Story
Bella is such a good and sweet girl. I have had her for about five years- she was a foster fail for me and stole my heart from the start. She came from a really bad situation and has grown into the best girl. She loves her dog sister, playing, getting treats, snuggles, and cuddles! She has odd quirks and as she has gotten older, her separation and anxiety have gotten worse. I have tried medication, structural time schedules, and even a crate when I leave the house and she does not do well. At this time in her life, she would be happier, healthier, and well suited with an elder person or someone/family who always stays home or works from home full time or even retired. She needs someone to be with her almost most of the day and night. She needs someone who is patient, sympathetic, and empathetic and loves her so much. I want the best for her and her happiness.

Story
Shelby is a 3-year-old sweet, gentle beagle mix. She was found as a pregnant stray and is almost ready to hang up her mama's hat. She will be ready for her new home starting June 30th. Shelby is timid and sudden noises startle her. She will need some time to adjust to her new home and feel safe. She has been fine with cats and dogs but has shown no interest in playing. Due to her timid nature, young children may be too much for her. She is your typical beagle with following her nose and investigating everything. She is highly food motivated so that will be helpful with training. If you are looking for a very sweet, gentle, submissive dog who will look to you as her protector, Shelby may be the dog for you.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MEET RANDY! Randy is an 8 year old,  21 lb. beagle mix dog.  Randy is a loving and affectionate dog that will make a very loyal companion.   Randy is very friendly with everyone he meets.  He is a very relaxed guy who loves other dogs too.  He is currently living with cats and does fine. Randy is very chill but does like to play with other dogs occasionally.  He needs a buddy and won't do well as an only dog.  He would do great with a family that leaves the house to work or with a family that works from home.  His energy level is low.  He will occasionally play and do zoomies but mostly hangs out and sleeps.  Randy does not require a fenced yard.  Potty breaks on a leash and a nice walk everyday would suffice for his exercise.   He needs to be taken outside on a regular basis for his potty breaks.   Randy is crate trained but he does have some crate anxiety.  An airplane style crate is better than a wire crate for him.  At night he sleeps in his crate with no problem.  Randy is a sweet happy boy who loves to cuddle and hang out.  He loves to eat and loves to go out for a walk.  He is looking for a forever home where he can love his humans and in return be part of a loving home. Randy has a heart murmur which is being treated with a common doggie  prescription.  His foster Mom can explain more about this with any approved applicant.  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  We prefer that applicants live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We will consider applicants who live a bit further if they are a great fit for this sweet guy.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING  RANDY? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window:  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 11:12 am

Story
This sweet girl was fostered from what seemed to be a bad situation. While fostering her, she spent most of her time in an open-door crate, finding comfort there. Within the week, this sweet girl was venturing into the room and eventually started wagging her tail more often. She will require lots and lots of love in the beginning. She is easily startled and will rush to her crate for comfort. She LOVES the fenced backyard and taking leashed walks by ponds. She walks well on a leash but will stop in her tracks if she does not want to go in a specific direction. Her tail is often tucked when she walks, but she calms down after going to familiar spots. She seems to be house-trained, had no accidents, and can go many hours without using the bathroom. She does not bark in her crate or in general. She has interacted with our two dogs, which has gone well, and she seems to be more scared of children in the beginning. She is a low-maintenance sweet pup who just needs lots and lots of love.

Story
Porthos is a 6-7 year old Beagle who is sweet but very scared - he has obviously been mistreated by humans, so we are going slowly with him to gain his trust. He will need compassionate and loving humans to help him get over his fear. HOWEVER - he loves, loves dogs. They are validating for him and he will need a home with dogs to loosen him up. He doesn't seem interested in cats, but does love dog friends! Porthos is hw-, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. **Extra bonus points if you get his name reference!** To adopt Porthos, please go to apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
We are looking for help in finding a new home for a sweet ~8-10 year old Beagle/Bassett mix, Chelsea. She is my mother in laws dog, and sadly she is in the hospital and will not be returning home. She rescued Chelsea in March of 2021. Chelsea is a chill dog who loves humans and is looking for her next family that wants to snuggle up on the couch! She is house trained and has also been trained to stay in the yard without leash. Chelsea needs to go to a home where she would be the only dog as she currently is afraid of other dogs (even small ones). She would get along best in a quiet home as she sometimes gets startled by loud or unexpected noises. Please let me know what questions we can answer about this sweet girl!
