Story
Dexter is a handsome Hound mix with a nose that`s always ready for the next adventure! This sweet, affectionate boy is looking for a forever family that loves the outdoors as much as he does. Whether it`s a long walk through the neighborhood or a hike on your favorite trail, Dexter is happiest when he can follow his nose and explore the world one scent at a time.Like many hounds, Dexter is incredibly driven by his sense of smell and enjoys taking his time to investigate every interesting scent along the way. Because of his breed traits, he would do best with a family that has researched hounds or, even better, has previous experience owning one. Hounds are intelligent, fun-loving dogs, but they can also be vocal and independent, making them a better fit for experienced dog owners than first-time adopters.Dexter has participated in playgroups at the shelter and has shown to be social with female dogs around his size. He has displayed some selective behavior with male dogs and would do best in a home with female canine companions only.Because he is a hunting breed, Dexter`s history with cats and other small animals is unknown. However, adopters should keep in mind that his natural instincts may make a home with small pets difficult, so a feline- and small animal-free home would likely be the best fit.Based on his behavior in our care, we believe Dexter would do best in the home with Teens and Adults. He can get overwhelmed with smaller children.Dexter would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and stretch his legs. Due to his tendency to use his hound voice from time to time, apartment living or homes with shared walls are not the best fit for him.If you`re looking for a loyal adventure buddy with a big heart, an even bigger nose, and plenty of personality, Dexter is ready to sniff his way into your life. Come meet him today!

Story
Meet Henry, a handsome, long-legged Treeing Walker Coonhound born in December 2020. Henry is an affectionate guy who hasn’t met a person he doesn’t love. After some time outside stretching his legs and putting his incredible hound nose to work, he’s more than happy to settle in for a good couch snuggle. Henry doesn’t need a packed social calendar to enjoy life. A securely fenced yard where he can sniff and explore, along with walks in quieter areas, would suit him beautifully. Busy environments can be a lot for Henry, and he may bark or react to the sights and sounds around him. Continued reward-based training would help him build skills and feel more comfortable on outings. True to his breed, Henry has a wonderfully expressive hound voice—and he isn’t afraid to use it! His future family should appreciate his vocal personality. Henry has a strong prey drive and needs a home without cats or other small animals. He is also selective with dogs and is looking to be the only dog in the home. If you’re looking for a loving, delightfully houndy companion who enjoys yard adventures, leisurely sniffing, and plenty of time beside his people, Henry may be your perfect match. Visit our website to fill out an Adoption Application http://www.wagsequimwa.com If you have any questions, please email: office@wagsequimwa.com. Most of our dogs require a fully fenced yard, this does depend on the individual dogs needs and safety requirements. Adoption donation fee up to $350 (Please understand this adoption donation goes towards helping all the dogs we rescue) October 1, 2026, 12:09 am

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDEDMeet Rucker!Rucker is a 5-year-old, 90 lb Black and Tan Coonhound/Lab mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter. He’s a super sweet, happy, goofy guy who is ready to find a family of his own!Rucker is treat motivated and already knows sit. He loves going for walks and exploring, and he definitely has that classic hound spirit—curious, independent, and occasionally a little stubborn when he has his own ideas about where the adventure should go! He has the hound personality without the hound volume though—Rucker isn’t a big baying or noisy guy.Rucker came to us overweight, so he’s currently working on getting into healthier shape. His future family will need to be committed to continuing his weight-loss journey with regular exercise, appropriate portions, and a healthy lifestyle. Daily walks and adventures would be right up his alley. He has done well with other dogs and would enjoy having a compatible canine companion, although he’d also be happy being his people’s adventure buddy as an only dog with continued socialization. Rucker is a big, strong guy, and will need an adopter who can handle the strength that comes with a larger pup.Rucker is a sweet, goofy, good-natured boy who is ready to trade shelter life for a family that will get him out exploring, help him reach a healthy weight, and give him plenty of love along the way!Rucker is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Angel! Angel is a 9-month-old, 38 lb Beagle/Labrador Retriever mix who is very sweet and playful! This adorable girl is ready to find a forever family that will help her continue growing into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. Angel can be a little shy when she first meets new people or experiences new situations, but with a little patience and encouragement, her fun-loving personality quickly begins to shine. She loves playing with other dogs and gains confidence from having canine companions around her. Because she’s still young and learning about the world, Angel is looking for a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog who can be her full-time playmate, help show her the ropes, and continue building her confidence. She thrives with canine companionship and would love a buddy to romp around with every day. Angel would do best with an active family that will include her in daily walks, adventures, and plenty of fun outings to keep her well-socialized. As a growing puppy, she’ll also benefit from continued training, structure, and positive guidance to help her become her best dog. Angel is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDEDMeet Molly!Molly is a 5.5-year-old, 40 lb Basset Hound/Terrier mix who is looking for a special person to call her own. She is a sweet, affectionate girl who bonds deeply with her people and loves nothing more than being curled up beside them for a good sofa cuddle.Molly is calm and relaxed in the home, is fully house-trained, crate-trained, has shown to do well with cats, and has great house manners. She loves her stuffed toys, belly rubs, car rides, walks, and getting out to explore open spaces. She also does well with other dogs, although she isn’t necessarily looking for a canine playmate and is more interested in doing her own thing.Molly can be slow to warm up to new people and does best when introductions happen gradually and on her terms. She is happiest with people who understand that not every dog wants to be everyone’s best friend right away and are willing to respect her boundaries while building trust. Once Molly feels comfortable with someone, she can form an incredibly strong bond and become a loving, devoted companion, who can become very protective of her “person/people”.Molly is looking for a quieter home with someone who appreciates a more reserved dog and is willing to continue working on her confidence and socialization. A predictable routine, clear boundaries, positive reinforcement, and patient introductions will help her feel safe and successful. She would do best with calm, mature people who understand dog body language and are comfortable giving her the space she needs. An adult only home without young children is preferred for her.Molly is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.
