Story
Welcome Reba to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 1-year-old Shepherd/Greyhound mix dog. She weighs about 65 pounds and is long and leggy. She is a great dog and would make a good running, jogging or walking companion. She has long legs so she could keep stride. She has tons of energy so she would be best with an athletic and active family. She could go with children. She is active so 8 or up would be best. Her best home would be with a fenced yard and time to finish off her training. She was probably gotten as a puppy and put in the backyard. She now is dog sized but has puppy skills. She is a wonderful dog and with some training will make a wonderful family pet. She was rescued from one of the local high kill shelters that are over flowing and asking for help. CCPAL stepped up for her. She is healthy, vaccinated and will be spayed before she leaves the Rescue. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 250 and transport is 180. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **SAGE** Meet Sage, a beautiful, affectionate 3-year-old mixed-breed spayed female. This sweet girl found herself in a tough situation at the shelter after being rescued from a group of strays discovered near a farmer's field. While her sister was lucky enough to find a forever home, Sage was left behind, facing the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia due to overcrowding. We couldn’t stand by and let that happen, so we stepped in to give her a much-deserved chance at a loving home. At first, Sage was shy and uncertain, haunted by her past experiences. However, with gentle patience, kind words, kisses, and tender care, she began to open her heart to us. By the end of her first week, she was returning kisses and actively seeking affection. Although the rescue environment can still be overwhelming for her, I truly believe that her vibrant spirit will flourish in a stable home filled with love and companionship, especially with a kind adult and just one other dog to form a lasting bond. We are seeking a special family—one that is adult-only or has children over ten years old who understand dogs. It’s essential that the family includes another medium-sized, younger dog for Sage to befriend, as well as a lifestyle that embraces regular walks and provides a fenced yard for joyful playtime. If you’re ready to give Sage the love and security she deserves, she’s ready to bring joy and warmth into your life. **Adopting Sage** To apply to adopt, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Our pups are transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble, focusing instead on a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters on proper diet and nutrition.
