Story
Copper is a very loving Treeing Walking Coonhound that was found abandoned and starving in a very remote area. He was taken to a vet to find that he had been shot multiple times with a pellet gun. Copper has been treated, neutered and vaccinated. He is great with most dogs and loves people. He will chase cats. Copper is house trained and friendly in nature. Copper successfully completed the treatment for heartworms and got a clean bill of health from the vet. He is released for activity restrictions and absolutely loves being able to play and run again! Copper has a lot of energy and he needs a fenced backyard to run around and sniff around - he has quite the sniffer on him! Copper may be best suited for a family with children over 10 years old because he could knock over smaller children in his excitement. Copper is neutered and up to date on vaccines. You can apply to meet him at ricopetrecovery.org. Copper's adoption fee is sponsored by a generous Rico supporter.

Story
If you love hounds, then Flint is your guy. Flint is a happy guy full of energy. He runs like a Greyhound at the race track and like most hounds follows what ever scent he picks up. This is why we must require a yard with a tall fence. Flint isn't completely housetrained, but is almost there. Flint loves people and communicates well with that expressive howl of his. He came to use with a grade 5 heart murmur. but that was easily corrected to a grade 2 after a few months on Beta Blockers. It may completely correct itself one day or he may have to be on the meds for the rest of his life. Just 2 pills a day and it's not a big deal considering what a great boy he is! You would never know there was ever an issue. Flint is healthy, strong and full of life and love. Flint is fully vetted and is ready to find his loving forever home. If you would like to meet him please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Dash! I’m a petite little guy that looks like a beagle mix, maybe? Take a guess! Although I’m just over a year old, I’m a very chill dude. I came to a shelter in southern Ohio in September when my family’s house burned down and they had to move. I had spent so many months there before coming to a foster home! Each day I learn more and more about how wonderful the world is and that it’s not so scary! I’m a little shy at first but just sit with me for a few minutes and I’ll be snuggled up to your side in no time! I’m good with kids, other dogs, and cats! I’m learning about toys and absolutely love laying on the couch and watching tv with you! I do pretty well on a leash and know to go potty outside! I’m really cute and curl my paws under me like a cat when I rest! Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start May 25, 2026, 9:40 pm

Story
Looking for a quiet, loyal friend to share your days with? Meet Stanley, an 8-year-old gentleman who’s ready to be someone’s faithful sidekick for the best years ahead. Stanley is the perfect companion for a calm, easygoing lifestyle. He adores routine, enjoys the simple things in life, and has a special soft spot for older adults — especially retired folks who appreciate good company and a steady pace. He’s happiest spending time right by your side: soaking up the sunshine on the porch, snoozing through a cozy afternoon, or curling up with you and a crocheted blanket during a quiet evening at home. Stanley takes his routines seriously and will politely remind you when it’s past bedtime — because even a distinguished gentleman knows the value of a good night’s rest. Stanley is great with other dogs and children, though he prefers a cat-free household. He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves to be included in whatever you’re doing — whether it’s gardening, watching TV, or enjoying your morning coffee.  If it were up to him, he would never leave your side!  So a family that is home a lot or can take Stanley with them to most outings would be the best fit for him.  Recently diagnosed with a mild heart murmur, Stanley is still in good spirits and has many happy, loving years ahead. His needs are simple: a calm home, a soft blanket, and someone who enjoys life’s slower moments as much as he does. If you’re looking for a steady, loving companion to share your golden years, Stanley would love to meet you. He’ll remind you when it’s bedtime, keep you company through every season, and fill your home with warmth and quiet joy. Stanley is being surrendered his current owner and a community member.  He is not being fostered by a volunteer with the Powell Animal Welfare Society.  PAWS is not responsible for the accuracy or validity of this post.May 25, 2026, 9:40 pm

Story
Ursula is a 3-year-old Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) who weighs 25lbs. She is energetic and playful so she will thrive in an active home where she can burn off her energy before settling in for the night. She likes to jump so a standard size fence is a must.   Ursula is smart. She has already mastered sit, paw, down, and she’ll even wait for her dinner. Because she’s a clever girl with a typical Beagle stubborn streak, she would love a family that continues her training. It’s a great way to bond with her!   Ursula is a lap dog and she likes to cuddle in her humans bed. She is not a fan of the crate. She needs a home where someone is around most of the time.   She can be a little shy at first with new people but treats will win her over.   If you have a secure yard, a cozy bed to share, and plenty of time for love and training, Ursula is ready to start her next adventure with you! Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start May 25, 2026, 9:40 pm
