Franklin was found all alone on the streets, trying to rent the space under someone's house. The homeowners said it wasn't for rent and Franklin, a 2 year old Viszla mix, had to come to the shelter to see if owners would come for him. Unfortunately, no one came. Now he is eager to "own" a home and never have to worry about renting under a home again. Seriously, Franklin is the best boy! He is incredibly sweet, adores people, eagerly seeks their attention, and simply wants to be loved. He's still a little puppy-like, which just makes him even more adorable. Franklin doesn't get along with other dogs so it would be best for him to be the only dog in the home. We're not sure about cats. With some fun stuff to do and some good parents to guide him, he's gonna be amazing! (posted 2/4/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. Adoption $150.00, Transport: $100.00  Franklin is one of our special Hope dogs, a program that you can read about here: https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/adopt/hope-dogs Franklin, one of our Hope dogs, was found all alone on the streets, trying to rent the space under someone’s house. The homeowners said it wasn’t for rent, so Franklin had to come to the shelter to see if his owners would come for him. Unfortunately, nobody did.  A 2-year-old, 50-pound Vizsla mix, he is eager to find a home with some great human roomies and never have to worry about renting under a home again. He isn’t fond of other dogs and should be the only dog in the family.  Seriously, though, Franklin is the best boy! He’s such a sweetheart and always wants to be around people. This is Blakely, an 8-month-old Vizsla mix with a playful heart! She presently weighs 35-40 pounds and will mature to 45-50, each pound filled with energy and delight! Chip is practically a pro at fetch already and he is going to be OBSESSED when he grows up. He’s an active little guy who loves his toys. He’s quite good at keeping himself entertained. If you’d rather throw the ball in the yard or go to agility class instead of walks, he’s the pup for you! His favorite place to be is on top of you. Napping on the couch next to you is an acceptable alternative in his opinion. He hasn’t met many people or dogs so he’s still a little shy but he’s getting braver every day. Especially if that new friend happens to have a tennis ball or frisbee! He cries a little bit when he goes into the crate but quickly settles down and is comfortable hanging out by himself in there. He learned to go potty outside in just 2 days and will throw himself at the door to let you know he wants out. He would probably learn to ring a bell to go out just as fast. His only accidents now are if you don’t make it to the door in time.

Lou-German Shorthair/Lab, ~ 3 yr. (Feb. 2026) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Lou came to Rescue when his owner moved and could not take him with them. They asked a Trainer to take him in, as she coordinates a Prison Training Program for dogs. Lou is getting started in that program. Recently, he's been living with the Trainer and she said he's been a wonderful boy, describes him as having an amazing temperament. Calm and quiet. Living with her dogs, gets along well with everyone. He is 63# and has good energy. He'll do best in a home that is active. Lou's crate trained and housetrained. He has no issues with resource guarding. Lou's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption.
