Story
Hi everyone! My name is Dash! I’m a petite little guy that looks like a beagle mix, maybe? Take a guess! Although I’m just over a year old, I’m a very chill dude. I came to a shelter in southern Ohio in September when my family’s house burned down and they had to move. I had spent so many months there before coming to a foster home! Each day I learn more and more about how wonderful the world is and that it’s not so scary! I’m a little shy at first but just sit with me for a few minutes and I’ll be snuggled up to your side in no time! I’m good with kids, other dogs, and cats! I’m learning about toys and absolutely love laying on the couch and watching tv with you! I do pretty well on a leash and know to go potty outside! I’m really cute and curl my paws under me like a cat when I rest! Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start May 21, 2026, 5:58 pm

Story
Looking for a quiet, loyal friend to share your days with? Meet Stanley, an 8-year-old gentleman who’s ready to be someone’s faithful sidekick for the best years ahead. Stanley is the perfect companion for a calm, easygoing lifestyle. He adores routine, enjoys the simple things in life, and has a special soft spot for older adults — especially retired folks who appreciate good company and a steady pace. He’s happiest spending time right by your side: soaking up the sunshine on the porch, snoozing through a cozy afternoon, or curling up with you and a crocheted blanket during a quiet evening at home. Stanley takes his routines seriously and will politely remind you when it’s past bedtime — because even a distinguished gentleman knows the value of a good night’s rest. Stanley is great with other dogs and children, though he prefers a cat-free household. He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves to be included in whatever you’re doing — whether it’s gardening, watching TV, or enjoying your morning coffee.  If it were up to him, he would never leave your side!  So a family that is home a lot or can take Stanley with them to most outings would be the best fit for him.  Recently diagnosed with a mild heart murmur, Stanley is still in good spirits and has many happy, loving years ahead. His needs are simple: a calm home, a soft blanket, and someone who enjoys life’s slower moments as much as he does. If you’re looking for a steady, loving companion to share your golden years, Stanley would love to meet you. He’ll remind you when it’s bedtime, keep you company through every season, and fill your home with warmth and quiet joy. Stanley is being surrendered his current owner and a community member.  He is not being fostered by a volunteer with the Powell Animal Welfare Society.  PAWS is not responsible for the accuracy or validity of this post.May 21, 2026, 5:58 pm

Story
Ursula is a 3-year-old Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) who weighs 25lbs. She is energetic and playful so she will thrive in an active home where she can burn off her energy before settling in for the night. She likes to jump so a standard size fence is a must.   Ursula is smart. She has already mastered sit, paw, down, and she’ll even wait for her dinner. Because she’s a clever girl with a typical Beagle stubborn streak, she would love a family that continues her training. It’s a great way to bond with her!   Ursula is a lap dog and she likes to cuddle in her humans bed. She is not a fan of the crate. She needs a home where someone is around most of the time.   She can be a little shy at first with new people but treats will win her over.   If you have a secure yard, a cozy bed to share, and plenty of time for love and training, Ursula is ready to start her next adventure with you! Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start May 21, 2026, 5:58 pm

Story
Meet Maeve This face. THIS FACE. If you want to know who Maeve is, just look at that photo of her tearing through the grass tongue out, ears flying, tail up like a question mark shes not waiting for anyone to answer. Thats the whole personality in one frame.Maeve is spunky, fearless, and gloriously independent. Shes the puppy who runs toward the adventure, not away from it. Outside is her favorite place in the world grass, sunshine, room to zoom and she throws herself into it with her whole tiny body. But dont let the wild-child energy fool you. Shes also sweet as can be, snuggly when shes ready to slow down, and playful in the best way. Shes got the full package: brave enough to lead, soft enough to curl up in your lap when the zoomies wear off.Fun fact Maeve looks nothing like her brothers. While Guinness and Liam are rocking that puggle look, Maeve came out looking like a tiny cockapoo. Soft black fluff, expressive eyes, a sprinkle of white on her chest, and feathering thats only going to get more dramatic as she grows.Shes looking for a family wholl match her energy and adore her independence someone wholl let her be the bold, hilarious, big-personality girl she already knows she is.Maeve's mom is 30 lbs and Maeve is expected to be about the same size. The adoption fee for Maeve is $350. The adoption fee includes the first two sets of shots and the spay surgery and a microchip at our partner veterinarian when she's old enough. The third and fourth shots and all subsequent vet care at the responsibility of the adopter. Apply to meet Miss Maeve at www.ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
Tragedy has struck one of our adopter families, leaving this deeply bonded mother-daughter pair urgently in need of a new home.In January 2022, sweet Daisy came to us and delivered a litter of puppies in our care. She and one of her babies, Izzy, were adopted togetherand theyve been inseparable ever since. Izzy has always been a mamas girl. This week, their world was turned upside down. The woman who gave them a loving home was tragically killed in a car accident. Her family cant keep the dogs and has asked us to take them back. Now Daisy and Izzy need someone to give them a second chancetogether, if at all possible. Izzy is the perfect girl: Great with kids Good with cats and dogs Loving and easygoing Daisy (the mama) is more sensitive:Shes fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up.She is not aggressive, but has occasionally nipped when scared. She needs a calm, patient home that will let her adjust at her own pace.We know its a hard time for dogs needing homes. But we also know theres someone out there who can offer these girls the stability and love theyve lost. Please consider opening your heart and your home to Izzy and Daisywhether through adoption or foster care. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
My father passed away a few months ago and I’m looking to find an amazing home for his dog. His name is Raleigh, he will be 5 in June! He is a beagle/hound mixed cutie and about 60lbs. (Yes I LOVE this dog and would take him if I physically could ❤️). He has medical needs (epilepsy) that is well controlled with meds (no seizures since July)… but does require someone that’s available to administer meds at certain times throughout the day. He’s amazing with other dogs, loves to cuddle, and clings to his people. TBD on cats, I don’t know if he’s been test but he’s submissive enough my guess would be he would do great.
