Story
Friday (now known as “Maverick”) is a 2-year-old beagle/boxer mix. He was part of the Pups of the Week Litter featured in June of 2022. Maverick came back to Beagle Buddies when his family could no longer give him the care he needed. He is an exuberant and affectionate dog with a lot of energy. He is slender and streamlined and does not look much like a beagle. You see him and think, “That’s not a beagle at all!” …but just wait until he gets surprised, then you hear that bay! Maverick is very loving and loves to snuggle up next to you (or in your lap) on the couch. He has the best facial expressions. Maverick is currently working on manners as he doesn’t really understand personal space. His foster parents are working hard to teach him that jumping is only okay when invited to do so. He is extremely responsive to commands and to his name and he is crate trained. He doesn’t show any aggression to his foster family but is quite vocal and “talks” a lot. As you would expect in any boxer, he does use his paws a lot to communicate with you and to play. Maverick is quite slow to warm up to new people so the potential adopter will need to be patient and understand this. Maverick would do well in a home with active adults who can see to his exercise needs. Due to his current proclivity for jumping, if children are present in the home, it would be best if they were older because he is quite tall when he jumps up on his hind legs and could knock over a smaller child. Maverick is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Friday's back story: Mama Sunday came to DFW Beagle Buddies on June 24 when she and 4 one-week old puppies were found on the side of the road in Red Oak. With a high temperature of 103 that day, we were very concerned that the babies may not make it. Thankfully, mommy and all 4 babies got the all clear from the vet and settled in at their foster home. 6 days later, animal control reached out to us to let us know that there were two more babies! While the 2 additional babies were quite a bit smaller than the other group, all did well and got a clean bill of health from the vet! Since they came over the course of a week, we namedthis group the Pups of the Week! Mama appeared to be full Beagle and the puppies appear to be Beagle/Boxer mixes. Their estimated birthday is June 17, 2022. If you'd like to meet Friday aka Maverick, please apply at www.dfwbeaglebuddies.org/adopt! Story
Red is a 13 year-old neutered male. He is looking for a home where he can spend his golden years. He is a slim, good-looking, and low-maintenance guy. He does like to go for walks and will sniff for rabbits. He gets most excited when his human returns home. He will bay and will even zoom around sometimes. He is very well housetrained in his foster home. He will follow you everywhere in the house in the hope that you are going to the kitchen. He likes toys that have treats hidden in them. He is missing part of one of his ears and this may be why he doesn’t care for other dogs and would do best in a home where he is the only one. He recently had his teeth cleaned and is in good health – he is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. He has lots of life to live as well as love and companionship to give to someone. If you’d like to meet him, please apply at  www.dfwbeaglebuddies.org/adopt .  To see more photos, please visit us at: www.facebook.com/dfwbeaglebuddies   To find out more about our adoption process, fees, and fill out an application, please visit our website: www.dfwbeaglebuddies.org/adopt    If you're not quite ready to adopt, please consider fostering! www.dfwbeaglebuddies.org/volunteer    Can't adopt or foster?  Consider making a donation toward care and supplies for the Beagles! www.dfwbeaglebuddies.org/donate October 8, 2024, 12:09 am

UPDATE, MY SISTER FOUND HER FOREVER HOME, I'M STILL LOOKING FOR MINE!!! Updated: Fred has been neutered! Fred has been housebroken & create trained, he has learned the commands sit & stay. He is comfortable with a collar, he has 2, one for day to day use and a second training collar for leash training, (working on the leash training now, it's not going well, he's scared, but he will get over that with time), he is comfortable wearing both. Fred is very energetic and loves to explore, dig, chew, and eat. He has his own cage, blanket, toys, collars, leash, food bowl, (one that makes him slow down when eating). Fred is good with dogs that are bigger then him, smaller dogs he's not so good with. He loves kids. Fred is looking for a loving family with medium to high energy. Fred does sleep through the night. He has no known food allergies, he hasn't met a food he don't like yet.

Story
Meet Pixie!Sweet little Pixie is a loyal, protective companion. She is a beagle/terrier mix with some kind of herding dog in her. The only thing she wants in life is to be with her person and make them happy.Pixie came to foster care in June as a scared and depressed mama whose puppies were all adopted. On top of this she had an upper respiratory infection. As soon as she was feeling better she went to be spayed and discovered she had heartworm. She has since been treated and is feeling great.Pixie is a sweet 3 year old who is fully potty and crate trained. She does better with medium sized dogs, has not been around cats, and should be with older children due to her herding small children. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Hi, my name is Tildy. My mom says I'm the perfect pup. I'm super smart, I love to cuddle, get belly rubs, chasing squirrels & getting treats. Here's the thing, I need your help. My mom is really sad, you see, she loves me so much but I'm always nervous around my big sister Roxie which sometimes makes me growl at her. Mom is getting over cancer and has some other health issues. She is worried about us not getting along so she is hoping you might let me be Queen Pup at your house. My fur is silky soft and I have a lot of love and cuddles to give. I like to go for car rides, walks and play fetch - or just cuddle up next to you on the couch while you watch TV or read a book. Can you help me help my mom? Her heart is breaking, but she's trying to make the best decision for me which is to find me a new fur mom or dad to love me and let me love them. Thank you for stopping by to look at my pictures and maybe give me a chance? Love - Tildy

Story
Judah is a playful one and a half year old Beagle-Bluetick Hound mix who LOVES to play with other dogs. When we are able to take him to the dog park he waits anxiously by the gate for another pup to walk in and from then on he'll run with them until we leave. He is friendly with everyone he meets. His first instinct is to drop to the ground and show his belly for scratches. He has no health issues, just the need for regular exercise which we can't always provide.

Story
I never imagined this day would come. I’m Sam, a software engineer from India, living abroad for years. A family emergency has called me back to India, and I don’t know when I’ll return. The hardest part is leaving my beloved beagle, Bruno. He’s a playful, loving companion with floppy ears and expressive eyes, always finding ways to make me laugh. Bruno greets me with a wagging tail after long days and snuggles up when I need comfort. His joy is infectious, and his love is unconditional. Now, I must make the difficult decision to find him a new family. He deserves stability, love, and a home where he can run, play, and be cherished. I want someone who will appreciate his playful nature, take him for long walks, play fetch, and cuddle with him. Finding the right home for Bruno is the best thing I can do for him, even if it breaks my heart. He’ll always be a part of me, and I hope he’ll be happy and loved. That’s all I want for my dear Bruno. dont need money, no health issues

Story
Biscuit is about 16 months old and comes from a shelter in Tennessee. She was adopted in August and lived with her sister, Bandit, on a half acre yard for about 9 months. We were forced to sell and move, and ended up in and apartment in Texas. She now spends most her time on the balcony waiting. Biscuit is very playful and wants to play with most dogs and wines when she cannot. She and her sister have smack-down bouts at the empty dog parks or on the living room rug. They wouldn't mind someone joining them. Biscuit is potty trained, and she is crate trained, so she knows she has a place to rest and retreat. She deserves more attention that i can give.
