Story
My name is Winnie and I am anything but an 'old lady'.   I may be 7 years old and carrying a few extra pounds....63 to be exact, but I am a sharp cookie who is ready to help you drive around in your car and I will even stay quiet and not be a backseat driver.  I love car rides and I am ready to go at the drop of a hat.  I won't bore you with the rough circumstances I have come from.  What I really want to talk about with you is how sweet and loving and devoted I will be if you make me your girl.  You see, I am a breed that not a lot of people know to consider or go looking for.  I am a beautiful, mature, quiet Treeing Walker Coonhound.  When you look at the video attached to my post, you will see that I bark less than the girl dog who lives at the foster home permanently.  I say my say and I am brief.  I really know my house manners and I am just perfectly happy laying around in the kitchen if you are there, or the sofa if you are in the room, or even at the feet of my wonderful foster mom while she works in her home office.  I am the easiest companion dog you will ever find.  I am around two adorable children who are 10 years and younger.  I love them and they think I am pretty terrific too.  I have an idea.  If you are a retired couple and you want a walking buddy, then choose me!  If you want a dog that you can trust your grandchildren of any age, then choose me! If you want a calm, easy going dog that is not hyper or excessively fast energy, then choose me.  If you want a dog that you don't to groom like those designer purse dogs, then choose me because I can take a bath in the backyard when it is warm and I will love it.  And if you want a dog that will wag her tail with all the love and devotion that I have in my body, just to show you I am happy you are home, CHOOSE ME!  I want to live with people who like to sit in the Lazyboy and watch TV, people who walk around their yard and enjoy the beauty that God brings every Spring.  I want to belong to special people who love dogs and would never run them off with mean words.  I know there is someone out there who will love me just the way I am.  CHOOSE ME!  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 5, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! ADOPTION FEE $400

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? ADOPTION FEE: $400

Story
Our sweet Abby is just a joy to be around. She came from a high kill shelter in South Carolina. We actually saw her on Facebook when they were begging for someone to get her out of there. She was 24 hours away from being euthanized. There are so very many stray hound dogs and the shelters run out of room so they only stay for so long. It's very sad. Abby is the sweetest, most loving girl that you will ever meet. She just loves everybody! She is a full blooded Walker hound, approximately 2 years young. She came with heart worms but we treated her and now she is heart worm free. She is also crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready for her forever home! could that be you? Story
I'm just a hound dog looking for ❤️... Say HELLO to Sara who is looking for a family to call her own!! This love bug is around 2 yrs old, spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm meds, gets along great with other dogs, and we think she would be just fine with children as long as they are respectful with her!! She is Doggie Door trained and will go in a crate. Even at 2, she does have ALOT of puppy in her and will need to be reminded of her house manners. Other than that, Sara would make a AWESOME pet for the right family. Could that be you? Send us a message for an application...

Story
Meet Bronco! This sweet boy is ready for his forever home! Bronco is a sweet hound mix with an estimated birthhday of 1/09/2023. Bronco stands very tall, he is all legs! His gangly paws flop all over the place when he gets playful and happy. He may be in the large dog weight range, being roughly 65lbs, but he is slender and lean. He is very, very smart, he responds to his name, know "sit" "lay", and "paw". He is such a goofy boy, he can be a little shy of new people but give him a tasty snack and he opens up to be as silly as can be. He loves learning new things, and food is definitely the key to his heart. He is starting to take treats very gently, and although he gives it his best shot, if you toss a treat ot him it's more likely to land on his forehead than in his mouth.  Victor is excellent with other dogs, and kids, but has not recently been tested with cats. If you already have another dog, a meet and greet is required, but Bronco would be happy to have a four-legged brother or sister.  Victor is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $175.  Interested in this precious pup? Call 615-446-7387 to set up an appointment! ##1670072##

Story
Meet Frida - Dolly! Miss Frida is on the hunt for a forever family. Frida originally came to us in the late summer of 2022 as an adorable young pup, she was later adopted into a very loving home. Unfortunately, in the beginning of 2024, Frida's adopter had to return her to us by no fault of her own. They had nothing but wonderful things to say about her, and wanted the best possible home for her. We estimate Frida's birthday to be 07/05/2022, and she is the cutest little basset hound mix. She sports the short, stocky legs of the basset breed, but not much else! She has a lovely white and brindle coat, and the most loving personality you'll meet. She can be a little shy at first glance, but once she warms up, good luck finding a more friendly girl! Frida loves other dogs, but as always we require a meet and greet if you already have any at home. She also does well with cats, and kids too! Frida does have a some skin sensitivities. We are keeping her on a special diet to keep her skin healthy and clear, and she is looking wonderful. Her food is available at any pet supply store, so no need to worry about an expensive prescription.  Frida is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $175. Interested? Call us at 615-446-7387.  ##1533911##
