she meets and quickly becomes a loyal friend. She adores playing with her foster sister and would do best in a home with another friendly, happy 4-legged sibling who enjoys fun and companionship. Though Willow is still working on her potty training, she’s making fantastic progress. Sometimes, she gets so caught up in her excitement to play that she forgets it’s potty time too, but she’s learning fast. Willow is also crate trained and would love a family where someone is home often, but she’s happy to ride along as your travel buddy whenever you hit the road.  In the kitchen, Willow is eager to "help" – or rather, snag a tasty snack when you’re not looking! If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who loves to please, Willow might just be the perfect fit for your family. Willow is really as sweet as she is beautiful. She has a happy smile that is almost always gracing her goregeous face and joy that radiates love and kindness. She is such a doll and will make a family very happy! As part of Willow’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Willow, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2340230##

Story
Tucker is a beautiful, friendly boy. Unfortunately, both of his human parents (my in-laws) passed recently. He loves to bark (he's all bark and no bite), and he's such a silly boy and likes to pop his chops! He's friendly and playful and needs a lot of room to roam. We are working with him to walk on a leash, and as far as we know has never had shots. He needs his kennel, as that is his safe space, and loves to lay in it. He plays fetch when he wants to play fetch, it's not up to the humans. He is house-trained and about four years old. Whenever he sees me, he has to turn circles in his kennel, and will not go out until he gets some lovin's. He has been around other dogs and just wants to play. There was a cat in the house with him, but we've never seen him interact. We really want him to go to a good loving home. Unfortunately, we don't have the room for him. :(

These pups are in Raleigh, North Carolina too!

Story
Meet our charming Gracie girl, bursting with personality and ready to find her forever home! This sweet, silly pup has discovered her Beagle voice, so apartment living might not be the best fit—her joyful bays are perfect for a house with a fenced yard where she can unleash her zoomies! She’s a dream in the car, loves park strolls with her doggy pals, and is a pro on the leash, always sniffing with her nose to the ground. This cuddly gal adores chasing balls and wrestling with playful, dog-friendly companions. At night, she’s a champion snuggler, ready to cozy up with her favorite human. Shy with new people, she warms up with patience and treat motivation (she’s a sucker for snacks!). She may get along with a dog-savvy cat, but no kids under 12, please. Her ideal home? An active retiree or work-from-home pet parent who loves walks, playtime, and giving this sweet girl the love she deserves. A fenced yard is a must for her energetic bursts! Ready to welcome this lovable, quirky pup into your life? Apply today!***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. Tucker is with us for the past 12 years. we got him from Durham shelter when he was 1 year old. we love him a lot. He is very loving and healthy. We have Banfield health insurance for the past 12 years and took care of his health without any issues. Unfortunatlely, we are in a position to give him for adoption. I am looking for rehome for Tucker who can give him the same love and care.

Story
She’s been a great dog up to this point. She’s just very protective of me as her owner and has a short fuse with other dogs. With another dog and small children around creates a recipe for problems. She would be happy to waist the day away on the couch with you, and enjoys belly scratches.
