! Willie is a retired coon dog. He retired over two years ago when he ran off on the job and came to us instead. His owner was located but failed to return calls to claim him, so here he sits, waiting to meet you instead!!! He is pretty chill and quite the love. The lady dogs love Willie! He is kid friendly, but older and/or understanding kids would probably be best because this sweet old man prefers naps over fetch in the yard. He has not been tested with cats, but given his background of chasing small animals, we can say it would probably be best if he had a home with no cats. Willie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and current on prevention. **Seniors interested in adopting seniors** We know money can be tight so please contact us about special adoption rates. He will be just at a year June/July 2024. He is truly a genuinely kind, affectionate, and loving dog. Loves children and other dogs so, so much. He is medium sized at about 53lbs. I found him on the side of the road when it was about 106° out. The original owners didn't want him back. My roommate wanted him but did not have the setup for him--- so I have had him. I have two older 5 year old female dogs. They get along great, but they don't match his energy. He would thrive with a young and/or active family with another active dog. He has had history of chewing when he is bored. I feel confident this would be alleviated with a better energy match. He is crated trained, house trained, and up to date on shots. Handles car rides well.

Meet Rory! A big personality in a small package, she came to DFW Beagle Buddies from the Longview shelter. She had 5 puppies - adorable little scruffy babies - who went with another rescue. She is SO SWEET and is a little lover. She loves to cuddle, give kisses, be mischievous, and loves playing with other dogs. She is a lovely little girl who will need a home that is willing to help her become a well-trained house dog - she's getting the hang of it in her foster home, but isn't quite used to it just yet! She will do best with a canine playmate and a backyard. Rory has a ton of love to give and would be a great family dog. She gets along with other dogs of all sizes and never meets a stranger. Hi everybody! I’m Travis, and I might just be the sweetest beagle you ever meet. I came to Beagle Buddies from the Canton shelter with my pregnant companion, Taylor. I’ve had my vaccines, been neutered, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms - so I’m all ready to find my new home! When I first arrived, I was a little shy and confused - I didn’t even know what a dog treat was. I do now, though! I’ve also learned how to go into my crate when my foster people leave, and I’m really good at the doggy door - although I’m still not quite perfect about using it every time I need to potty. I’m getting there. The rescue thinks I’m pretty young - maybe around 2 years old, so I do have a lot of energy. A home with a canine sibling would be ideal for me so that I have someone to play with - I love playing with my dog sisters. I am also happy to sit by your feet for hours while you pet my head. And because I’m still young, I occasionally like to get into a little bit of mischief like stealing your slippers, but I’m so cute, no one can stay mad at me.
