My adoption fee has been sponsored by a very generous donor, so I am FREE to go home! You could describe me by a few of these characteristics: Energy level- Moderate. A run around the backyard and a quick game of fetch is my idea of fun!Affectionate- Sure, we can cuddle. Strangers- I can warm up to just about anyone. House Manners- I do best with a consistent schedule and routine. Kids- I would do well in a home with kids. Dogs- I love doggy play dates, but I would prefer to be my family's only dog. Cats- Unknown. I don't know yet. Health- I have recently undergone an orthopedic surgery, but have been cleared to continue a happy, healthy life!

! Willie is a retired coon dog. He retired over two years ago when he ran off on the job and came to us instead. His owner was located but failed to return calls to claim him, so here he sits, waiting to meet you instead!!! He is pretty chill and quite the love. The lady dogs love Willie! He is kid friendly, but older and/or understanding kids would probably be best because this sweet old man prefers naps over fetch in the yard. He has not been tested with cats, but given his background of chasing small animals, we can say it would probably be best if he had a home with no cats. Willie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and current on prevention. **Seniors interested in adopting seniors** We know money can be tight so please contact us about special adoption rates. Biscuit is about 16 months old and comes from Tennessee. She was adopted in August and lived with her sister, Bandit, on a half acre yard for about 9 months. We were forced to sell and move, and ended up in and apartment in Texas. They like to run and play, but now spend most there time on the balcony waiting. Biscuit is very playful and wants to play with most dogs and wines when she cannot. She and her sister have smack-down bouts at the empty dog parks or on the living room rug. They want me to run with them in their games but that is for the dogs. Biscuit is crate trained so she knows she has a place to rest and retreat. She knows that outside on the grass is the restroom. She listens to commands but since she came with her sister she responds to either of their names. I cannot give them the attention they would like so my hope is for them to have a loving family with a yard.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bix was returned to us through no fault of her own, as their circumstances have changed and they could no longer care for her. She is back with the foster who pulled her fro Dallas Animal Services in late 2022. The adopter reported instances of aggression and resource guarding, but she has been on her best behavior since arriving back in Dallas. We had her evaluated by a trainer, who reports that she is a dominant personality who needs consistent reinforcement of her place in the hierarchy. The foster reports that she is smart and knows basic commands. She can be pushy, but takes correction well. She is high energy, loves to play with the other dogs in the household and is very affectionate. She is leash trained, crate trained and housebroken, up to date on shots and heart worm negative. She will do well with an experienced owner and the rescue will include a session with the trainer to teach the new owner techniques for avoiding issues.
